Which flavour of Nice by Nature ice lollies did you choose to test?

Raspberry and strawberry

  • Would you be interested in trying any of the other flavours?

Yes all sound nice

  • Overall, how satisfied were you and your family with the Nice by Nature ice lollies?

Very satisfied

  • What did you/your child like or dislike about Nice By Nature ice lollies?

My kids love fruit so they loved the taste. They loved that the look just like normal ice lollies (ie ones full of sugar) they looked forward to having them.

I liked that they are healthy - 100% fruit so the kind of thing id like to make myself but just don't have the time

I liked the packaging

  • Do you think Nice by Nature ice lollies would appeal more to younger (3-6) or older (7-12) children? Why?

I'd say probably younger as they won't have as much say on what parents buy (in my house anyway!) I think older children would definitely enjoy them too as myself and my partner enjoyed the taste too. They were full of flavour and tasted like frozen smoothies

  • Would you recommend Nice by Nature ice lollies to your friends or family?

Definitely. I'll be buying these again when they're on offer. Thanks for letting me test :)

Which flavour of Nice by Nature ice lollies did you choose to test?
We got Strawberry and Raspberry - the only flavour available in our Tesco.

  • Would you be interested in trying any of the other flavours?

Yes we would - we would probably have chosen the mango if we'd had a choice.
  • Overall, how satisfied were you and your family with the Nice by Nature ice lollies?

The ice lollies were generally well received by the family.
  • What did you/your child like or dislike about Nice By Nature ice lollies?

I liked the fact the ice lollies were made from all fruit purée. They were a good size for children.
My eldest, in the 7-12 category loved the ice lolly - he loves all fruit and would happily have them again. He gave them 8.5 out of 10 and said they were refreshing.
Youngest (3-6) was not as impressed by the lolly, although ate most of it. He didn't like the texture so much, which is thicker because of the fruit purée and not as 'icy'.
  • Do you think Nice by Nature ice lollies would appeal more to younger (3-6) or older (7-12) children? Why?

In my family they appealed more to my older child.
  • Would you recommend Nice by Nature ice lollies to your friends or family?

I would recommend them as a healthy fruity treat.

  • Which flavour of Nice by Nature ice lollies did you choose to test?

We chose the strawberry and raspberry

  • Would you be interested in trying any of the other flavours?

Absolutely, the more variety the better.

  • Overall, how satisfied were you and your family with the Nice by Nature ice lollies?

My youngest wasn't keen but my oldest couldn't get enough. She loved the taste and was impressed that it only contained real fruit. I also loved them and I'm not an ice lolly lover normally, the taste was really nice as was the texture.

  • What did you/your child like or dislike about Nice By Nature ice lollies?

The taste initially was quite sharp as it's real fruit but it settled and was very refreshing. I liked that it wasn't freezing, had a but if a warmth to it which means no sensitive teeth!

  • Do you think Nice by Nature ice lollies would appeal more to younger (3-6) or older (7-12) children? Why? My youngest wasn't keen but my oldest who is 6 is very sporty and is aware of sugars and loved that it was natural. She has asked for more and prefers it to our other ice lollies. My experience would say older children would prefer it.

  • Would you recommend Nice by Nature ice lollies to your friends or family?

Absolutely yes, we are already planning to buy more flavours on out next shopping trip.

Which flavour of Nice by Nature ice lollies did you choose to test?

I was asked to test mango and banana.

Would you be interested in trying any of the other flavours?

I would happily have tried the strawberry and raspberry, but having hated the mango and banana probably wouldn't now.

Overall, how satisfied were you and your family with the Nice by Nature ice lollies?

Four of us tried them. I hated them, my partner and older child thought they were 'OK' but weren't interested in having another (which is pretty out of character), my younger child liked them.

What did you/your child like or dislike about Nice By Nature ice lollies?

I hated the strong apple flavour, which is about all I could taste, tbh, and everyone felt they were very dense and fibrous. My partner disliked the texture, and he really is the least fussy eater in the world, so that says a lot. The kids hated the packaging - eco-friendly cardboard on the outside and plastic on the inside - which they thought was faky and hypocritical. They also thought the Brian Banana and Mary Mango cut-out cards on the back ('six to collect!' - 'for educational purposes!') were really naff. We were all a bit shocked at how small they were. We also thought the greeny-brown colour was a bit unappetising. There are 6 in the packet and the last two are still in the freezer, which is a rare and very negative distinction in our house.

Do you think Nice by Nature ice lollies would appeal more to younger (3-6) or older (7-12) children? Why?

The packaging is more appealing to younger children and the teeny size more appropriate to them too.

Would you recommend Nice by Nature ice lollies to your friends or family?

No, sorry. We eat healthily and like our fruit and veg. I make my own juices and have been known to make ice cream and lollies in the past, but these were a horrible disappointment. I'd recommend the Del Monte range instead.

Which flavour of Nice by Nature ice lollies did you choose to test?

I was selected to try strawberry & raspberry

  • Would you be interested in trying any of the other flavours?

