This thread is for the 280 Mumsnetters who tested Lidl Lupilu Nappies with their DCs. If you're wondering where to get the best bargains for baby products, Mumsnetters' have picked out their favourite buys from the Lupilu range here

The following items were tested:
Size 1 Newborn Nappies 24 pack £1.09
Size 2 Newborn Mini Nappies 44 pack £2.19
Size 3 Midi (4-9kg) 56 pack £3.49
Size 4 Maxi (7-18kg) 50 pack £3.49
Size 4+ Maxi Plus Nappies (9-20kg) 44 pack £3.49
Size 5+ Junior Plus Nappies (13-27kg) 36 pack £3.09
Size 6+ Extra Large Plus Nappies (16+kg) 26 pack £3.29

Here’s what Lidl have to say about the product:
"Lidl knows the most important things when choosing a nappy are dryness, protection and comfort. That's why we ensure ultimate dryness and leakage protection, and last year Mumsnetters asked for a wetness indicator on size 1 Newborn Nappies, so we added one!”

“There is no need to pay a premium price for a premium nappy, our prices are low but our quality is high. Our nappies are dermatologically tested, latex free, skin-friendly and independently tested. Protecting the environment is also important, therefore the padding used is from sustainably managed forests. The slim design means less materials, less packaging and less energy, helping to minimise our carbon footprint.”

Below are some questions we’d like you to answer, but feel free to add any other comments you may have.

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
  3. Would you recommend these nappies to a friend if they came up in conversation?
  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Nappies again in the future? If so why?

All testers who leave their feedback on site and complete the short survey we sent to you will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 Love2Shop voucher!

    Thanks and good luck

18 months, size 4.

I liked these. They felt like they were a decent quality, previously I have thought Lidl nappies had a plastic feel. They weren't bulky and didn't leak.

There was nothing I disliked.

I would recommend these and would buy them in the future.

  1. Size 5+ 18 months

  2. I liked how they were thin and not bulky. Very comfortable for an active toddler! I was worried they wouldn’t be as absorbant but they were fine overnight. Cute pictures too! Just a bit odd that there’s no size 5?

  3. yes I would recommend them to a friend

  4. and I would buy them- they’re good value for money.

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

Baby is 8 months old and we tested size 3 nappies.

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I liked the design of them, I liked the size of them, they fit very well (by comparison I’ve found Aldi nappies to be a bit small compared to other brands of a similar size.) They arrived just as my LO got a really bad stomach bug so these poor nappies have had to cope with a lot of very runny poops! We’ve only had a couple of leaks and honestly I don’t think any nappy would have held the contents 🤢 My LO has been very comfortable in them and they haven’t been too bulky around her. I haven’t disliked anything.

  3. Would you recommend these nappies to a friend if they came up in conversation?

    Yes definitely.

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Nappies again in the future? If so why?

I would, I like the design, functionality and the price seems pretty good too. Unfortunately I don’t live near a Lidl.

  1. Age 14 weeks and size 3 nappies

  1. I thought these nappies were fantastic. We have so far tried Boots, Aldi and Pampers in a size 3 product and the Lidl nappies are far superior to all of these. They are slim in design so aren't bulky under DS's clothes. They fit well and have enough stretch to be comfortable when DS is wearing them. They are also super absorbent - DS has slept through twice while wearing the Lidl nappies. The illustrations on the nappies are also appealing and very cute for little ones. I don't dislike anything about the nappies - they really are great.

  1. I have already recommended the nappies to two friends and DSIL.

  1. I will definitely purchase Lidl's nappies again! The price makes them fantastic value for money, and luckily we have a Lidl just around the corner.

    22 months, size 6+.
  1. I was really impressed. They were light and slim, and less bulky than our usual Aldi nappies. There was actually nothing I didn't like. The best thing was that for our front sleeping baby, they didn't leak at the front, and normally we have to buy pampers to manage that!
  2. Yes, I would.
  3. I would. It would be a challenge as I don't often get it to Lidl, but I would buy them again, definitely. And cheap at the price.

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

    25 months, size 5+

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

They felt nice and soft, seam very absorbant and I liked the range of different designs in the pack. Sometimes my daughter has typical toddler tantrums about having her nappy changed but she loves penguins and to be able to let her choose a nappy with a penguin on really help her cheer up.

  3. Would you recommend these nappies to a friend if they came up in conversation?

    Yes definitely

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Nappies again in the future? If so why?

Yes if i was shopping in Lidl. I think the price is ok and the quality is good.

