Homebase are looking for 10 Mumsnetters to take part in their Garden Goals challenge. This challenge is open to all UK Mumsnetters, click here to sign up to take part.

Here’s what Homebase has to say: “We have teamed up with Anne-Marie Powell to launch our Garden Goals challenge to help families get their outside spaces ready for summer. We want to encourage those of all gardening abilities to complete a garden project; whether that be creating an edible garden, creating a patio garden, adding colour to your garden, encouraging wildlife to your garden or creating a garden for entertaining.”

Watch this short video to find out more:

Those who take part will be given a £100 Homebase voucher and a shopping list so they can gather everything they need to create their dream garden. Participants will undertake a one hour garden task, a half a day garden task, and a day's garden task of their choosing over 8 weeks and will leave updates on their progress each week on a thread on Mumsnet. We’d also want to see before, during and after photos of your green fingered creations! And for you to share your photos on social media using the #GardenGoals.

The five Garden Goals projects to choose from are:

“I want to create an edible garden”
“I want to create a patio garden”
“I want to add colour to my garden”
“I want to encourage wildlife into my garden”
“I want to create a garden for entertaining”

You can pick the one you want to take part in. And you will need to get the items required from your local Homebase store - you will be sent a shopping list for your selected task.

Note the tasks will begin w/c 8th May - please only apply if you’re around and able to work on your outside space then and for the following 8 weeks or so.

Everyone who leaves their feedback as required will be entered into a prize draw where one tester will win a £300 Homebase voucher.

Please sign up here if you’d like to take part.

Thanks and good luck!

I'd like to take part, but on the off chance I got the voucher it'd be useless to me, they've shut all our homebases and are making them "bunnings" Sad

This would be perfect timing for me! Have recently had four foot thick leylandii 'hedges' removed from all four sides of my garden and now have a lovely south-facing space that really needs some TLC!

My preferred #GardenGoals would be to transform the paved area in my back garden where my greenhouse used to stand into a colourful, contemporary area that would be a focal point of my garden, as well as a place to sit and relax. I used to love gardening but with increased working hours and other commitments, I have just been maintaining my garden, rather than nurturing it and exploring its full potential. I even got someone else to cut the grass for a while but I really want to go back to saying "I did that!" when someone comments on my garden.

I'd just recently been saying that I would love to get back to my gardening, and focusing on one particular #GardenGoal would be a good way of doing that, rather than aiming too high with a garden-wide revamp. I'm sure that, with the help of the tips and advice from Ann-Marie, in conjunction with Homebase, I can have a realistic chance of really making a difference to my outdoor space over the 8 weeks or so and would love to be able to share my progress on social media platforms in the hope it can inspire others to achieve their #GardenGoals too.

I love a challenge. Crossing my green fingers!

"I want to create a patio garden."

This sounds excellent - DH and I welcomed our DD two weeks ago and are now desperate to get the garden ready (in fact I've posted in the gardening section already this week!)

We bought our house from an elderly man who hadn't touched the garden in years. We have cut lots back but still need a bit of a push to actually get this garden sorted so our DD can enjoy it this summer.

This week i actually dug up a radiator from the bottom of my garden! its after days of digging up old laminate flooring, plastic floor tiles and a decomposing kitchen counter, concrete slabs ect , apparently the old owners/tennants couldnt afford a skip. I now have a 3 x 6 area that i am leveling ready for plants/bushes or anything to make my garden pretty so I really hope to be apart of this campaign.

Oh, is it only open to MNers with children? The survey doesn't give an option to pick no children.

@DraenorQueen this product test is open to all UK Mumsnetters (with or without children). If you don't have children, just leave out questions 5 and 6 in the survey. Thanks and good luck Smile
