INNOVO™ are looking to recruit 10 Mumsnetters who experience stress incontinence to test and keep their new pelvic floor stimulator.

Stress incontinence is the term used when leaks accidently occur from coughing, sneezing, laughing, jumping or doing heavy lifting. These simple movements put pressure on the bladder and, should your pelvic floor muscles be unable to tighten enough, will cause a leak. Stress incontinence can also be called bladder weakness or urinary incontinence. Importantly, we are looking for testers who are suffering from a stress incontinence following pregnancy and child birth.

Here’s what INNOVO™ have to say about their product:

‘Innovotherapy is a non-invasive way to restore your pelvic floor, treating the primary cause of urinary leaks rather than just masking the symptoms. Using a hand held controller that is attached to a two part garment, Innovotherapy sends targeted impulses via conductive pads (attached to your upper thigh and buttocks) to safely and effectively activate the muscles of the pelvic floor. It is a proven technology which has been designed to optimally strengthen your pelvic floor with 180 perfect contractions per session, allowing the device to do your pelvic floor exercises for you.
Results from a research study prove that women who experience stress incontinence will experience significant improvements in as little as four weeks by using INNOVO™ five days a week for 30 minutes. After 12 weeks of treatment the participants were defined as being ‘dry’ or ‘almost dry’.* So it won’t take long to get your confidence back’

You can see more information about the product here:

The product is worth £249 and selected testers will be able to keep the product afterwards.

If selected, you’d need to be able to use the product for 30 minutes per day, 5 days a week, over a 12 week period, and we’d also require you to post feedback on a thread on Mumsnet, so please only apply if you are comfortable with this.

All testers who complete the feedback process will be entered into a prize draw where one tester will win a £300 Love2Shop Voucher.

If you’re interested and would like to take part, please sign up here:

We will be in touch with selected testers soon.

I would be interested in this, I wear tena pads and have done for 6 years, I had a prolapsed womb so had a hysterectomy and had a sling on my bladder TOT tape. I am 35 and have 3 children all big babies 9lb 14ozs, 8lb 10ozs and 8lb
This would be awesome to try.

gunting Tue 08-Mar-16 16:08:47

I didn't even know these were a thing, I'd love to try!

This is first cold I've had since giving birth to my giant 10lb DS.... Sneezing and coughing isn't going well. I'm dreading hay fever season. grin

Sarahb8990 Tue 08-Mar-16 16:57:12

MNHQ! This won't let me complete the form as it asks for a comment on Q.13 when there's no box or reason to add a comment. Also on Q. 8 I'm all 4 of them but it would only let me pick one reason.

MummyBtothree Tue 08-Mar-16 16:57:56

Its only letting me select one answer for question 8 but it affects me with all of those options. Did everyone else just choose one option? Wasn't sure if it was a fault with the form.

DoorbellsSleighbellsSchnitzel Tue 08-Mar-16 16:58:17

Question 8 requires an 'all of the above' option please!

Sarahb8990 Tue 08-Mar-16 17:04:41

It's now allowed me to complete form but still would like to put all down for Q.8

woolypigs Tue 08-Mar-16 17:12:03

I too would have liked all of the above button for Q.8

This is something that is life changing.

InteriorLulu Tue 08-Mar-16 17:12:21

Yes - agreed. Q8 needs an all of the above option!

Fourarmsv2 Tue 08-Mar-16 17:14:25

Same issue as Sarah

MimsyBorogroves Tue 08-Mar-16 17:33:28

Rebecca, I submitted an application but it went back to the survey screen upon submitting rather than a confirmation screen. Please can you let me know if my application is in?

MummyBtothree Tue 08-Mar-16 17:44:57

I sent Rebecca @ MN a pm asking if question 8 could be altered but unfortunately it can't sad

FranksBobot Tue 08-Mar-16 18:29:31

As humiliating as it is I really hope I get chosen for this product test. If it works it really would make a huge difference to my life right now sad

Debsie123 Tue 08-Mar-16 18:37:53

I would love the opportunity to test this product and provide feedback as this problem happens to so many women so it would be good to be able to provide honest feedback on whether this works. I am an older Mum and since having my second child a couple of years ago I do suffer this problem so fingers crossed.

notapizzaeater Tue 08-Mar-16 18:54:37

Mine didn't go to the confirmation screen either.

