This is the feedback thread for the Mumsnet users who have been testing the Tripp Trapp™ chair - the original ‘Chair for Life’, designed so it will evolve with your child from birth through to adulthood - with their child.

Here’s what Stokke has to say: “For over 40 years, millions of children around the world have enjoyed their meals and grown up using the iconic Tripp Trapp® chair. Today, as then, the intelligent, adjustable design allows freedom of movement with both depth and height adjustable seat and footplates. When adjusted correctly, your child is ensured a comfortable and ergonomic seating position at any age. It is designed to fit right up to your dining table allowing your child to learn and develop alongside you.”

Selected testers received the Tripp Trapp™ in beech, in a colour of their choice, as well as the Tripp Trapp™ Baby Set if their child was under 3, to turn the chair into a high chair.

Testers, please give your feedback by responding to the questions below, as well as completing a short survey we’ve emailed you.

  1. What did you like about the Tripp Trapp™ chair?
  2. What did you think of the look of the Tripp Trapp™ chair?
  3. Did you use the Tripp Trapp™ chair at your dinner table? If so, what were your thoughts?
  4. If you received the Baby Set (to turn the Tripp Trapp™ chair into a high chair) what were your thoughts?
  5. Would you recommend the Tripp Trapp™ chair to others?

All testers who give their feedback below as well as completing the survey will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £100 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

  1. What did you like about the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

I love that it feels like a quality piece of furniture rather than a throwaway piece of plastic with a short life span, I also like how it supports my daughter in a great seated position for eating with a foot rest rather than her feet dangling.

  1. What did you think of the look of the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

The Tripp trapp looks lovely in my kitchen , my old high chair would take up a lot of room but the Tripp trapp can fit tucked into the table neatly.

  1. Did you use the Tripp Trapp™ chair at your dinner table? If so, what were your thoughts?

Yes ! Before we had the Tripp trapp we would sit at the breakfast bar for meals with my daughter to the side of us as her old high chair could not pull up the the table because of the splayed legs it had, now in her Tripp trapp we have our meals together as a family at the table which we all enjoy.

  1. If you received the Baby Set (to turn the Tripp Trapp™ chair into a high chair) what were your thoughts?

The baby set is perfect , it doesn't actually hold the child in like a harness but does give extra security. I find because my daughter is pulled up to the table with us and feels included she doesn't attempt to climb out of the chair.

  1. Would you recommend the Tripp Trapp™ chair to others?

Yes definitely, it is a lot more expensive than some of the more basic plastic high chairs available but I love that it will be with us for years to come and the versatility of it, we will be able to remove the baby set and adjust the seat height so that my daughter will be comfortable and at the right position to eat at the table as she grows. I also purchased the Tripp trapp tray which easily clips on and give us the option to feed her away from the table for snacks.

  1. What did you like about the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

I love the chair - the appearance, the ease of cleaning, the support it gives DS... and also the way it grows with a child rather than needing multiple chairs!

  1. What did you think of the look of the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

I really like the look. I was concerned at first I might trip over the legs but instead it’s really effective at space saving and looks in-keeping with the rest of our decor at home. The choice of colours is a great idea (we opted for white to match our table and chairs) as you can customise to suit your lifestyle and decor.

  1. Did you use the Tripp Trapp™ chair at your dinner table? If so, what were your thoughts?

We did. DS was able to comfortably join us at the table so that he could eat with us and is really enjoying being able to reach everything himself, especially as he can be as close to the table as possible now.

  1. If you received the Baby Set (to turn the Tripp Trapp™ chair into a high chair) what were your thoughts?

We received this however after DS (2) tried it we decided it wasn’t suitable for him as it was just an additional element when he was quite comfortable sitting on the normal seat. I would recommend for smaller children and babies though and can definitely see the benefit.

  1. Would you recommend the Tripp Trapp™ chair to others?

Yes, every time. For not only the space saving, but also the ability to grow with the child and becoming a piece of furniture that can be passed on or used by other children in the family, as well as adults! It’s great having an extra seat for when guests come around, especially as it’s easy to adjust the height of the seat! And now that I’ve tried it I do think it’s great value for money.

