  • my baby is 6 months old and I had the size 3 nappies

-my first impressions of the nappies were that they were very soft to touch, did not rustle, beautiful design and relatively thin
-I love the design but my favourite thing about the nappies is that they are very soft. The inner padding was also very soft
-I choose cloud and star design (green)
-I wouldn't say I used the nappies as a tool to talk to my baby but I suppose I did say a few time about how pretty they were to her
-I would definitely recommend these nappies. I think in Summer, especially for girls , they would look lovely under dresses. But aside from the appearance they worked well and we did not have any leakage

My baby is 12weeks old and we had the size 3 nappies.

I really liked the feel and design of them. My toddler pointed out the characters too. I didn't like not knowing if it had been used as other brands have a colour changing stripe.

I really liked that they have leaked less than other nappies, however they do look bigger on her!

We had the animal design, very cute. My toddler helped to talk to baby by telling her what animals were on them. When she wasn't around I sang nursery rhymes inc the animals as it is my coping mechanism for smelly nappies!

Yes I would recommendthem especially if someone wanted a more biodegradable nappy.

  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use? Baby is 14 weeks, we used Size 3
  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? Loved the design and softness of the nappies. But my baby seemed to cry for changing over an hour sooner than with our usual nappies and we found they weren’t as absorbent.
  • What did you like most about the nappies? The designs
  • Which nappychat design did you choose? The blue design
  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby: we talked about each animal that was on the nappy and learnt the baby sign for each animal to do along with it!
  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend? Unfortunately the nappies were just not good enough, and the price I find extortionate especially considering they seem lower quality that the pampers we use normally.

  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

The baby I tested the nappies on is 9 month old. We used size 3.

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

They were fine. I didn't feel they performed any better or worse than the leading brand or supermarket ones. I particularly liked how soft they were.

  • What did you like most about the nappies?

The softness. They are notably softer than other nappies.

  • Which nappychat design did you choose

The one I had had stars on them.

  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby

DD2 always grabs the nappies when being changed and she seemed to particularly like the design. I didn't chat to her about it much.

  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?

Yes, if they were sold at the right price.

  • my baby is 5 months old and we had the size 3.
  • the nappies were lovely and soft to touch, and didn't restrict movement. They held a whole night's wee well, and seemed to reduce her nappy rash. Unfortunately they did not stand up to her poonamis, but no nappies except cloth nappies do.
  • we chose the cat nappy chat design, but tbh I forgot that I was supposed to do the stories, so we didn't actually do them
*I would recommend these, depending on price, to a less poonami prone baby.

How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

5 months old, size 3.

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

Loved how soft they were, but they seemed quite loose fitting. Had some leaks - not sure if this was because they're slightly bigger than the pampers size 3?

  • What did you like most about the nappies?

How soft they were

  • Which nappychat design did you choose?

Green

  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby

I showered him the nappies and ooh yes out the colours

  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?

Possibly, although I'm going to wait a month or so before using again to see if they're leaky or just a bit big?

How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

My DS is 8 months and we have been using the size 3 nappies.

  • *What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

*
When I first got the nappies out of the packet, the first thing that I noticed was how soft they were! The design of them are lovely and cute, very different to your standard supermarket nappies. I noticed the nappies were quite thin so I was slightly skeptic about how absorbent they would be, especially overnight. However, the nappies held up for a good 11 hours overnight with no leaks.
I I found the fit of the mum and you nappies to be a lot better than the nappies we were already using; the sticky tabs were very stretchy. I also found that the nappies smelt very nice even after my son had filled them so they contained odours very well.
The only criticism I would have is that the sticky tabs could be better in a brighter colour to distinguish between back and front. My DP found that he kept putting them on back to front, although I had no problems so I think he just needs to look what he’s doing better!

- What did you like most about the nappies?
I probably liked the texture of the nappies ghe best; they are very soft. DS has started getting sore on his back from where the nappy sits when using our main brand, but this cleared up after a few days of using the mum and you nappies

- Which nappychat design did you choose?

I chose the animal friends nappy chat design

- Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby

I didn’t religiously use the nappychat design to engage DS during nappy changes because he is too busy trying to escape. Although, I did name and point at the different characters and went though the noises that each animal made; he seemed to enjoy this. I think the nappychat aspect would work a lot better for slightly younger babies who aren’t starting to move yet as you haven’t got the worry of them moving off mid nappy change and so can take your time a bit more.

Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?

Yes, I would definitely recommend these nappies

DS is 5 months old we used size 3 nappies.
We used the design with animal pictures on them. I didn't use the nappychat characters particularly and I don't think flashards about them would have made any difference. We usually use Aldi nappies which have animal pictures on and don't talk about those either.
Positives: the nappies are lovely and soft to the touch and didn't leave marks on baby's bum. They are also quite thin and not too bulky.
Negatives: it would be handy to have a front/ back marker and a colour change indicator strip. I feel they don't contain urine smells as well as some other nappies and baby was very smelly in the morning. We had a couple of leaks when he'd been sitting up for a while. I particularly find the brand name retrograde and grating.
If these nappies where priced similarly to supermarket own brand nappies I would use them again but I wouldn't go out of my way for them.

. My baby is four months old, and we used the size 2 nappies.
. My first impressions that they were incredibly soft, and looked so much more 'fun' than other nappies! They fit my son beautifully, which is really hard to find in a nappy as he's quite long and skinny. I however, did find they leaked quite badly for us. DS is quite a 'heavy wetter' and found that the nappies didn't seem able to hold urine for more than a couple of hours. Found it a bit annoying that there was no indicator strip to see if the nappy was wet. I think as time went on if I was using these long term, the fact there isn't a number clearly on the nappy to indicate size would annoy me.
. I really liked how soft they were. They were also really compact, and fitted well under clothes where other brand can be quite bulky.
. We had the design with the animals
. I just ended up listing all the animals off to DS while he just laughed at me his stinky farts and wondered what on earth I was on about.
. I really wouldn't recommend them. We had so many middle of the night clothing/bedding changes, which frustrated DS as well as me. It's all well and good them being biodegradable, but we went through 72 in around a week! A lot more than the Waitrose nappies normally use. The price wouldn't be as much of an issue if they seemed to be able to withstand wee a bit better.

  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

My baby is 8 months old and we used size 3 nappies.

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

My first impression of the nappies was very positive. They felt incredibly soft and I was pleased to try them. Unfortunately, they were a bit shorter than the usual nappies we use (Pampers size 3) and my baby is long and thin, so they didn’t fit her body shape particularly well. I found that they leaked quite often- not particularly badly but they often left my baby’s vest damp. We did not use the full pack for this reason.

  • What did you like most about the nappies?

I liked how soft they were and the designs were nice.

  • Which nappychat design did you choose?

Animal friends.

  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby

My baby is too busy trying to escape whilst nappy changing to be able to tell stories about characters on her nappy. I noted they were clear designs. I do talk and sing to her while she’s being changed but I’m not particularly interested in this feature.

  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?

Probably not- they are very expensive to buy and didn’t work for us.

  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

DS is 6 months, nappy size 4

- What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
Unfortunately not very good! He design was ok, felt a little flimsy but think DS found comfortable but we had 2 episodes of leaking which we have never had in our other nappies.

- What did you like most about the nappies?
They are very sort so DS comfortable

  • Which nappychat design did you choose?

We had the animals- giraffe, elephant and cats

- Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby
I did point out the animals but as DS was only 6 months he was more interested in trying to eat it Grin Can imagine this is good with older babies however.

- Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?
Unfortunately no, have come across other much cheaper and nicer designed nappies at a cheaper price. I couldn't recommend something where he was leaking through and this was within an hour of putting on. Considering our preferred nappy is cheaper and he doesn't leak I wouldn't want to recommend!

DS is 6 months old, and we used the size 3. Overall I was happy with the nappies, however I did miss the lack of the wetness indicator that other brands have. The ‘nappy chat’ seems like a bit of a gimmick, as again other brands do have images of animals on their nappies too. My DS did seem more wingey and unsettled when he was wet in these nappies, compared to usual, however I can’t say for sure this was because of the nappies! The nappies are thin, and soft to the touch, and also seem a little wider around the belly, which are all good factors.
I most liked how soft that are.
We chose the animals design.
When we first received the nappies I did talk through the animals with my DS, but other than that I did not use the animals as a talking point.
If these were available in supermarkets I most likely would recommend a friend to try them, however I do not think my friends would be interest in subscription nappies.

