AnnMumsnet · 23/02/2016 11:34

Here at MNHQ we're interested in finding out more about what our users think about the upcoming EU referendum. On the 23rd June 2016, there will be a referendum to decide whether the UK should remain a member of the European Union, or whether we should leave it.

This survey is open to all Mners who are eligible to vote in UK general elections. Everyone who completes the survey will be put into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £100 Amazon voucher.

Here's the link again - www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/2HKZTG2

Thanks
MNHQ

I've filled it in, wonder times we will be asked this in the next four months!!

Done.

I don't see the need to include idris Elba and Mary berry as points of reference, it comes across as not taking the subject seriously.

I'm in it for the cake..

Done. Well set out survey, I thought.

Or Jeremy Clarkson.

But I've filled it in. And I'm still massively undecided.

MNHQ I am eligible to vote in UK general elections but don't live in the UK so cannot fill in Q20. Can you amend the question please (perhaps to reflect the constituency in which we retain the right to vote).

Hi EmilyAlice - thanks for flagging this. It's now been amended.

I'm not sure if that worked.

When I clicked done, it took me back to the top of the survey page. Is that supposed to happen or should it take me through to another page?

VertigoNun · 23/02/2016 13:36

The results will be interesting.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 23/02/2016 13:38

It worked that time. Perhaps I was completing it as you were amending it.

Done.

I too thought the Mary Berry question was obviously gearing up for some click bait, and dumbing down the issue.

One point I felt could have been covered was the timing of the referendum (which is very disrespectful to all of the countries except England).

Will be interesting to see the results, I'm wondering if other Scots are already fed up and bored of the whole thing as this subject was done to death during the Scottish Referendum....

Report
ThisCakeFilledIsle · 23/02/2016 13:56

Yes, we don't have a referendum for decades then 2 come along at once. At least I learned some lessons about " debating"with friends after the Scottish one! I will not be drawn into discussions.

Report
ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 23/02/2016 13:59

I will not be drawn into discussions

Do you think there will be many discussions in Scotland? Personally I feel it was already sufficiently covered during the Indyref and all the arguments seem to be exactly the same

ThisCakeFilledIsle · 23/02/2016 14:08

I agree. I made up my mind quite quickly because I had had a long, hard look at what I wanted for my children's future last year.

Report
ThisCakeFilledIsle · 23/02/2016 14:14

And I learned that the numbers quoted can be different on both sides and if they are agreed they can be interpreted in different ways. It comes down to one's own judgement of what is of value.

The 'do you trust the opinion of this/that sleb' Qu's were tedious.
What's that about then???

I didn't know who the heck one of the celebs is and only worked out they mentioned June can't remember her last name because I saw on BBC QT that she is part of the stay campaign. Confused

Report
ThroughThickAndThin01 · 23/02/2016 15:17

Id imagine the sleb thing was possibly about the integrity of the polling person. If it mattered to you highly what the celebs thought and disregarded what politicians/economists etc say, doesn't it tell you something about that person. Mind you, maybe not, they could have asked what level of education you have Confused

The later question about changing your mind is badly worded ... it assumes you have changed your mind (all 4 questions) the only way to respond truthfully is "other" and write "not changed mind".

Presumably this survey was devised by the same crowd that do YouGov surveys ?

Report
howabout · 23/02/2016 17:02

I agree lurking. I put N/A in the "other" box. If enough people say they made up their mind ages ago can we get on and get it over with way before June please?

Done

AlpacaLypse · 23/02/2016 21:29

I'm interested in why 23rd June has been chosen as the date. It really is comparatively soon! Are they hoping some people will be too busy worrying about exams or loved up by Glastonbury or (far more likely) the annual summer wave of refugees across the Med will not have really got going by then?

comparatively soon? FFS, we have 4 more months of this constant media coverage after many yrs of discussion, it's already intolerable. I'm amazed at so many people who haven't made mind up after so many decades. Just get it sodding over with. I don't want a referendum but I want the matter settled.

Also not sure who Mary Berry is...some type of TV personality? Couldn't care less who she is.

I thought Mary Berry is like, America's Delia Smith!
Not sure what she has to do with Brexit. Don't trust her, anyway.