  1. What did you like about the Tripp Trapp™ chair? I liked that it comes all the way up to the table and that my son can feel included at meal times. It is really easy to keep clean and he seems very comfortable in it.

  1. What did you think of the look of the Tripp Trapp™ chair? It looks really smart, a lovely ergonomic piece of furniture and it doesn't look out of place at our dining table.

  1. Did you use the Tripp Trapp™ chair at your dinner table? If so, what were your thoughts? It worked really well at the dinner table and I think since using it, my son's levels of independence in relation to eating have improved. He feels more grown up like his big brothers.
  2. If you received the Baby Set (to turn the Tripp Trapp™ chair into a high chair) what were your thoughts? It took me a while to get my head around not having a harness but he seems really happy in it. He tried to stand up a few times but was unable to.

  1. Would you recommend the Tripp Trapp™ chair to others? Definitely! My son had his - socially distanced - 2nd birthday party this weekend and family members who have their toddlers with them are very likely to want to try it out.

  1. What did you like about the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

I loved how easy it was to put together and how DS could climb up and down by himself. It's also really easy to clean which is a huge bonus with a messy toddler.
  1. What did you think of the look of the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

It's lovely, I chose the soft mint and it goes really well with the decor at home.
  1. Did you use the Tripp Trapp™ chair at your dinner table? If so, what were your thoughts?

Yes, I found it to be really compact when pushed under the table and DS loves being able to eat at the table as opposed to a tray.
  1. If you received the Baby Set (to turn the Tripp Trapp™ chair into a high chair) what were your thoughts?

I dint really use the seat as DS hates to be contained but the sliders were really useful to stop it from tipping over.
  1. Would you recommend the Tripp Trapp™ chair to others? Yes.

1. What did you like about the Tripp Trapp™ chair?
This chair is stylish with a smaller footprint than our other high chair. It took all of about 15 minutes to put together and actually it was a fun activity to do with my son! I found it easy to clean and really easy for my 2.5yr old to climb in and out. He was able to get really close to the table and I liked that it gave good foot support which can help with his eating and digestion. We use it for meals and to play games at the table.

2. What did you think of the look of the Tripp Trapp™ chair?
I think it is very stylish and mine came in an unobtrusive grey wood. Definitely not a 'babyish' style which I appreciate as all the bright colours can get a bit maddening after a while.

3. Did you use the Tripp Trapp™ chair at your dinner table? If so, what were your thoughts?
We used it at our dining table every day and I think it was fantastic - it made my son really seem a part of the family close up to the table, and he was very steady in it.

4. If you received the Baby Set (to turn the Tripp Trapp™ chair into a high chair) what were your thoughts?
We received the baby set however my son is a big lad so he didn't really fit in the high chair part. We have, however, kept the backrest and the foot extenders at the base clipped on, as the back makes it a bit more comfy that the wood, and the foot extenders make it more difficult for my son to push off the table and over balance. Trust me, he has tried several times to fall backwards but hasn't been able to do it!

5. Would you recommend the Tripp Trapp™ chair to others?
Absolutely - I wish I'd bought one in the first instance! I love that it grows with the child, and I've even sat on it a few times quite confidently. It is expensive but as the chair can last so long it is a real workhorse piece of furniture.

1. What did you like about the Tripp Trapp™ chair?
It's really very simple & nice to look at & compared to our previous one incredibly easy to clean with no annoying crevices.

2. What did you think of the look of the Tripp Trapp™ chair?
It's a lovely simpler design that fits well in our kitchen

3. Did you use the Tripp Trapp™ chair at your dinner table? If so, what were your thoughts?
Yes, my Dc5(2 at the time of receiving, now 3) uses it 3x a day & he absolutely loves that he can get in & out!of it with ease. We've used it at our patio table too.