Yes, there were 3 different flavours in my local tesco. A multipack of mixed flavours would be a good idea.

  • Overall, how satisfied were you and your family with the Nice by Nature ice lollies?

Very satisfied.

  • What did you/your child like or dislike about Nice By Nature ice lollies?

All 3 of my kids liked them and would choose them again. My 10 year old particular enjoyed them & chose them above the other lollys in the freezer. I also tried one and found it quiet delicious.

I liked that it was clearly stated that these were suitable for vegetarians.

  • Do you think Nice by Nature ice lollies would appeal more to younger (3-6) or older (7-12) children? Why?

Either, my 4 year old enjoyed them as did my 10 year old. I think they are good for us grown ups too.

  • Would you recommend Nice by Nature ice lollies to your friends or family?

Possible, but at £3 for 6 I found them a little expensive especially due to small size, I'd stock up on offer.

Thanks for letting us test these, perfect for treat for this heatwave

- Which flavour of Nice by Nature ice lollies did you choose to test?

Strawberry and Raspberry

- Would you be interested in trying any of the other flavours?

They all sound tasty so the family members who liked it would like to try the other flavours.

- Overall, how satisfied were you and your family with the Nice by Nature ice lollies?

Very satisfied

- What did you/your child like or dislike about Nice By Nature ice lollies?

My 4yr old says "i didnt like them as they were too fruity and juicy and not like water lollies, i like the colour "

My 2.5yr old says "i love the lolly its very juicy and tastes like fruit"

My 17mth old ate it all and when asked if she liked it said "yes yummy"

My partner liked them as they taste like frozen smoothies and he loves smoothies, i disliked them for the exact same reason they were too thick.

Personally they are a bit pricier than i would usually pay for ice lollies but id buy them if they were on offer for the younger ones.

- Do you think Nice by Nature ice lollies would appeal more to younger (3-6) or older (7-12) children? Why?

I think they will appeal to both age groups if they like smoothies but probably more the younger age group who will be attracted to the fruity taste.

- Would you recommend Nice by Nature ice lollies to your friends or family?

I would suggest they tried them if they were on offer but not at full price.

We all enjoyed them.
They were refreshing.

  • What did you/your child like or dislike about Nice By Nature ice lollies?

The packaging looked good. The lollies tasted good although not very strong. Dried mango puree might have improved it or more flavoursome mangoes.
The colour wasn't very strong which is understandable.

  • Do you think Nice by Nature ice lollies would appeal more to younger (3-6) or older (7-12) children? Why?

I think both would enjoy them but they might appeal to parents of younger children who are more concerned about diet.

  • Would you recommend Nice by Nature ice lollies to your friends or family?

Yes

My 18 month old enjoyed hers but my 6 year old did not enjoy the banana flavour she said they had. My little taste was delicious and I was pleased they were all fruit and a very small calorie amount per lolly. I would buy them again for my little one so I think they would be most suited to around 3 year old children. I don’t think I could persuade my oldest to have another one!

Would you be interested in trying any of the other flavours? In theory, yes, but I suspect I'd have a hard job persuading the kids to even try them.

Overall, how satisfied were you and your family with the Nice by Nature ice lollies?
Not a great colour, rock solid, and unplesent taste. Even given the excessive heat over the past few days, I've not managed to persuade anyone to have a second one

What did you/your child like or dislike about Nice By Nature ice lollies? not popular in this house. The 10 year old finished his, but the 8 year old rejected it after the second bite. Too hard, horrible taste (and they love mango).

Do you think Nice by Nature ice lollies would appeal more to younger (3-6) or older (7-12) children? Why? probably the younger ones, before branding takes over.
Would you recommend Nice by Nature ice lollies to your friends or family? I'd probably try the berry flavour, but I dont think anyone else in the house would be keen.

Which flavour of Nice by Nature ice lollies did you choose to test?

I was asked to try Apple and Blackcurrant but the only ones available in my local Tesco were Strawberry and Raspberry, so we got those instead. Sorry.

  • Would you be interested in trying any of the other flavours?

Beforehand, I thought thy all sounded nice so would have been happy with any. However, having tried Strawberry and Raspberry, I don't think I would try any others.

  • Overall, how satisfied were you and your family with the Nice by Nature ice lollies?

Not very, unfortunately.

  • What did you/your child like or dislike about Nice By Nature ice lollies?

I liked the idea of them a lot, as I am not happy about the amount of sugar in normal ice lollies and we all like fruit a great deal. We sometimes make our own smoothies/ice lollies which are quite successful (but time consuming and messy), so I was pleased to have a (potential) alternative. I also liked the packaging and the look of the ice lollies (nice colour, good size and shape).

However, unfortunately, none of us liked the taste. We all decided that they were too bland and resembled frozen (but quite tasteless) smoothies. All I could make out was banana. They did not taste like fresh fruit at all.

  • Do you think Nice by Nature ice lollies would appeal more to younger (3-6) or older (7-12) children? Why?

I think younger children, definitely. They are too bland for older kids and adults.

  • Would you recommend Nice by Nature ice lollies to your friends or family?

