Initial thoughts were, how on earth do I get in the box!! Needless to say I have ended up with a torn box as could not get it to open how it should of. I gave used this for over a week now and I fairly impressed. I have used it on a wide range of washes and it has performed well. As of yet i havent had any really tough stains so cant comment on the effectiveness for heavy loads. The price is really attractive and I would probably buy again if I was in Aldi. I usually shop at Sainsburys.

I had the same problem as rm95 with the box! Eventually I got into it, but it wasn't easy. Other than that, the packaging is fine - easy to read etc.

I've found that it is cleaning my clothes well. I wasn't overly impressed by the smell when the washing first comes out (in that I didn't really notice that much of a smell) but I notice there is a delicate fragrance left on the clothing which is pleasant.

I haven't had any tough stains to try it on, so can't comment there.

The prices are very appealing and I would buy it in future.

If it came up in conversation, I would recommend it as it's effective and reasonably priced.

When I'm buying washing powder, I aim for non-bio first then usually whatever is on special offer / is the best value for money at the time.

I usually shop at Asda as it's closest on foot (I don't drive), but occasionally Aldi.

I had no problems with getting into packaging and instructions were clear. My one difficulty was that as I usually use capsules I have no measuring scoop and found it a pita to work out how much to use. Providing a scoop would have enhanced my experience!

I was pleased with the cleaning power and it dealt with most of my 8month old's stains well, probably better than what I usually use. I did find the smell a bit overpowering though I prefer as little smell as possible!

It seems good value for money and I will buy it if I am near an Aldi, I don't think I will drive to one especially though! I would recommend it to a friend -in fact I did yesterday, does that get me extra brownie points?

Price tends to be my main concern when buying washing products so it definitely wins there, I don't have a main supermarket, we live near Sainsbury's and Morrisons and I will use either for a big shop, we also have a local Coop which I use for smaller shops and have a Waitrose in town that I will use if I need to get shopping on the way home.

Just like someone else has said, it is not an easy box to get into, I have flaps sticking out at the top and I did rip it trying to get into it so won't store very well.

I was quite surprised how well it cleaned my clothes even with a big load. It smells ok, but it doesn't produce a massive clean smell on clothes once they are dry.

Again I was surprised at its effectiveness on tough stains. My daughter got some bright red antibiotics on a brand new white cardigan so I thought I would try I first as I was doing this trial. It removed it without a trace on first wash. Very impressed!

I would say they are pretty good value, tho like with all fabric conditions that are concentrated I always use more than the recommended stated dose so I would be more inclined to purchase the powder rather than the fabric conditioner.

I would consider it if I was to go to aldi as the products did perform on my washing, but there is not an aldi near me so I don't tend to shop there.

I would recommend it as I believe it is a good low cost range which does what it says on the tin.

Easy to understand packaging, found the box easy to open. The powder cleaned our clothes well, but would have liked a stronger smell although appreciate that may be difficult as its for sensitive skin.

I found on tougher stains it did work although on some stains caused by my baby I had to add vanish as well.

The products are extremely good value for money and to be honest I would definately consider changing to aldi looking at those prices. I think I am going to change to this product as it has worked and not irritated my sons skin and he has excema and is cheaper and better value than the surcare range I use.

My mum already uses Aldi's products but for other family members I would definately recommend as its good for sensitive skin and great value for money.

I have occasionally shopped at Aldi and hope to go there more frequently now one has opened up locally to me. For me personally when buying washing powder I have to get non bio and senstitive because of my sons excema and of course price has to be considered as well.

It would be great if a scoop or something to get the powder out could be included in the box as its a large box .

Really liked the smell of the fabric conditioner, used slightly more than the dose as seemed fairly thin in consistency compared to usual products. No new reaction in terms of irritating kids sensitive skin

~How does the washing powder perform on tougher stains?- not used on grass or blood-(kids get frequent nose bleeds) but usually use a separate stain remover anyway.

Normally those tear round strips have a loose bit at the end for you to grab onto, but this one doesn't. It was a giant pain in the arse, frankly. I agree, a scoop is needed. ~Lastly, what's the most important thing to you when you're deciding which washing powder you buy? how much it costs, if I'm being honest! I wouldn't get the really cheap ones because they don't do the job, but the least money I can possibly pay for a product that actually cleans my clothes.

And do you usually shop at Aldi or elsewhere? no. I don't normally shop at Aldi, although I do use it from time to time. I HATE being rushed. I loathe feeling like I am being told give us your money and sod off! as my shopping is thrown at me and I frantically try to shove it into my trolley and hurl the money at them before getting the hell out of their way! If you would rethink that, I would certainly make you one of my main supermarkets. Why do you do that to us anyway?