4. If you received the Baby Set (to turn the Tripp Trapp™ chair into a high chair) what were your thoughts?
I did, we've attached it twice, both times with my just 1yo nephew, it's easy to do & he clearly enjoys being right up at the table with his cousins (Dc5 was very pleased he got to share his new chair Grin)

5. Would you recommend the Tripp Trapp™ chair to others? Yes! Without a doubt if it was within their budget I would thoroughly recommend a Tripp Trapp.

Thank you for choosing us to take part in this trial, my little boy is especially pleased that it's his favourite colour.

  1. What did you like about the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

I love everything about the chair, it's really easy to clean there's no hidden areas for old food to accumulate. The TrippTrapp doesn't take up loads of room, it's more inclusive for DS as his old high chair wasn't a good fit and therefore DS couldn't get close enough to the table. I love that he's already trying to climb up to sit in it so it really suits his independent nature. Also a huge benefit is posture, DS sits with a beautifully straight back and his feet actually resting flat on the footplate. In his old high chair he would slouch and manage to get his feet onto the tray.
I was always a bit worried about the price but having used one now it's completely worth it seeing as it's so versatile. It's amazing that the chair can be used from birth and will grow with your child as a forever chair. DS can take it with him when he leaves home and use it. If I have another child I'll certainly be purchasing another chair, I could've really benefitted from the newborn attachment after my c-section and I'll purchasing further attachments for this one as DS grows.

  1. What did you think of the look of the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

I feel that the chair is a simple and timeless design which is also very aesthetically pleasing. It looks & feels reassuringly solid. I think it's excellent that you can choose the colour to match your existing furniture/decor.

  1. Did you use the Tripp Trapp™ chair at your dinner table? If so, what were your thoughts?

Yes there's no going back now. The chair fits perfectly up to the table, DS is a lot happier in the chair, he can really join in and has been much more active participant at mealtimes. DS is also babbling a lot more during mealtimes too which he didn't do previously. He's better able to use his cup now because he's got more room in front of him, it used to end up on the floor after one use!

  1. If you received the Baby Set (to turn the Tripp Trapp™ chair into a high chair) what were your thoughts?

The baby set is excellent and I'll be purchasing the tray & cushion to go with it shortly. It's much better than using straps alone, DS can semi stand to reach a bit further on the table but it's close enough to prevent him falling out or attempting to climb out. It also happily sits perfectly flush with our dining table.

  1. Would you recommend the Tripp Trapp™ chair to others?

I already have been and will continue to do so, a few have ordered one already!

Thank you for choosing us to test this amazing chair Smile

Would you like to add some points?

  1. What did you like about the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

It matched my decor perfectly, it fitted nicely under my table and doesn’t take up and space and it’s so easy to clean!

  1. What did you think of the look of the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

Really nice, it’s a solid piece of furniture unlike the rubbish plastic ones you can get. It looks really classy when being used and when it’s stored away it just slides under the table and you can’t see it

  1. Did you use the Tripp Trapp™ chair at your dinner table? If so, what were your thoughts?

Yes it’s the perfect height. We used to sit at the breakfast bar with the the old high chair but this has made us all sit down as a family at the table

  1. If you received the Baby Set (to turn the Tripp Trapp™ chair into a high chair) what were your thoughts?

Yes, it works really well. I am a bit anxious not having straps so I will probably buy them but he hasn’t tried to climb out of it or anything

  1. Would you recommend the Tripp Trapp™ chair to others?

I would yes! At first I thought it was far to expensive but it’s so handy! Fits perfectly under the table, it will last for years to come and its really easy to clean so it never looks grubby! I love it! I would never have paid that much for a highchair but now I’ve had a chance to use one I would recommend it and buy another for my next baby

  1. What did you like about the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

The first thing that I loved was the design, it’s sleek and modern, it’s wooden so it goes perfectly with my dining set. Because it’s perfectly counterbalanced it’s not bulky and sits beautifully under the table without tripping us up!

I also really loved the choice of colours, the moss green matches perfectly with our dining room decor and it looks like it was made bespoke for our room!

The best thing is my son can sit right up to the dining table, it adjusts perfectly to make sure he’s comfortable and at the right height, and he can engage with us as we have a family meal!