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?
Baby is 5 weeks old and I tested size 2 nappies

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
I liked the colours and the branding, they had the same visible wetness test that my usual nappies do, the green tabs standout so are easy to find mid changing a wiggly baby.

  3. Would you recommend these nappies to a friend if they came up in conversation?
Probably not, I found they were a bit 'scratchier' than my usual brand, the tabs weren't as stretchy and whilst they were better than I expected from a budget brand they weren't as good quality as the ones I usually buy. To me comfort is more important than price.

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Nappies again in the future? If so why? No I wouldn't, I don't go to Lidl and I don't think these are as comfy as our usual brand. I don't think they are bad quality for the price but they're not so cheap that it's worth me travelling to the other side of town to buy them.

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use? Twin boys aged 4 months. Size 3.
  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them? At first they appear to be thinner than other brands which had me questioning how reliable they would be but it turns out this had no bearing on their absorbency or performance. The material is nice and soft. The patterns printed on them are visually appealing and the tapes at the front are green, which stands out from other brands.
  3. Would you recommend these nappies to a friend if they came up in conversation? Yes, definitely.
  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Nappies again in the future? If so why? Yes I would. After a full nights sleep of around 10 hours my babies skin wasn’t even slightly damp so their absorbency is fantastic even when already quite full.

    4 1/2 years old - 6+

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
Very good. We've tried lots of nappies and we like these. DD loved the pictures on them. They are only used at night time and so far they haven't leaked and DD is happy in them.

  3. Would you recommend these nappies to a friend if they came up in conversation?
More than happy to recommend them

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Nappies again in the future? If so why?
Yes, I'd definitely buy them. They're good value for money and they work. There is a new Lidl just round then corner from where I work so it'll be easy to pick them up. What's not to like Smile

  1. Size 3 on my 4.5 month old daughter.

  2. I really liked them. The are of a nice design and felt softer and thinner than the Aldi and Morrison's nappies that I usually use. Being thinner I wasn't sure if they would hold overnight as I usually manage to get through the night without a change if just wee. They kept her dry without leaking. They have also contained some major poos so I have no complaints.

  3. Yes I'd definitely recommend them. Why pay more?

  4. I will definitely buy again. I liked them much more than my usual brand as they were thinner and softer. I imagine that must make them more comfortable for baby.

    Child (4/5)

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

They was not bad and the cartoon designs on them are great for speical needs children but dislike the tabs not stretchy enough and the cloth strips need better grib and sometimes rip when place tabs on them.

  3. Would you recommend these nappies to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Yes due to no leaking and price and cute designs

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Nappies again in the future? If so why?

I would like to see them in BIGGER sizes like 7 or 8 or 9 for children with special needs has they are always a huge demand for them !

    Ten weeks

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I have to say these didn’t work for my son. Tight in the leg and torso, I’d say they have an upper limit of 5 not 6kg.

  3. Would you recommend these nappies to a friend if they came up in conversation?

    I’m afraid not

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Nappies again in the future? If so why?

No, and that’s because the others in the price range, Asda and Aldi seem to be a higher quality product with greater leg space, softer quilting and longer tabs.

  1. How old is your baby/ child who you tested the nappies on, and which size did you use?

My baby is 5 1/2 months old and we tested size 3.

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I was really impressed by the Lupilu nappies. On first impression the packaging and the nappies has a lovely, gender neutral design, and seemed lighter weight than I had expected, which made me think they would perhaps not cope with leaks. My baby had a mild stomach bug during our testing period and so they had a lot of poo to cope with- and whilst using these nappies we didn’t have any leaks! The nappies fit my baby really well and didn’t seem to irritate her.

  3. Would you recommend these nappies to a friend if they came up in conversation?

I will definitely be recommending these nappies to other mums.

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Nappies again in the future? If so why?
I will definitely be buying these nappies in the future. The quality and lack of leaks has impressed me and they fit my baby really well.

My first impression on looking at them was they didn't look as nice as other brands we have previously used. However on using them they are fab! The nappy is a great size, feels sturdy and so very secure and absorbent , felt like it as a much better fit for DS then other brands .

  3. Yes, I would recommend since they have performed as well as more expensive brand-name nappies.
  4. Yes, I would buy them. Inexpensive and do the job well. Would like it if all sizes came with wetness indicators - getting nappies on and off a 10-month old is like wrestling a cobra!

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl’s Lupilu Nappies? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
Nice design. Liked the feel of them. They look more expensive than they are. I’ve always liked the colour changing strip on pampers, could be worth considering something like this?
I’m not entirely convinced by the name, sounds a bit weird maybe?
