Microsoft have asked us to find 10 Mumsnetters to test out Nokia Lumia 735, Xbox One Console with Kinect and a Linx tablet (total RRP ~£750).

Here’s what Microsoft’s marketing manager says, “As a marketing manager for Microsoft and mum of 2 boys, I know that things at home and at work can get pretty busy – especially this time of year with present buying, decorating the house, nativity play outfits, pantomimes……you know the rest :-). That is why we wanted to show you the collective power of some of these Microsoft products and how they can be used for the whole family. We would like to find families that can try out a Nokia Lumia phone, XBox One console and one of the new very affordable Linx tablets. All of these work together in a way that your family’s life can be fun and organised, productive and producing lots of laughs.”

This product test is open to UK Mumsnetters who have at least two children age between 5-15.

Testers will need to be available to attend an event in Victoria, London on Tuesday 16th December between 10-12:30 to learn how to get most out of all the products and how to use them together.

Testers will each receive:

  • Nokia Lumia 735
  • Xbox One Console with Kinect + 12 month Xbox Live subscription + Project Spark game
  • Linx tablet (7 will receive the 8" tablet and and 3 testers will receive the 10" tablet)

Testers will be required to add their feedback on the products on three separate feedback threads onsite. So long as you add feedback as required you will be able to keep the products.

Thanks and good luck

This is why I have no time for threads about how people are penalised for living in London. Yet another product test that's out of the question for a lot of the rest of us.

5 and 3 don't add up to 10 (wrt the size of the tablets offered)

They know that there is a marvellously efficient way of transporting items around the country, right?

I agree, it sounds like a great test for introducing my DC to technology a little more but I could't be much further from London. Unimpressed Microsoft.

Yeah cos the odd chance to win a free tablet completely out weighs all the other expenses and issues of living in the South Hmm

I may have maxed out my product testing luck for a while but have entered anyway

Agree with other comments about only beign available for people in London. somewhat unfair. There are other ways to show people how to work things other than seeing them in person.

Signed up for thisGrin, amazing timing, I finally relented and agreed to get the DCs a second hand XBox 360 in the January sales, if I got this instead it would really make the whole family's ChristmasSmile.

haha - not a chance... in the NoLonger household it is the kids that set it all up! and our school hasn't started their holidays then...

You could always get a train to London?

I entered something similar on MN years ago. Me and dd were selected and we got a train to London for the day. Got a free ps3 and did some shopping, nice day out.

This would be fab. All of my dc would be overjoyed at this!

4.5 hours from my door to Victoria, Viva - and probably over £100 for the ticket, at such short notice. I don't think so. Plus the small matter of the kids, school etc.

Unimpressed it's so London centric. (Couldn't test anyway as I don't have kids that age so it's not sour grapes)