  1. What did you think of the look of the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

Elegant, modern, quality, so much better than any plastic high chair we’ve had before!

  1. Did you use the Tripp Trapp™ chair at your dinner table? If so, what were your thoughts?

Yes. The chair sits so nicely at the table, it doesn’t look out of place with our adult furniture. By adjusting the height my son can be the right height to eat at the table and engage with us during family meal times. The best thing is that when it is fully pushed in it doesn’t take up any room at all and doesn’t have legs that stick out and trip you up. It’s really neat!

  1. If you received the Baby Set (to turn the Tripp Trapp™ chair into a high chair) what were your thoughts?

I didn’t but I am currently pregnant and would definitely like to add a newborn set and, in time, baby set to the dining table 😊

  1. Would you recommend the Tripp Trapp™ chair to others?

Absolutely, and I already have, all my mum friends have commented on how lovely it is and how they want one/ will be getting one!

  1. What did you like about the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

I liked that it will grow with my child and it looks nicer than normal high chairs. It's also easy to clean and seems comfortable for my baby to sit in.

  1. What did you think of the look of the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

Very nice looking, a lot nicer than the normal plastic high chairs and the storm grey goes nicely with our decor

  1. Did you use the Tripp Trapp™ chair at your dinner table? If so, what were your thoughts?

We used it for a bit at the dinner table but found it better to use as a stand alone high chair as it didn't quite fit properly under our table.

  1. If you received the Baby Set (to turn the Tripp Trapp™ chair into a high chair) what were your thoughts?

The baby set is useful, although I would have expected it to also include the harness as part of a "baby set" as a harness is a pretty standard piece of equipment.

It was easy to fit and looks nice.

  1. Would you recommend the Tripp Trapp™ chair to others?

Yes, I would recommend it. However I was surprised at how expensive additional accessories are - I paid around £80 to buy a high chair tray and a cushion! That is pretty expensive when you consider most high chairs come with padded seats and a tray as standard, but I suppose other high chairs don't "grow" with the child.

  1. What did you like about the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

It’s brilliant. DS is 3 so used the seat without any restrain or bars. He was so pleased that he can sit up to the table without any barriers, but be high enough to reach everything properly.
He also liked that he could get in and out of it himself. It let him be very independent and go get his own ketchup from kitchen etc.
We have also found ourselves using the dining table more. For example to do craft as he is much more comfortable.

  1. What did you think of the look of the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

It has a lovely minimalist design that would go with most kinds of decor.

  1. Did you use the Tripp Trapp™ chair at your dinner table? If so, what were your thoughts?

We did, it was the principle reason for our interest in it. It’s perfect to let us all sit together as a family. DS is much more grown up and independent now he can reach the table properly and get himself on and off the chair.

  1. If you received the Baby Set (to turn the Tripp Trapp™ chair into a high chair) what were your thoughts?

We didn’t, but we are expecting w baby in the new year and plan to get another Tripp trapp with newborn and then baby sets. Will be nice to have baby at table but not on a lap and not on bouncy chair on floor.

  1. Would you recommend the Tripp Trapp™ chair to others?

Definitely. Best high chair we have ever used and will last for many years

  1. What did you like about the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

I loved the colour and style. It reminded me of an almost vintage looking item.
The chair itself has many uses, but it really came into its own while DH was cutting ds's hair. He said it made the job a lot easier, as ds was comfortable and high up.
  1. What did you think of the look of the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

Again, the style and colour were fab. I'd imagine it would fit into the decor of most households.
  1. Did you use the Tripp Trapp™ chair at your dinner table? If so, what were your thoughts?

DS enjoyed eating in it, and it was nice to for him to join us comfortably at the table.
  1. If you received the Baby Set (to turn the Tripp Trapp™ chair into a high chair) what were your thoughts? I didn't need the high chair part.
  2. Would you recommend the Tripp Trapp™ chair to others?

Yes, it's a money saver, as it grows with you. It's a space saver, and will be used again and again.

