This is the feedback thread for the three Mumsnetters who are test driving the SEAT Alhambra.

Here's what SEAT say, "SEAT's seven-seat New Alhambra is ready to reaffirm its pre-eminence in the large MPV market with a UK range that majors on more powerful and efficient new engines, a wealth of new equipment features and extra flashes of contemporary styling. The all-round improvements are set to consolidate Alhambra's enduring popularity, reflected in more than a dozen "best MPV" awards since the current generation model entered the market five years ago. Versatility remains a designed-in quality for the New Alhambra; true to the easy-to-live-with character that has made it such an enduringly popular choice."

Non-testers: we'd like you to set the test drivers challenges to put the SEAT Alhambra to the test! Perhaps you'd like to know how many suitcases they're able to fit into the boot? Or how easy the car is to clean after testers have picked up children who have been at a muddy football practice? However you'd like the Mumsnet testers to put the cars to the test, let us know!

We'll choose 3 of the best or most popular challenges and ask the testers to complete them and feedback about them on this thread. Everyone who posts their ideas on this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £200 Love2Shop voucher!

Testers: Please answer the questions below.

Q1. What was your overall impression of the car?
Q2. What did you use the car for? Did you feel like the SEAT Alhambra was up to the task?
Q3. What was your and your DCs favourite aspect of the car?
Q4. How well suited do you think the SEAT Alhambra is to catering for a hectic family lifestyle?
Q5. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend the SEAT Alhambra to friends/family who are in the market for a new family car? Why?

All testers who complete all forms of feedback will be sent a £100 Love2Shop voucher!

id like to know... can you fit 3 booster seats on the back seats easily?

surpriseitsme Mon 14-Sep-15 14:53:20

I would like to know how easy it is to vacuum the interior carpets! My car is a pain in the bum to manoeuvre the handheld in order to pick up discarded smarties and sausage roll crumbs!

StandUnderMyUmbrella Mon 14-Sep-15 16:17:19

Id like to know how easy it is to park in a regular supermarket bay! xxx

asuwere Mon 14-Sep-15 16:25:40

I'd also like to know about 3 car seats in back. Also can you get someone into boot seats while back row is occupied? Also, can you fold boot seats without removing child seats from back row? (Found I can't with my zafira and have had to remove 3 seats several times recently when moving furniture, very annoying)

RedRoseMummy Mon 14-Sep-15 18:15:46

I'd like to know how much luggage space is available when all seats are occupied. Would you get a stroller in? Some shopping?

Maiyakat Mon 14-Sep-15 18:19:49

Non-tester. How easy is it to get children in and out of car seats, especially when they don't want to go in?!

Vajazzler Mon 14-Sep-15 18:23:23

Id like to know how much random ikea shopping you can fit in it.

Theimpossiblegirl Mon 14-Sep-15 18:29:06

Will it take camping gear, 2 adults, 2 kids and a dog?

Ratbagcatbag Mon 14-Sep-15 18:35:29

Can you get two child seats in and have an adult in the middle spot?
Also how's much space is left when all the seats are taken up?

Sarahb8990 Mon 14-Sep-15 19:01:39

Non tester- I'd like too know if there is enough room in the boot for a pram/double pram when the back seats are occupied

Groovee Mon 14-Sep-15 19:29:04

Non-tester here- how easy is it to adjust the seats so little ones don't catch the backs with their muddy shoes after a walk?
See if the radio can be adjusted to work just in the back or just in the front of the car...I am intrigued?

Sariward Mon 14-Sep-15 21:05:19

I'd like to know how comfortable the seats are please. Also, does the front feel spacious? Could I recline the passenger seat and have a nice doze? Thanks

lottietiger Tue 15-Sep-15 10:09:04

Non tester..
I would like to know how large the storage space & boot is please. Sometimes more seats equals less boot space which you need for a larger family

CMOTDibbler Tue 15-Sep-15 10:13:43

Non tester - how easy is it to clean. Is there lots of places for stuff to get stuck under the seats.

And how many bags of shopping can you get in the boot?

InAndOfMyself Tue 15-Sep-15 10:43:14

I would like to know if 3 car seats car fit in the back row and how much leg room there will actually be for the back row passengers. Plus how much boot space is there once the car is fully loaded with passengers, can any luggage actually fit in the boot? Would a fold down pushchair fit?

I find it very difficult to get a full size 7 seater in the UK that allows for the car to be fully loaded with passengers and still have enough boot space for luggage. Let's see what you got Alhambra!

KittyKat88 Tue 15-Sep-15 12:16:01

Non-tester -

Having read the car's full spec, I am especially interested in the technological advances:

Does the Park Assist/Optical Parking System come as standard. If so, does it really work as a hands-free process for the driver whether parallel parking or inching into a tight multi-story car-park space? The massage seat also sounds like a god-send for longer journeys. Again, is this a standard feature and, if so, does it really work to ease back strain for whomever is driving the car?

Mhalt81 Tue 15-Sep-15 13:11:21

NON TESTER - does the boot fit a stroller, baby bag and a reasonable sied suitcase in? (this would be particularly useful when going on holiday with a full car)

Non tester,

how easy is it to load children / dogs / shopping/ pushchair into the car/ boot ( and assist with securing car seats / seatbelt) in a standard parking space?

AGnu Tue 15-Sep-15 15:56:59

My 2 questions have already been asked - 3 car seats across the back & how easy is it to snooze in? Is there Isofix in all the back seats? If so, how easy is it to get a car seat right into the back?

MakeTeaNotWar Tue 15-Sep-15 18:11:51

Non tester: How many suitcases can go in the back with a pushchair?

Can it take bendy rounds smoothly so that kids don't get car sick?

If they do get car sick, it the mess easily cleaned without leaving smells of vom?

AGnu Tue 15-Sep-15 19:27:14

Ooh, I thought of another question... Can it go up steep hills on dirt tracks? We like to camp in places like Snowdonia & have been known to get lost take rather scenic routes so it's important that we have a car that can handle it!