My baby girl is 3 months old so I used sized 2 nappies in the grey cloud design. She actually weighs more than the recommended weight for that size, but she’s slim so they fit well.

I love how thin and soft the nappies are. They don’t have that plastic, crinkle feeling. They feel like soft cotton. They’re really absorbent and managed to contain even the biggest poo explosion! The design is really cute, but didn’t encourage me to talk to her. If the aim is to inspire stories, the characters really need to be ‘doing’ something and perhaps have variation between nappies in the pack.

I would recommend these to parents of newborns as the shape seems to cut lower below the belly button, which would have been really helpful to avoid the cord stump.

My only negatives - no blue line to show when wet. They’re also too expensive for me. They cost about 8x the amount my usual supermarket ones do. They are better, but probably not 8x better.

14 weeks old and size 3. She had a growth spurt and needed size 4, I got in touch and Mum & You very kindly sent me the size I needed so I could still test!!

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I loved them! I liked the design and how soft they were.

  • What did you like most about the nappies?

It has to be the softness of them they were like cotton.

  • Which nappychat design did you choose?

We had he green and pink clouds and stars design.

  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby

We didn’t really do this. She is always too busy kicking around to bother to listen to me during changes!

  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?

Absolutely! I really liked everything about them to be honest!

  1. I tested size 2 with my 6 week old son.

  1. I really loved these nappies, they were super soft, cute design, comfortable and did not leak once. I was expecting them to leak as they are thinner and softer than some other nappies.

  1. He has white and blue animals.

  1. I do not really get the idea of nappy chat to be honest. Changing a nappy is not activity time for a child, you want to get it changed as quick as possible and babies could not care less what nappies they wear as long they do the job.

  1. I would but I doubt many friends would go for them, while I loved the nappies they are not so amazing to justify the extra cost. They are very expensive compared to supermarket brands.

I tried the size 3 nappies on my 6months old baby. We had the green design one and I would point out the pictures to her, but generally lack enough imagination to make up stories!

I loved how soft these were... I alternate between reusable and disposable nappies normally and these felt much nicer than any other disposable ones I’ve tried. They were also nice and slim and the tab length was good. We didn’t have any leaks from leg holes or up back so the fit seemed excellent.

Sadly the absorbency of these nappies was just not good enough- after 2 nights of having to change her at 4am because the babygrow was wet- not from leaks, but just the whole nappy being soaked through- we went back to Tesco nappies for the overnights and used these only during the day.

I’m not sure if I would recommend them to friends- there’s a lot to love, but having to change that often when the nappies are so much more expensive means I can’t see many people buying them- in my group of friends, who I’d consider slightly above average levels of hippy/crunchie people seem willing to pay about 20% extra for biodegradable- but at the current price point i think most people would buy cloth nappies instead.

  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

Baby is 15 weeks old, following 75th Centile and we used size 3

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I liked them overall. Loved how soft they were. The sizing is generous and they are very stretchy which makes it feel like you have a good fit.
They didn’t leak as such but baby’s vest did feel sort of damp which I’ve also found with Pampers nappies but not other ‘eco’ nappies.
I see that these are advertised as eco nappies but couldn’t find info about what gives them those credentials. This was disappointing.
I found them being bright blue off putting. The packaging does state that there is no dye in the part which is in contact with baby but I still didn’t like so much dye.

  • What did you like most about the nappies?

The softness. By far the softest I’ve used.

  • Which nappychat design did you choose?

The blue one.

  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby

I didn’t use the designs at all. I found this feature (unfortunately seemingly the main selling point) to be a bit pointless. The baby can’t see the designs unless you leave them nappy-less for a bit and risk an al fresco situation. I chat to my baby when changing her nappy anyway, and usually use whatever animals / toys are lying around near the changing mat.

  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?

I would for their softness. If it turns out their eco credentials are similar to that of Naty and Kit & Kin then I would recommend them on that basis. Otherwise not. They’re very expensive.

  • How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

My baby is 9 weeks, we used size 2, which fits just right.

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

Very soft to the touch and playful design. Lovely texture. I didn't like the fact that they don't have wetness indicators, which most other nappies seem to. Seems a bit odd especially as they are so pricey. The name of the brand is naff as well - obviously it's not only mums who use nappies!