1. What did you like about the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

There's so much to like about this chair! I love that it's not plastic tat. It looks beautiful with our dining table - we have benches rather than chairs so it was always going to be a bit of a pain eating together around the table but this has solved that issue.

As soon as I sat my child in it I could see that his posture was so much better than in his previous chair. He sat straighter which I can only assume is better for digestion. I was worried he wouldn't be as comfortable as in his old one but he's seemed very happy enjoying his leisurely meals as always.

It's so easy to keep clean - no nooks and crannies to find bits of food smished into or sauces staining any stitching.

2. What did you think of the look of the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

Aesthetically it's worlds away from other high chairs. We received the chair in mint green and had our sons name engraved - the wood showing through the colour is beautiful, I think it will be a treasured possession for years to come.

3. Did you use the Tripp Trapp™ chair at your dinner table? If so, what were your thoughts?

We will use the chair for its proper use at the table in time, but for now as my son is 11 months he's slightly too young to eat from the table - bowls get tipped etc - so for now I purchased the tray which attaches to the baby set. This way he can still be sat at the table with us and have his own meal (we do mainly finger foods with him so he feeds himself from his tray)

It will mean he can eat from the table with us properly soon though, something I was worried about as our set has only benches.

4. If you received the Baby Set (to turn the Tripp Trapp™ chair into a high chair) what were your thoughts?

It's a great design, just gives that bit of security as he doesn't need it for support anymore. The backrest just puts him in a slightly better position too. We purchased the harness to go with the set just as a bit of extra peace of mind as he has discovered he can stand in it.

5. Would you recommend the Tripp Trapp™ chair to others?

Definitely! It's a beautiful set, and works wonderfully with our set up in the dining room. I think for me the test was "would I buy another if we had another baby" and the answer is a resounding yes. It is expensive, especially if you have the add ons like we did (but those can be saved and kept for any future children so just the chair would need to be bought in future)

If you're thinking of going for one of the more colourful ones I'd say definitely go for it as the finish is flawless and looks great with name engraving - the grain of the wood showing through the paint is lovely.

  1. What did you like about the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

I liked the style and the fact it will grow with DD, we had given up on using her old high chair. She didn’t like being in it and it took up far too much space. With the Tripp Trapp she feels like she’s sitting in a grown up chair like us, without ruining the fabric of my chairs! We are currently selling the house and I didn’t feel like I need to hide it away when we have viewings as it fits really well.
It was easy to put together, and DD loves the fact it has her name on it

  1. What did you think of the look of the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

I like it a lot, finish was really nice and looks like part of the normal furniture

  1. Did you use the Tripp Trapp™ chair at your dinner table? If so, what were your thoughts?

Yes, worked well, felt like DD was more included in meal times as she was able to use the table comfortably.

  1. If you received the Baby Set (to turn the Tripp Trapp™ chair into a high chair) what were your thoughts?

The baby set worked well; DD did say in the first few uses that it was “ouchy on her bum” which I believe was due to the flat wooden base. I do think I would buy a cushion of some sort to make it a little more comfortable. But she did eventually get used to it.
DD is just over 2.5 yrs, I’m not sure about her climbing up herself just yet, I feel its bit too high and worry she would hurt herself. But it can be occasionally difficult to lift her in and out due to her legs catching, so we may try without the baby set soon.

  1. Would you recommend the Tripp Trapp™ chair to others?

I would yes and have, I am also expecting my second next month and am seriously considering ordering one with the baby attachment for them rather than using a traditional high chair this time around.

I like that it looked nice and was very solid and not plasticky like out normal high chairs. My 2yo liked that he could climb into it on his own and I also like that it can still be used as he grows older. We don't use out table for every meal so I am considering purchasing the tray to add onto it.
  1. What did you think of the look of the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

  1. Did you use the Tripp Trapp™ chair at your dinner table? If so, what were your thoughts?

Yes we did it was the perfect height and we could get it much closer than his usual chair which meant there was less dinner down his clothes which is always a plus.