I need this :-). I'm becoming an old woman before my time

EdYouKateShaun Tue 08-Mar-16 18:59:47

No confirmation screen for me either. I can't say how delighted I'd be to be chosen. This affects my everyday life but I am so embarrassed about it so don't tell anyone. 😢😢

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Tue 08-Mar-16 19:04:13

Have added an all of above at Q8 now

At the end you should be directed to the general insight page

Thanks for the interest! smile

MissRabbitHasTooManyJobs Tue 08-Mar-16 19:26:22

This would Change my life!
My pelvic floor issues have ruined my self esteem and relationship.
About to sign up x

TheSkyesTheLimit Tue 08-Mar-16 19:50:06

Oh my goodness! I would love to try this. After a very traumatic forceps delivery with DD I have struggled to regain any hope of a pelvic floor again. The worst thing was pregnancy-long sickness with DS and I was peeing as I was vomiting. Awful. Fingers crossed! And legs maybe....

Sarahb8990 Tue 08-Mar-16 19:52:38

AnnMumsnet does that mean the ones that have already completed it have been changed to 'all of the above' aswel if they have requested it?

peaz1 Tue 08-Mar-16 19:54:04

I have signed up- I am constantly leaking and its so awful. I have to get up several times at night because I need a wee - I fear that I will have to put up with this forever. It would be incredible if I win... I might just wet myself (and hopefully for the last time ever, too!)

Woodhill Tue 08-Mar-16 20:08:14

Yes please

SweetPeaPods Tue 08-Mar-16 20:43:17

Oh my goodness I never ever thought I'd want to try something like this as much as I do. Please pick me!

PassiveAgressiveQueen Tue 08-Mar-16 22:47:11

I am desperate, i am spending more on tena lady each month than tampax and pads. I can't walk to fast, no way could i take up jogging i would need to return home after 10m to change my pad.
I can't play anything active with either of my kids.

stairway Tue 08-Mar-16 23:50:28

I hope to be picked too. Although I don't have a serious problem at the moment I'm totally pelvic floor obsessed. I use cones but I'm looking for a product with no insertion and less fussing about.

MrFMercury Wed 09-Mar-16 00:26:13

I've hopefully signed up for a chance to try this out. It took me to the mumsnet front page at the end of the questions so fingers crossed it worked!

CharityAmes Wed 09-Mar-16 01:18:41

Really hope to be picked as this could be life changing for me. Fed up of not being able to do stuff with my children and of not being able to get up in the middle of the night in time blush

Junosmum Wed 09-Mar-16 08:00:12

I hope I get picked, this is currently eroding my confidence and I no longer want to go out with my son or husband. I feel dirty all the time and our sec life is non-existent. I just want to feel normal again

BathshebaDarkstone Wed 09-Mar-16 09:39:39

whatdoIget Wed 09-Mar-16 12:51:11

I would love to try this. I really need to get my leaking sorted out blush

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Wed 09-Mar-16 13:57:10

AnnMumsnet does that mean the ones that have already completed it have been changed to 'all of the above' aswel if they have requested it?

yes - we will have a review of the thread and amend some responses.

onelittleclara Wed 09-Mar-16 14:58:17

Completed. I would be so grateful for the chance to try this. Feel very let down by my body confused

Sarahb8990 Wed 09-Mar-16 16:50:25

Thanks for the reply Annmumsnet

NNalreadyinuse Wed 09-Mar-16 16:57:06

Signed up to this.

ThreenageMutantWhingerTurtle Wed 09-Mar-16 19:52:28

Signed up. Fingers (and legs) crossed!

G1raffe Wed 09-Mar-16 20:09:56

I've signed up - this would be lifechanging as every night I worry I whiff of wee sad

I've been to see a hospital consultant who tried to make out it was no big deal as my pelvic floor wasn't completely shot and I didn't have a prolapse. Its a big deal to me. I had a traumatic birth (I ended up in ICU) and the problems started then. Its such an embarrassing problem to have and since the birth I'd been scared of investigations in that area so it took 3 years to get courage to see Dr/Consultant only to be fobbed off!

velocitygir1 Wed 09-Mar-16 21:06:33

I need q8 changed to all of the above as well. I'm continuously leaking

FranksBobot Wed 09-Mar-16 22:25:29

If you could amend my answer for Q8 to all of the above it would be greatly appreciated flowers

Imflabulous Wed 09-Mar-16 22:40:01

Done, fingers ( and legs 😉) crossed I get picked!

OpiesOldLady Wed 09-Mar-16 22:47:51

I'd love to try this!

notapizzaeater Thu 10-Mar-16 00:27:54

I needed to tick all of the above.