  • What did you like most about the nappies?

The fit was good and they felt really nice and soft.

  • Which nappychat design did you choose?

The blue and pink ones with animals.

  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby

I didn't at all. By the time I've taken a nappy off I need to be quite quick to get a new one on to prevent the fountain of pee which usually ensues, so no time to stand and show the nappy to him first. To be honest, I think I'd really struggle to chat about the nappies even if I could, beyond pointing out the names of the animals etc. Maybe I'm just singularly unimaginative but they didn't inspire me to make up a story...

  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend? Not really, they're soft and pretty but I don't think looks are that important for baby underwear! Surely it's really only the caregiver who will ever see them? I think for the price you don't really get anything you don't from a standard supermarket nappy - and minus the wetness indicator!

How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
My baby is nearly 12 weeks old and we tested size 3 nappies

  • What was your overall impression of Mum & You Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

They were much softer than other nappies and the design was fun. They were easy to get on to a wriggly baby. But they leaked a lot more than our usual nappies. So much so that we went back to using our usual ones overnight as couldn’t deal with the poo through at 2am!

  • What did you like most about the nappies?

The texture/feel of them. They are much softer than other nappies.

  • Which nappychat design did you choose?

The weather design.

  • Describe if/how you used the nappychat designs to talk with your baby

I didn’t think that the design lent itself to chatting. Who talks to their 12 week old about the weather?! I’d prefer it if the designs were based on nursery rhymes, it would encourage you to sing the nursery rhyme to your baby whilst changing.
Also, some of the pictures should face towards the baby so they can see them also - mainly relevant for older children obviously!

  • Would you recommend these nappies to a friend?

No because of the leaking.

My 6months old girl wore the green designs in size three.

Loved how soft they were, the fit and the lack of bulkiness.
Chatted to baby about the pics but didn’t make up stories.
Found the fabric became saturated quickly and vests ended up damp but didn’t have any leg leaks which was great.

Would recommend for babies who don’t wet heavily, but I think the price point is too high for most people.

Brilliant nappies. My daughter is 11 weeks old, born 9lb 11, now on Size 2 nappies. Loved the design of clouds and stars my other daughter who is nearly 3 likes to talk about them and started to help! The nappies are way more absorbent than others e.g. Aldi, and feel really soft/ no signs of nappy rash after use. They are quite luxurious more so than pampers and it feels really good knowing they are eco friendly too. Will be buying these , liked the bulk buy offer on their website. Found it interesting looking at who developed the company too on their website, family friendly and will be reccomedning them.

  1. Dd is 3 months and we tested size 3. She is a big baby and size 3 is what we use in our usual brands.

  1. I thought they were very soft, a lot less bulky and didn't rustle as much as the normal brand we use. Design was lovely too.

However they didn't seem to be waterproof, in that the nappies seemed to leak all over rather than at edges where nappies usually would lean from. It seemed to make her clothes damp all over the nappy area. Oddly we did manage one full night with no leaks or dampness but every other use of these resulted in dampness, sometimes full on leaks. So unfortunately I stopped using them.

  1. The softness. They were so soft in comparison to other nappies.

  1. We used the weather ones with stars and clouds on.

  1. I didn't particularly use the design to talk to her but ds(3) talked about the pictures if he was around during nappy change time. Maybe they will be better for older babies who can point and show an interest whereas dd is only 3months. Also agree that having different designs in the same pack would be a good way of getting us to talk about them as they'll be different each. So big sun with a face, next one a moon, next one lots of stars, a rainbow etc.

  1. I'm afraid I wouldn't recommend these due to the dampness coming through which meant I had to change her vest every nappy change and also the price is considerably more than we usually pay/friends pay.

I'm not a tester, but am I the only person who is a bit Hmm about the name "Mum & You" for nappies? As if mums are the only people who change nappies. Quite subliminally excluding for anyone else.

I'm pretty sure my DH did more nappy changes than I did (he was a stay at home dad). He was used to being "erased" in public - Mother & Baby rooms, Mum & Toddler groups etc - but that didn't mean he was happy about it. Change the name? "Me & You"?

Apologies everyone, honestly not trying to derail.