  1. If you received the Baby Set (to turn the Tripp Trapp™ chair into a high chair) what were your thoughts?

Yes we did although he liked it without I'd prefer him to use the baby set for little longer as he is very tough and tumble and likes to run off at dinner times so it wasn't as easy for him to run away with the baby set. The anti tip sections were also brilliant.

  1. What did you like about the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

We really liked the style of it, it looks super modern, very solid and like real furniture rather than the standard kids colour designs. Husband found it easy and quick to put together.

  1. What did you think of the look of the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

As above it looks lovely, really modern.

  1. Did you use the Tripp Trapp™ chair at your dinner table? If so, what were your thoughts?

Yes, it cleans lovely and fits nicely at the table for my son to sit in while we ate.

  1. If you received the Baby Set (to turn the Tripp Trapp™ chair into a high chair) what were your thoughts?

Our almost 2 year old was able to climb out of the baby set and stand on the seat which I didn't like, we'd have to buy the harness but as our son doesn't like being clicked in to things we actually just dismantled the whole thing rather than buying accessories. We will store it and try use it again with him when he's bigger and can be safer on the seat. I think it's a shame the baby set doesn't come with the harness and you'd have to pay an additional £30 for that. He could also climb up it but couldn't then manipulate himself either into the seat or if the seat was off he couldn't safely sit down so I wasn't keen on that aspect either.

  1. Would you recommend the Tripp Trapp™ chair to others?

I would because it looks lovely and I think the newborn baby bit looks great especially if you have older children because you could put baby in that while you cook or do activities with your order children but it's very expensive to buy the individual pieces so I'd really only recommend it for families buying items for their first child which will see them through more than one child and possibly cousins etc...as well. It's well built enough to last a few kids. It didn't work really for us at this point so I didn't really like it but could see how it would work for other families with different aged children and we might like it more in 6 months or so.

  1. What did you like about the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

I love that it’s space saving, living in an old house has challenges with finding furniture that works with the size of the rooms. The Tripp Trapp goes perfectly under our kitchen island or our dining table. It’s easy to move from room to room as well.
I like that it’s easy to clean, if food is dropped (quite often here with DD2) then it lands on the bottom piece and not the floor so can generally be given back.

  1. What did you think of the look of the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

The chair is stylish, I thought the legs might stick out but they really don’t. Especially compared to our old Ikea highchair. We went for the Moss green, it’s a lovely colour but I was expecting something darker than we got. Moss to me brings to mind a dark green, this is quite light.

  1. Did you use the Tripp Trapp™ chair at your dinner table? If so, what were your thoughts?

Yes we’ve use the chair at our kitchen island and dining table. It fits perfectly with both, is easy to move. It’s also great that it allows the child to be right up to the table eating with us.

  1. If you received the Baby Set (to turn the Tripp Trapp™ chair into a high chair) what were your thoughts?

Yes we are using the baby set, DD2 is 15 months, she’s a climber. In her last chair (the Ikea one) she could easily escape and had to be strapped in. We haven’t bothered with a harness on the Tripp Trapp as it’s more difficult for her to get out and she is mainly happy to sit without trying to escape. I think this is because she feels much more involved being sat at the same table as us rather than with a tray separating her. Saying that I would expect a harness to come with the baby set rather than be another add on. Harnesses are standard with most chairs. Especially those aimed at young infants.

  1. Would you recommend the Tripp Trapp™ chair to others?

Absolutely, it has impressed me much more than I thought it would. My daughter loves being able to climb in herself (with supervision) as she is really independent. It’s great for doing crafts and colouring as well as eating. I’d recommend to anyone.

  1. What did you like about the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

Pretty much everything! I like how it slides under the table and doesn't stick out, saving space. I like the clever design and how it will be used for years to come. I like the ledge for feet. I love the range of colours and being able to engrave the chair!

  1. What did you think of the look of the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

It's simple and clean cut. It looks really smart and now all my other dining chairs look rubbish!