PollyPerky Thu 10-Mar-16 07:47:57

Can I just add that 25 years ago I was referred for physio for a prolapse and they used something the same or similar to this. It was electrodes placed externally, on the pubic area and top of thighs. I only had around 6 sessions , one a week. I didn't see any difference but that doesn't mean this product won't work, because it has to be used more often. However, it's worth asking your GP or finding a womens physio to see if they can offer you the same.

pennwood Thu 10-Mar-16 09:05:59

This product sounds as if it would be great for ladies who have had to have a hysterectomy due to a prolapse which affects bladder control & need to do daily pelvic floor exercises.

SpidersFromMars Thu 10-Mar-16 10:21:07

I wish you could choose multiple, but not all, for Q8. I very rarely suffer when heavy lifting (I don't really do heavy lifting, I'm an office bod!) but definitely the other 3.

sjonlegs Thu 10-Mar-16 11:11:43

Oh my goodness YES PLEASE!

My first child was 10lb10 and nearly ripped me in two and my next two weren't much smaller at 9lb something and 8lb something!!

My bladder is a mess - especially after two prolapses and an emergency hysterectomy the day before my 40th! (Happy Birthday to me!)!

If I laugh - I leak
If I cough - I leak
If I sneeze - I leak
If I jump- I leak (I used to LOVE trampolining)
If I run - I leak
If I take the stairs too quickly - I leak

I think what I'm trying to say is - I'll try anything that might aid my weakness in the bladder area and weakness of spirit because of the same - thanks!

Cummiac Thu 10-Mar-16 13:45:41

I have never been pregnant or given birth but I have 3 adopted children as well as stress incontinence. I have put up with this for 5 years. Losing weight and doing pelvis floor exercises (as instructed by the hospital nurse) have not solved the problem. I dread getting a cold and I am paranoid I smell of wee! I would therefore love to trial this product.

girlwithagruffalotattoo Thu 10-Mar-16 16:42:08

Signed up. Another traumatic forceps birth with a 10lb 5oz baby here. Going through that and then finding you're incontinent aged 23 was not a wall in the park. 28 now and facing the probability of surgery in the future which I'm terrified of. If there was a way to fix me which didn't involve a general anaesthetic I'd be very interested!

neddle Thu 10-Mar-16 17:57:29

Could you change my answer for question to all but lifting please?

greathat Thu 10-Mar-16 18:29:09

I'm the same as spidersfrommars

Traceyedd Thu 10-Mar-16 19:46:42

I just want to suggest that any of the ladies on here having this problem should go to their GP and ask for a referral to a womens health physiotherapist. You should not have to put up with any of these type of problems, it is very common issue and often great improvements can be made without anything invasive. I did and whilst it has been a long journey i am seeing improvement.

SmileyShazza Thu 10-Mar-16 20:57:54

Questionnaire filled in.

After having our second child in a super speedy 52 second labour my pelvic floor is absolutely shot to pieces! This sounds like it could be a dream come true and something that might help a very debilitating and embaressing problem.

MacD75 Thu 10-Mar-16 22:45:38

I'm interested. 3 weeks after my second child was born, would love to try something that's hopefully better than kegels this time round so I can get back to running without any accidents!

girlwithagruffalotattoo Fri 11-Mar-16 08:43:05

I've been to the women's physio, Traceyedd, didn't work, unfortunately. I'm glad yours is improving flowers

G1raffe Fri 11-Mar-16 08:56:03

Same here. She said I didn't have a prolapse and it would improve with pelvic floor exercises and it wasn't that bad as pads contain it.... I'm in my30s and don't want to wear pads for the rest of my life.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba Fri 11-Mar-16 09:10:20

7 kids here. Need I say more?
Sneezing, coughing, jumping, laughing, yelling or even lifting something heavy...let's just say I have to carry spare knickers grin

WeeNoMore Sat 12-Mar-16 15:44:29

Signed up under a namechange. I'd like to try this as I feel like my problems aren't too severe but that they are deteriorating rather than improving. I'm a bit hmm about 'selected testers' being allowed to keep the product afterwards. Can MNHQ clarify this? If I participate in a product test and give all the required feedback I expect to be able to keep a useful item.

