To celebrate the launch of Shared 4GEE Plans from EE we're now on the lookout for 10 MNers and their families to try out the new Shared 4GEE Plans and to add feedback on it on MN.

EE say: "We're always working on new ways to give you great technology at great value which is why we've launched a totally new type of plan, Shared 4GEE Plans. You can share a 4GEE plan with up to four friends or family members or even with your own tablet and laptop. Everyone gets unlimited minutes and texts and loads of shareable data on just one simple bill. This makes managing your families devices easy and can save you a packet!"

Specifically, EE are looking for people who:

  • Are over 18
  • Are currently considering changing to the Shared Plan from EE (have looking into it and decided its right for you)
  • Have just finished or are nearing the end of your current pay monthly contract. Please note, providers may charge you for terminating your contract early.
  • Have children whose mobile phone bill is paid for by you. (If your children/ child has a pay monthly phone, they will need to have finished or be near the end of their contract).
  • Are based in the UK and live in a 4GEE area (as the plan includes superfast 4G data) check if you're in a 4GEE area here

    What the project involves

If you're selected to take part you will

  • Need to visit your local EE store with your family members who will be on the Shared 4GEE Plan so everyone can choose the handset of their choice and get personally set up on the Shared 4GEE Plan by an EE expert.
  • You'll then be required to try out the plan for three months and add your feedback to a thread on MN (approximately once a month.)

With regards to paying for the contract participants will:
  • Need to pay the full amount for the first 3 months
  • After the 3 months period testers will continue with the contract with an exclusive discount of 40% for the remaining 21 months.

So, to summarise, each of the 10 selected testers and their families will receive a free handset of their choice (including HTCs smart phones) as well as 40% off their bill for 21 months.

If this sounds right up your street and you meet the criteria above please add your details here and we'll be in touch with those shortlisted in the next couple of weeks.

Please note those shortlisted to take part will need to have a credit check to see if theyre eligible to take part.
Please see here for the full terms and conditions for this promotion. Please only sign up if you're happy and fully understand the T&Cs.

Thanks - please ask any questions below and we'll come back to you soonest.

Oh, no thanks. I switched to EE from O2 earlier this year. They are so awful - poor coverage and the worst customer service I have ever, ever come across, that I am going to swallow the cost of the remaining contract term and go back to O2. I DEFINITELY would not recommend EE.

My friend is an EE customer, she's had no coverage for months, they keep telling her it's her handset, she's had the handset replaced, still no coverage and EE customer service actually said they don't care! To be fair they did give her a £10.00 credit on her account. Altho she's still paying for not bieng able to make any phone calls.

So no I wouldn't recommend them either.

EE have suddenly started charging me for my previously unlimited internet (luckily I am a light user). I can't check out why this is happening because their website tells me that my (non-existant) order is being processed and to check back in a few hours. It then logs me out. Every flipping time. I have THE RAGE.

I would never think of recommending them to anyone.

What are the chances of finding a family who are all nearing the end of their monthly contract ?
I do have Ee and have no complaints about their coverage , as does ds.

Well there's no coverage in my area or my brothers' area )who we would share with) so won't be applying. By the sounds of the above comments we're better of sticking with O2 =/

No thanks. Been with Orange for over 15 years. They changed to EE, disabled a load of transmitters and I have been unable to make a call in my house (lived in for the last 12 years) without the signal dropping for the last year. EE unable to explain it but have given me 10% off my line rental because clearly they know it's shit and not going to change. Am sticking it out til contract expires next summer and then moving on. Also unhelpful that both mine and husband's work phones are with EE too which is all sorts of problematic. Steer clear.

Also no coverage since orange went with EE. Counting the days until the contract ends.

I do hope EE are reading all these responses. Not good is it? Poor customer service, appalling signal, dropped or no calls....have to say I am not tempted.

I'm out of contract, dd1 is ready for a new phone & dd2 would like one. Not in a 3G area never mind 4G.

Plus you lot have just put me off them Wink

Well, the four of us are out of our contracts and would love free new phones! Unfortunately we are not in a 4G area, so can't take part.

Greengagesummer · 01/10/2013 10:36

All 4 of us are out of contract variously from already to 10 Oct & in sw London so I guess in 4g area. Also looking for at least 2 new phones though 4 is even better! Despite what is said above, both my parents are with EE & quite happy locally so hope I could have a good experience. I would like to know more as not entirely clear from reading about the sharing deal how much I would end up paying per month. We have been/are currently with ovivo & virgin.
I would definitely like to know more!

Oh sweet Jesus EE are a shockingly bad mobile provider. The coverage is grim, and even if my phone is showing 3 bars, I spend most of my calls shouting 'Can you hear me? Hello? How about now? HELLO?'.

I've had to change my voicemail message to tell people to text me as I won't pick up voicemails for days, and even on full 3G, I can't send pictures by message or on Twitter.

And for this handsome service, I get to pay £51 per month! Go me!

Honestly, avoid EE unless you are rich and miserably anti-social and never want to spend to or message anyone.

And as for bloody Kevin Bacon telling me how great EE is ........

Oops - never want to speak to or message anyone.

Sorry - my anger is affecting my ability to type......

No thanks, since orange became EE the coverage has been shocking and drops in and out.

Also you'd better hope that none of your family group dies because the fuckers take an internet campaign to get the contract cancelled.

I just terminated my contract with EE, when it started with Orange I was paying £20 a month for a 24 month contract - with price increases it went up to £28 by the last few months! Also shocking service when I had three faulty handsets in a row.

Pay £27.50 for three family members with Tesco for a better service and more benefits thanks to the family bundle.

We are also with EE and have had no coverage in our house or garden for the last few months. None of our guests or neighbours can get EE either. IT is an appalling service.

Report
MrsSchadenfreude · 01/10/2013 17:55

No thanks. I moved to Orange from 3 several years ago because coverage was better. Since it became EE it's so bad that I can rarely get a signal in central London - or it gives me "limited service only", even when it is showing 5 bars! I can't rely on my children being able to get hold of me quickly in an emergency.

I'm off to Giffgaff.

can't wait for our EE contracts to end tbh, ds1's is up in November but unluckily I'm stuck with them for a further 6 months. Wouldn't recommend that anyone gets into a 2 year ball and chain contract with them, well not unless it's free!

Oh yeah and I can't send or receive picture messages with EE either, even though it was no problem with O2. Tbh, you couldn't pay me enough to keep being a customer of EE, they are truly APPALLING

Report
scrappydappydoo · 01/10/2013 21:13

Oh no thank you - I am actually just coming to the end of my contract but will be switching back to O2. Why?? Well my previously MOBILE phone only now works in my house if I stand in a specific corner of an upstairs bedroom and even then the signal drops and I no longer have any coverage at work or in the school playground or in the supermarket or basically anywhere where I might want to actually use my phone. Which is bizarre as when I do have coverage I'm inundated with texts from EE saying how wonderful their new service is Confused

Report
MaxineQuordlepleen · 01/10/2013 21:26

Same here, can never get through to DP now he's on EE and takes several hours to get a text. Sharing plan sounds great in theory...