  1. Did you use the Tripp Trapp™ chair at your dinner table? If so, what were your thoughts?

Yes - and oh my word it's so much better than the booster seat we were using previously. My daughter no longer kicks up at the table and doesn't fidget and have straps get in the way. The changeable height is perfect and it just worked brilliantly up to the table.

  1. If you received the Baby Set (to turn the Tripp Trapp™ chair into a high chair) what were your thoughts?

Not applicable as my daughter is age 3. I think it's great that it can be used as a high chair too though - it makes the cost more manageable when you think of the value for money over the longer term!

  1. Would you recommend the Tripp Trapp™ chair to others?

yes absolutely and I have already. We love it and my daughter is so pleased with it. It's much more comfortable for her and because she's closer to the table she feels properly part of the family dinner.

1. What did you like about the Tripp Trapp™ chair?
I love how stable and sturdy it is, as well as the compact shape of it, how it fits right up at the table and isn't in the way like a high chair would be. Years ago my oldest 3 children had chairs that were "like a Tripp Trapp" (made by a well known baby brand, but under £50 each). I assumed these chairs were as good as what they obviously were attempting to copy. How wrong I was! I remember how excited I was when we finally got rid of those bulky clumsy chairs. The shape of the legs/base just meant they didn't push up to the table properly, they just weren't very comfortable, and kids tended to slide around/down a lot more. How pleased I was to get the real deal for my youngest (7th) child to test and see how amazing and far superior the real Tripp Trapp is. My son is 3 and he absolutely loves it! He was always falling off his chair (because he's always in motion!) but sitting on the TT with a perfectly positioned foot rest means he is safe and stable. He just loves it! My 5 year old son just wishes he had one too!

2. What did you think of the look of the Tripp Trapp™ chair?
The chair looks very smart and grown up, doesn't look like a baby chair is at the table. I love the red we picked, as it matches perfectly with my kitchen tiles. It's a great option being able to pick a colour rather than just the ordinary wood choices.

3. Did you use the Tripp Trapp™ chair at your dinner table? If so, what were your thoughts?
It's fabulous for meal times at the table. Very easy for toddler to feed themselves and reach everything , as well as be able to safely get up and down without falling. We also use it at the table for arts and crafts, schooling, etc. My son makes sure he gets his own personal chair every time he is at the table.

4. If you received the Baby Set (to turn the Tripp Trapp™ chair into a high chair) what were your thoughts?
We didn't get this, as my son is 3 years old. It does look a great option for younger ones.

5. Would you recommend the Tripp Trapp™ chair to others?
Absolutely! I think everyone should have one if at all possible. It makes meal times so much nicer.

Thanks again for letting us test this chair. I'm totally convinced it's the best baby and toddler seat ever. Great design.

  1. What did you like about the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

It was very easy to put together. It looks very nice and modern. Feels solid and like it will last a long time. It is sooo easy to clean. Baby seems very comfortable in it.

Looks very modern and like a high quality item

  1. Did you use the Tripp Trapp™ chair at your dinner table? If so, what were your thoughts?

No I didn’t use it at the table as I haven’t got one at the moment but I’m looking forward to to trying it when we get one as it seems like it will work really well at the table.

  1. If you received the Baby Set (to turn the Tripp Trapp™ chair into a high chair) what were your thoughts?

Loved the baby set it seems very comfortable for my baby to sit in but the only thing I’d say is that for the price I think they should also include the harness!

  1. Would you recommend the Tripp Trapp™ chair to others?

Yes I would recommend it to others I found everything about it was good the only problem I have is the accessories for this chair are very expensive!

  1. What did you like about the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

It’s the perfect in-between size. My 3YO has long outgrown her high chair but gets restless kneeling on a regular dining table chair.

  1. What did you think of the look of the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

Nice and sleek. The natural wood was a good fit with our dining table and chairs. Non intrusive and so much easier on the eye than many of the garish high chairs available.

  1. Did you use the Tripp Trapp™ chair at your dinner table? If so, what were your thoughts?

Yes, it sits at the end as a permanent fixture now. My DD has used the table so much more to colour/craft as she’s obviously more comfortable.