VeryPoorFloor Sat 12-Mar-16 18:18:44

I used to have this problem and it is so distressing. I felt like a shadow of myself and was constantly in fear of a major accident. Pads were just a fact of life. I saw a urogynaecologist for urodynamics testing and it changed everything. I saw a physio to strengthen all my pelvic muscles and used a kegelmaster plastic exerciser. I also ended up having a Tvt op which has changed my life.

I know surgery isn't right for everyone but everyone on this thread should be seen by a urogynaecologist who specialises in this area. GPs that fob you off and say it's normal are wrong and should be referring people to physios and specialists. It's a horrible condition and it should be spoken about more.

smithsurvey14 Sat 12-Mar-16 22:59:28

I would love to get back to a normal life, fingers crossed.

DarkDarkNight Sun 13-Mar-16 01:34:04

I could only choose one answer on question 8 - not quite true to say all of the above but I definitely needed to tick more.

I had a very long pushing stage during labour and have a prolapse. I am so embarrassed by it, I feel self-conscious and unclean. I not only have leaking but also the constant urge even when I have just been to the toilet.

gingercat02 Sun 13-Mar-16 09:52:07

DS is 7 but I rarely go a day without some minor leakage. Did a fun run yesterday and DH asked about my "sweaty crotch" mortifying blush

lunar1 Sun 13-Mar-16 13:48:18

Keeping my fingers crossed, my children want me to take them trampolining againconfused

TooExtraImmatureCheddar Sun 13-Mar-16 19:01:51

I thought I was OK, but I started a trampolining class today and I leaked. blush Mortified. I had SPD in all 3 pregnancies and I think it's the pelvic instability that makes me wee myself sometimes. It's not all the time but I can feel my pelvis moving and at those times I can't clench my pelvic floor - I can't feel it properly when my hips are misaligned. I'm on the waiting list for a physio appt but I don't know how long the wait is.

Eggsbutnobacon Mon 14-Mar-16 15:21:01

Yes please.

QueenElizardbeth Tue 15-Mar-16 08:08:30

Oh goodness I could really do with one of these.

Stuffofawesome Tue 15-Mar-16 10:05:18

This is in the Times today.
When are they choosing? #pickme

rainbow365 Tue 15-Mar-16 14:09:43

#i would be intrested.
It has become very difficuult for me to cope with this while looking after kids. I get so frustated!badly need a solution.

createbeauty Tue 15-Mar-16 14:48:20

My problem is that my bladder was so stretched and full during labour that I had to wear a catheter for 9 nine days after the birth of my son because I could not push the urine out and my bladder was getting fuller and fuller. It has been nearly 5 years now and I still get sudden urges to use the toilet and sometimes have to urinate every 5 minutes. I only seem to leak when I've been swimming.

321zerobaby Wed 16-Mar-16 23:17:31

Ha, yes trampolining, definitely a thing of the past!

Sarahb8990 Thu 17-Mar-16 10:38:14

I used to do trampolining part professionally but had to give up once I had my son as I just kept leaking. And it's only gotten worse with my second son. I would love to be able to get back to trampolining.

WishToBeWell Thu 17-Mar-16 18:53:43

MNHQ Can see this has disappeared from the general 'Insight' box to right of screen - does that mean is now closed? And that my pelvic floor and I didn't get picked? It's weeping as I type this...

RebeccaEMumsnet (MNHQ) Fri 18-Mar-16 09:03:23

Hi All,

We've had an amazing response to this product test, thank you all for signing up.
The recruitment for this is now closed, we are in the process of selecting the 10 testers, and successful applicants will hear from us within the next week smile.

DoorbellsSleighbellsSchnitzel Fri 18-Mar-16 13:44:41

I had to give up the Harry Potter tickets I won due to reasons beyond my control - perhaps I could be chosen for this and then at least I could start keeping something within my control grinblush

Fingers (and legs!) crossed...

Will try again today!!

Boglin Sat 23-Apr-16 10:46:36

Mine has arrived too but haven't had chance to try it out yet due to the causes of my bladder weakness! Once they're in bed tonight I will get it all set up. Thanks MN and Innovo for choosing me, I'm very, very grateful!

I got to 70 2 days ago (Monday) but couldn't stand it last night and only managed 20minutes. Even turning it down it was just too uncomfortable a almost as if I'd become too sensitive. I am due on though so wonder if that plays a part?

But much quicker setting up and I am certain I can feel a difference already. I alternate between lying down and standing.

Bonkerz Wed 04-May-16 15:43:17

Still a bit of a faff here and not gone over 42 yet. Struggling to do one 30 min so finding 2 15 mins easier
