This thread is for the 250 Mumsnetters who tested Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants with their DCs.

The following items were tested:

Junior Smart Pants Size 5 for weights: 29-44lbs 13-20kg - 20 in a pack (RRP £2.09)
Junior Nappies Big / XL Smart Pants Size 6 for weights: 35+ lbs 16+ kg - 18 in a pack (RRP £2.09)

Here’s what Lidl have to say about the products: "Lidl knows the most important things when choosing a nappy are dryness, protection and comfort. That's why we ensure ultimate dryness and leakage protection with a super absorbent core. They're extra soft and flexible with a stretchy waistband. There is no need to pay a premium price for a premium nappy, our prices are low but our quality is high. Our nappies are dermatologically tested, latex free, skin-friendly and independently tested. Protecting the environment is also important, therefore the padding used is from sustainably managed forests. The slim design means less materials, less packaging and less energy, helping to minimize our carbon footprint."

Below are some questions we’d like you to answer, but feel free to add any other comments you may have.

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

  1. We tried size 5, on my dts who are almost 4. They only wear them at night.
  2. The kids found them easy to put on themselves (they don't have Velcro at the sides like some), there's no leaks, even from my son, who pees like a racehorse all night. And the few poos that have been had in them have been well contained. Kids have found them comfortable too.

I like the sticky bit to wrap them up, and the kids love the designs on them (much nicer than some others we've tried).
  1. Yes, they are fantastic.
  2. Again Yes, we've already bought another pack. No leaks, cheap, cheerful and comfortable, what's not to like? And the kids love the independence of being able to put them on themselves, unlike the huggies which tend to seperate at the velcro sides, and the asda ones which rumple up and twist.

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

My daughter is 22 months, and we tried the size 5

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

Pack 1: I liked that they were very compact and neat, perfect for popping in my handbag instead of carting a full changing bag around. The sides were very easy to tear, which made quick changes easy and my DD loved the fun animal pictures on them. No leaks, even overnight. they were however, quite large, much more so than pack 2 and rode down a little bit if DD didn't have a popper vest on.

Pack 2: I liked these best out of the two packs, the super stretchy waist meant they fit nice and snugly and held up well. They were very soft and comfortable feeling and very absorbent. I really enjoyed using these for my DD. My only complaint is that the sides were a little difficult to tear, and often didn't tear along the intended perforations.

  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

Absolutely, they easily beat the other own brand nappies I've tried and are cheap too!

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

Yes, especially pack 2, they are stretchier and more absorbent than the nappies I usually buy, didn't leak once and DD loved the animal designs.

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

DS is 2 and we tested size 5

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

We received 2 packs in the post and I wasn’t sure what the significance of the 2 packs was. They were both pull ups but one was a “new” style.

I liked them both - the “older” style had a more elasticated waist than the “New” ones which was more like the Pampers pull up waist and I thought I’d prefer this as it might fit more snugly but actually the flatter waist and fit well and was more comfortable to wear with fewer seams and less bunched material.
They held in lots of runny poo (Bit of a tummy bug) and some huge wees and when we went back to our Aldi nappies we immediately had a leak which had been common before we started using the Lidl Nappies.
I liked the sticky strip for sealing the used nappies and the designs.

  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
    Definitely

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?
Yes, great value for money and as good as Pampers and better than Aldi!

    2yrs, size 5

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?
The had a nice design, easy to use - the 2 packs were very different shapes/sizes yet both fitted well. The sticky tab at the back is a useful feature! (I still prefer nappies than pull ups; hate having to strip bottom half of child completely to put a new pair on! Good for a potty training child at night time though!)

  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?
Maybe, if it came up - they work and are a good price but as above, I think nappies are more practical than pull ups.

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?
I wouldn't as all my DC are now out of nappies completely (youngest trained between applying to test and packs arriving so tested on my nephew!)

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?
I probably would buy again in the future. Although Pampers have just brought out a size 7 range, which I might try. It'd be great if Lidl would introduce a size 7 into their range.

  1. How old is your child who you tested the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants on, and which size did you use?

I used them on my chunky 10 month old and my slim 2 year old and both used the size 5. The baby had the stretchy pants because she’s crawling and my toddler had the more fitted pants.

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

I preferred the stretchy ones but bithe seemed comfortable and absorbent. I loved that the blue tape on the back was extra thick and sticky, which made disposal of the nappies easier. Some supermarket nappies are missing the tape.

My son is 2 and a half, we tested size 5.

  2. What was your overall impression of Lidl's Lupilu Pull-Up Pants? What did you like and what, if anything, did you dislike about them?

Great. Loved the cute design. My son found them comfortable and there was no leaks. Nothing I. Particularlydisliked.

  3. Would you recommend the Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants to a friend if they came up in conversation?

    Sure

  4. Would you buy Lidl Lupilu Pull-Up Pants again in the future? If so why?

My son is neatly potty trained now so just wears pull ups at night so hopefully we are coming to the end of needing pull ups anyways. I probably wouldn't go.out of my way to go to.lidl for these because I have other supermarkets nearer. So there great nappies but I haven't really got a lidl that near.

Before I fill out the feedback could someone please remind me which of the two packs were quality 1 and which were quality 2. I think quality 1 are the stiffer less stretchy ones and quality 2 the softer ones with more stretch side bits - is that right? I finished the packs a week or more ago and have thrown the packaging away in error forgetting i needed to do some feedback.
