I don't have a partner who lives with me. This excludes single parents. Not impressed HQ.

Surveys exclude certain groups of people all the time. Get over it ffs.

Tortoise Tue 09-Dec-14 12:13:44

I still enjoy the 'joys of Christmas' as a lone parent! What difference can having a partner have?

stealthsquiggle Tue 09-Dec-14 12:13:56

Done but I messed up my email address (multitasking fail). Since it's an MNHQ survey I assume you will be able to find me when I win grin

isthisunfair1967 Tue 09-Dec-14 12:15:13

What tortoise said.

Plus, the survey is only open to female mnetters. Why couldn't you have asked gender, male or female, instead of making it only for female mnetters?

Plus, what if a mnetter is in a same sex relationship where both partners are female?

sliceofsoup Tue 09-Dec-14 12:18:45

Its about who does the Christmas related chores. A single parent would do them all so it would skew the results.

Its really simple. Certain surveys are for certain demographics. Its not a comment on single parents.

isthisunfair1967 Tue 09-Dec-14 12:20:33

Then ask - are you a single parent. I don't do all the chores, I share them with my children.

Plus, it assumes a gender difference.

These surveys have a purpose. So all the "why cant you" is just nonsense. Whoever created the survey did it in this way for a reason. They want to look at this specific set of circumstances for a reason.

God. Sometimes I really do wonder.

Slowdownsally Tue 09-Dec-14 12:22:44

It is about a division of chores, but one of the options is "the cleaner does it..."

I really don't understand why lone parents are excluded either.

isthisunfair1967 Tue 09-Dec-14 12:22:55

I wouldn't mind if it was a sponsored survey, but it's an HQ one.

sliceofsoup Tue 09-Dec-14 12:29:35

So HQ have to include every possible family set up when they do a survey? What kind of fucking pointless nightmare would that be.

Sometimes you just wont fit the box. Boo hoo.

stealthsquiggle Tue 09-Dec-14 12:38:23

Where does it make assumptions about the gender of the partner confused?

As others have said, there is a desired population for any survey. I don't answer ones for SAHPs, or people who have young DC, or any number of others. If you don't fit this one, don't answer.

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 09-Dec-14 13:18:02

Thanks all!
Sorry if you don't fit the boxes for this one - we wanted to get to folks as per above so we can look at division of chores amongst those with a partner and a child at home specifically.
Lots of other chances to take part and win here

PossumPoo Tue 09-Dec-14 13:22:49

Sliceofsoup, wouldn't have put it quite that way but it's definitely what i was thinking!

SparklyReindeerShit Tue 09-Dec-14 13:41:57

Er, had a bit too much festive sherry and spelt my username incorrectly on the survey blush sorry!

blibblibs Tue 09-Dec-14 14:16:44

Done smile but couldn't answer Q5, theres nothing bad about xmas fgrin

BoomBoomsCousin Tue 09-Dec-14 15:51:39

Answers seem a bit skewed towards being a martyr about Christmas. Had to leave several blank because there was no fitting moderate response.

Bimberley Tue 09-Dec-14 15:52:49

Done smile

isthisunfair1967 Tue 09-Dec-14 15:52:50

That's exactly what I mean Boom - I'll bet my bottom dollar it's a wimmin do all the work at Christmas and the menz do nuffink survey.

JosephWasAChippyMinton Tue 09-Dec-14 15:59:01

And a good excuse to use a fsmile
