Paddington is looking for 10 Mumsnetters to receive their own Paddington Bear cuddly soft toy and write about their adventures with Paddington on a Mumsnet thread.

Here’s what they say, “One of the most beloved characters of all time comes to the big screen for the first time on November 28, in a magical family film from the producer of the Harry Potter series, featuring an all-star cast that includes Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi, Julie Walters, Nicole Kidman and Ben Whishaw as the voice of Paddington.

“Paddington is a small bear who has grown up deep in the Peruvian jungle with his Aunt Lucy. When an earthquake destroys their home, Aunt Lucy decides to smuggle her young nephew on board a boat bound for England, in search of a better life. Arriving alone at Paddington Station, Paddington soon finds that city life is not all he had imagined – until he meets the kindly Brown family, who find him with a label tied around his neck which reads ‘Please look after this bear. Thank you.’ They offer him a temporary home whilst he searches for the explorer who impressed Aunt Lucy all those years before. But when Paddington catches the eye of a sinister, seductive taxidermist, it isn’t long before his home – and very existence – is under threat...

“Watch the exciting new trailer for Paddington below.”

Selected Mumsnetters will each receive a Paddington Bear cuddly soft toy. We’ll then be asking you to put on your creative writing caps and tell us about the adventures that Paddington has been on, with you, on a thread on Mumsnet. The thread will be live for two weeks and selected Mumsnetters will need to update us on Paddington’s adventures at least three times!

Everyone who takes part and posts on the feedback thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £250 Love2Shop voucher!
This is open to all UK Mumsnetters.

So, if you’re feeling a bit creative and want to take part, then come and join the adventure by clicking here to sign up.

Will the cuddly toy look as weird as the bear in the new film?

popelloucla Fri 14-Nov-14 11:11:46

I've done this, but is it restricted to those with children aged 3-6 or is it for all Mumsnetters?
If it's those with children aged 3-6 I'm not eligible.

Patilla Fri 14-Nov-14 11:48:51

Oh I've entered. DS is Paddington mad and would love taking part.

We're very excited about the film!

MichelleMumsnet (MNHQ) Fri 14-Nov-14 12:15:11

popelloucla, this is open to all UK Mumsnetters.

Fisharefriendsnotfood Fri 14-Nov-14 12:51:55

Done. I can't tell you how much I would love us to be chosen smile

Merrylegs Fri 14-Nov-14 13:23:34

Oh god, this is like class bear angst writ large.

popelloucla Fri 14-Nov-14 14:29:42

Michelle thanks.

halfdrunkcoffee Fri 14-Nov-14 15:56:58

Exactly what I was thinking Merrylegs!

threepiecesuite Fri 14-Nov-14 19:51:35

I've never done the class bear thing so I'm sadly hoping to be picked to indulge myself!

Oakmaiden Fri 14-Nov-14 20:59:57

Oh, my youngest boy is 9, but he would love this. He thinks Paddington is wonderful.

Oakmaiden Fri 14-Nov-14 21:01:29

Oh - the survey says it is only open to those with one child ages 3-6. sad

WannaSplitAPineapple Sat 15-Nov-14 00:50:05

Don't know if my application went through. Fingers crossed that it did, I love Paddington!

God I hate"UK Mumsnetters"

I'm goddamn British and lived in London when I first joined MN a Pom bear lifetime ago, eons before the dawn of beakergate but because I moved abroad I can't write about padding ton - whose stories basically brought me up.

I call bollocks

AmericasTorturedBrow Sat 15-Nov-14 06:57:54

AND I have a 3 AND 6 yr old

InMySpareTime Sat 15-Nov-14 07:58:26

Halfway down the survey it says it's only open to UK MNers with children aged 3-6. I filled it in anyway as I work with children that age, but MNHQ, if it is only parents of DC ages 3-6 you should say in the OP.

New Paddington looks sinister. Very disappointing. Some things should never be updated/redone.

My 40 year old bear still stands in my bedroom!

catsofa Sat 15-Nov-14 20:23:46

Survey clearly says "you must have at least one child and 3-6 to be able to take part". Wish I'd seen that before I filled my details in.

catsofa Sat 15-Nov-14 20:24:52

(I copied and pasted that, I assume it means aged 3 - 6.)

springalong Sat 15-Nov-14 20:39:16

Also confused about the age range as DS age 9 is a massive bear and Paddington fan.

Andcake Sun 16-Nov-14 11:28:12

Ds 2.5 would have loved this hmm but another who is really disappointed at how freaky the new Paddington looks. I think I'm going to dig out a dvd of the original series rather than subject ds or my family to nightmares after seeing the new one.
