Start using Mumsnet PremiumMothercare panel - what's happening?

Because my local store is still s**t! The toilets and baby change have been closed for months (allegedly for refurb but I've not actually witnessed any ), and the last time I was in there there was no one around to actually serve me, I was very close to just walking out without my stuff. On the plus side I did manage to buy a erf seat in there, although the shop assistant hanging around the car seats refused to help us to try it in our car because it was isofix
.
So what's happening please?
Ah yes the MD promised us a panel didn't he? Id like to be on it. Still no ERF in store and staff not helpful. Rammed full of stuff and couldn't get a buggy around!
I was invited to be on the panel, filled in a feedback thread and was never contacted again
Obviously Mothercare aren't actually that interested in our opinions
I think how it works is that we tell them what we'd like to see and they ignore us.
Unless you're lucky enough to live near to their 'flagship' store that is. The rest of us don't actually matter. The last independent nursery store in my town closed last year, we don't have a John Lewis so Mothercare and toys r us are the only places to go and neither are very inspiring!
Hmmm....I've just had an email about the panel and a toy trial? Coincidence?
me too!
Hello - sorry for the delay in coming back to you on this. And apologies for the radio silence on the panel. We have been liaising with Mothercare about this and - as you know - have just done a recruit for their Toybox range (feedback coming soon). Unfortunately there has been some changes at Mothercare HQ and we are looking to do some different activity with the panel in the next couple of months or so. Of course Mothercare welcome your feedback on their stores etc - please do pm me (with your contact details) if you want to get in touch with them directly and I will pass on your comments.
So have the toy testers been picked?
hi - yep emailed them this am. We had a very big response to this
Best Ann
[Off to check email]
I got my email, thanks
I am still very unimpressed with my local store and I'm happy to feed that back higher up, the lack of toilets/baby change/feeding area is a disgrace in my opinion, I thought that facilities to care for babies was one of the company's selling points. The store front is a waste of space - there's a huge window area full of a mess toys that is closed off to the public - they're basically saying 'look at all the lovely toys in our window children, but you can't touch them!'. There are never any staff to hand, or on the tills. The tills went down half way through my transaction once, dd2 was crying, dd1 was bored, I was clearly frazzled, a queue was building and because I'd been paying partly with a gift card the assistant didn't know how much I had left to pay. After 10 minutes of me standing there good customer service would have been to just let me off the £3 or whatever but no, I had to wait whilst the till got fixed. The car seat advice is fairly poor too, when buying a seat I want to actually try it and contrary to what one of the assistants tried to tell me it is completely unsafe to use a non erf combination seat rear facing past 13kg. This was all in the Swansea store.
I signed up for the panel. But they haven't asked me anything. My local store is so badly laid out. I take it that they don't really care.
MNHQ is there any way to find out if ive been emailed- got locked out of my 10yr old email account and cant regain access, have now changed to new email on my mn details but worried I may have missed something?