  1. If you received the Baby Set (to turn the Tripp Trapp™ chair into a high chair) what were your thoughts?

Received but didn’t use. Have twins on the way though so will get a chance to eventually.

  1. Would you recommend the Tripp Trapp™ chair to others?

Absolutely. Just wish I’d bought it when DD was a newborn.

  1. What did you like about the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

It sits so nicely against our dining furniture and doesn’t looks obviously like a high chair
My son enjoyed climbing up and down from it and it is so sturdy I don’t need to worry about it tipping.
Having his feet resting on the footplate looked more comfy for him than dangling in midair
It was the perfect height for him to sit and eat/play at the table
It is so easy to clean, I love that it isn’t padded so much easier to wipe/vacuum

  1. What did you think of the look of the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

It doesn’t look like a high chair. It is very strong and clearly excellent quality. It is well designed and a beautiful piece of furniture.

  1. Did you use the Tripp Trapp™ chair at your dinner table? If so, what were your thoughts?

It sits very close to the table so we could use it even where we have little space (we have two tables). It felt like my son was sat with us at the table rather than sat in his own separate dining area/tray
He seems much happier using this and has started to sit in it of his own volition to colour or do puzzles at the table which he used to do on the floor. It is really lovely to walk in the room and see that he has set himself up drawing

  1. If you received the Baby Set (to turn the Tripp Trapp™ chair into a high chair) what were your thoughts?

We put it on initially but as he is turning three took it off after a few days and preferred it without

  1. Would you recommend the Tripp Trapp™ chair to others?

Yes absolutely,

  1. What did you like about the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

It's really solid and sturdy, and I like that it can be reconfigured as my child grows. It felt like winning a competition getting to review this product.

  1. What did you think of the look of the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

I think it looks very well made and I like the design. I think it would fit well in every home, with all styles and decor, including my mish mash house with vintage Ercol dining furniture. I love the engraved name that I opted for. I think it makes the chair extra special. I chose the natural wood and natural colour baby set.

  1. Did you use the Tripp Trapp™ chair at your dinner table? If so, what were your thoughts?

I tried, but my 15 month old still needs a tray, I think. And pulls the tablecloth, so I need to invest in the attachable tray to use until he can be trusted to be at arms' reach at the table!

  1. If you received the Baby Set (to turn the Tripp Trapp™ chair into a high chair) what were your thoughts?

Yes, I did. It was easy to attach and it looks comfortable when my baby is sitting in it. I do need to purchase the harness though, as now my baby has the foot rest, he is able to push up and potentially out of the seat. When I get the harness I think it will increase the safety.

  1. Would you recommend the Tripp Trapp™ chair to others?

Yes, I would. It has felt like winning a competition rather than doing a product test so I am very grateful. My top tip would be to invest in one from birth, if possible, with the baby attachment - I would have really had a lot of use out of that in the newborn days, I reckon. I am really happy that my son has a lovely chair for life. Thank you x

  1. What did you like about the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

I liked that the chair feels like a proper piece of furniture and the design is very classic. It has the weight of an adult chair and fits neatly under the table when not in use.

  1. What did you think of the look of the Tripp Trapp™ chair?

The look is very classic and would fit into any room. There is a wider range of colours than I anticipated.

  1. Did you use the Tripp Trapp™ chair at your dinner table? If so, what were your thoughts?

We did use the chair at the dining table and it is lovely that the baby can join in with family mealtimes rather than be at a distance. The height is perfect for our table.

  1. If you received the Baby Set (to turn the Tripp Trapp™ chair into a high chair) what were your thoughts?

The baby set worked really well to keep my child (10 months) in the chair. It does have a few little corners which can trap bits of food. I might add the harness when my child wants to start escaping!

  1. Would you recommend the Tripp Trapp™ chair to others?

I would recommend the Tripp Trapp to others. It is quite expensive (especially with the accessories on top) but is so durable it could be used for several children and grandchildren.

Thank you to mumsnet and Tripp Trapp for the opportunity to have one of these chairs in our home.