Only if they had small children (toddlers). I can imagine my nephew, who is almost 2, would really like them. Unfortunately, me and my kids (aged 11 and 14) did not!

  • Which flavour of Nice by Nature ice lollies did you choose to test?

We tested mango and banana as this was the only flavour available at my Tesco’s.

  • Would you be interested in trying any of the other flavours?

Yes we would. Both the other flavours sounded good.

  • Overall, how satisfied were you and your family with the Nice by Nature ice lollies?

As a family we liked the shape and texture of the lollies. We enjoyed the taste. They tasted good with only 22 calories and no added sugar. We would buy again.

  • What did you/your child like or dislike about Nice By Nature ice lollies?

We liked the shape and texture of the lollies. We thought mango and banana flavour tasted good. With teenagers, they would have like them to be a bit bigger.

  • Do you think Nice by Nature ice lollies would appeal more to younger (3-6) or older (7-12) children? Why?

I think they probably would appeal to younger children. Perhaps Tesco could launch two sizes of these lollies? My children enjoyed the fact that they were healthy but still tasted good.

  • Would you recommend Nice by Nature ice lollies to your friends or family?

I would and have recommended Nice by Nature lollies to friends and family but I do think that £3 is too high a price and so I would wait for them to be on offer.

Thanks Tesco and Mumsnet for the chance to test these lollies.

Which flavour of Nice by Nature ice lollies did you choose to test? We tested the strawberry and raspberry flavour.

  • Would you be interested in trying any of the other flavours? Yes. Was disappointed you didn’t do a mixed box of flavours!

  • Overall, how satisfied were you and your family with the Nice by Nature ice lollies?

The texture was a little off putting. We expected sorbet or ice cream texture but this was neither.

  • What did you/your child like or dislike about Nice By Nature ice lollies?

The texture.

  • Do you think Nice by Nature ice lollies would appeal more to younger (3-6) or older (7-12) children? Why?

Definitely younger children. Older child didn’t find them sweet enough!

  • Would you recommend Nice by Nature ice lollies to your friends or family?

Yes. I like that they are dairy free and also healthy.

As extra feedback: the packaging was good but the ‘cards’ on the pack were useless as it’s a frozen item the box became soggy! If this is a selling point you may want to think about how to stop the cards become wet in freezer.
Also a mixed pack of flavours would be good. And make it more apparent on packaging that they are milk free as I expected them to contain yoghurt or cream etc and loved that they were just pure fruit!

  • Which flavour of Nice by Nature ice lollies did you choose to test?

Raspberry and strawberry.

  • Would you be interested in trying any of the other flavours?

No

  • Overall, how satisfied were you and your family with the Nice by Nature ice lollies?

I’d say moderately. I liked the idea of pure fruit purée and no added sugar.

What did you/your child like or dislike about Nice By Nature ice lollies?

None of my boys (3,6 and 9) liked them at all. They complained that they didn’t taste of anything much. Both my husband I agreed they smelled lovely but were seriously lacking in flavour. We are not frequent purchasers of ice lollies, and I guess when we do buy we have got used to more added / concentrated / sugary flavours.

I was initially impressed with the packaging: card with no plastic window. But was disappointed by the individual plastic wrappers. I think I’m this day and age, companies releasing anew product should be thinking hard about sustainable packaging.

  • Do you think Nice by Nature ice lollies would appeal more to younger (3-6) or older (7-12) children? Why?

Neither really, see above. Maybe you get children who have had less exposure to artificial / stronger flavours so have different expectations.

  • Would you recommend Nice by Nature ice lollies to your friends or family?

I’d definitely suggest they try, as I think they’re a healthier option.

•Do you think Nice by Nature ice lollies would appeal more to younger (3-6) or older (7-12) children? Why?

I would say they would appeal to younger children as they are more likely to eat a fruit lolly than an older child.

•Would you recommend Nice by Nature ice lollies to your friends or family?

Yes I would, but personally I would only buy them when on offer as they seem a little expensive to me. I do freeze fruit purée pouches into ice pop moulds and make my own and these tasted very similar.

Definitely the mango one!

  • Overall, how satisfied were you and your family with the Nice by Nature ice lollies?

Satisfied with the taste and texture, not so much with the iciness!

  • What did you/your child like or dislike about Nice By Nature ice lollies?

Said it tasted just like an Innocent smoothie on a stick (this is a good thing!)

Downside: the lollies were a bit frosted up within the package, and her tongue stuck to it at first lick! Not sure if this was fault with the Tesco freezer (the box was also icy) or because the packaging for these lollies is a bit flimsier than others.

  • Do you think Nice by Nature ice lollies would appeal more to younger (3-6) or older (7-12) children? Why?

Aged over 7 "because I don't think that under sixes would like burnt tongues"!

I liked the fact the ice lollies had no added sugar, My toddler was a bit too young for how hard they were so I ended up eating his the few times we tried - but think that's personal to him. The older kids (8&10) enjoyed them but are allowed the odd sugary lolly so did notice the 'healthiness'.