If you don't want to add a scoop to every box, you could either have them on the shelves for people to take if they need one, or have 2 packs - one clearly marked as having the scoop and one marked as not. That way, if people already have the scoop, they won't need to get another one.
although that's probably a lot of faff and potentially more expensive than just giving us a scoop every time!

Just make it a liquid! then you don't have to worry about it. Or about clogging up our machines with that horrible paste that a powder turns into!

Do aldi do a liquid in the range? I normally use liquids too as less mess and easier to measure. Just brought a wash in off the line and impressed with the fragrance

Box not the easiest to get into but I managed it without tearing the box or spilling any of the powder. I was frustrated with the lack of scoop or measure and have had to guess how much powder to use in my washes, using a cup. I have a 6 month old, so lots of challenging marks and stains on clothing! The powder was as good as other brands at removing marks, although i use pre wash stain remover for any particularly nasties. For the price I was pleased with the results, i would buy the product again and recommend it. I didn't notice a distinctive smell, but I personally prefer that than a heavily scented product. I didn't find the fabric softener made any difference to the cleanliness, softness or smell of the wash so I probably wouldn't buy that product, although I appreciate that the price (of both items) is good.

My nearest supermarkets are Asda and Morrisons so frequent those for ease and i usually buy branded washing products on offer. My nearest Aldi is a bit of a trek but other items they sell are good quality/ value so will make the effort to shop there when I need specific items they sell.

My first problem was getting into the box. It ended up really ripped and I would find this very annoying as it would be a problem to store. Also in a kitchen, which can get damp at times, I suspect the powder would clog and be a pain to use. There was then no scoop, so I guessed with a yoghurt pot. I have no idea if I used the right amount. That would also wind me up big time for every wash.

The smell on opening the box was nice, fresh and laundry scented, but very little was left on the washing. I thought it smelled musty but has since dried ok. So if you like unscented products you would probably like this. The fabric softener smelled much like other more expensive brands and the clothes were soft.

I decided to give it a real challenge and wash my preschoolers whites with no stain remover, extra treatment or prolonged cycle. She'd been playing outside in white socks with no shoes, so mud, grass, purple paint and something else that I don't want to know about. It really didn't manage to remove much at all. Now in fairness, I often find that nothing will deal with the preschool mess, which is why we have separate clothes for there. But it was really poor. The socks are going in a vat of bleach now.

The price is good, washing products seem to be getting more and more expensive. I would certainly buy the softener at that price. However I think I would give the powder a miss. Too fiddly, inconvenient and didn't actually work on the stains that for me are an everyday thing. For less messy families it might be great!

*Cleaned clothes well, I definitely prefer liquid mainly due to the lack ofscoop provided. It did say there might be one in there, but why bother saying that just say there is probably no scoop, do you want one?

Worked well on DD's vests that were a bit soiled but did notcompletely remove stain (didn't expect it to though tbh)

Unlike everyone else it seems, I found the packaging OK to open (do I get a special prize for that? ). I would have been annoyed about the fact that there was no measuring scoop if it wasn't for the fact that I generally use powder anyway so happened to have one handy.

Washing powder seemed to perform as well as any other I've used. Day to day grime and dirt washed out fine. The smell seemed quite strong initially but wasn't unpleasant - it just smelled of clean laundry whereas some can smell too artificially perfumed IYSWIM. Seems less noticeable now but I expect I've just got used to it.

It didn't shift grass stains from DDs shorts (but TBH I would've been surprised if anything had without a pre-treatment of stain remover)

If I was in Aldi then yes I would buy the powder but our nearest one is 30mins away so I don't go often. I don't tend to buy fabric softener so probably wouldn't buy that.

Possibly, if it came up in conversation but on the whole I don't tend to recommend products unless they really are mind-blowingly special!

I tend to buy shop-brand ones that I've tried and know that they work well (eg. currently using Lidl one) or buy one of the big brands if on offer.
We usually shop at a variety of places each week - Waitrose, Morrisons and Lidl, and then occasionally we will go to Aldi, Tesco or Sainsburys which are approx. 30 mins away

Packaging good and labelling easy to read. Already had a scoop from ages ago, but to include one would be good, but Aldi not the only brand to not include one as many other washing powder brands don't seem to include a scopp at the moment.

It cleaned all the clothes well. I like the smell of the powder, but didn't find the softner left much smell after tumble drying.

Powder is very good value fo rmoney. Softner quite thin compared to other brands - so I don't think thats quite so good value.

Yes it was fine, found it difficult to start the tear off strip but once I got it there was no problem. Like others have said a scoop would have been very useful as I never know how much I should use and with the ALmat Bio I managed to flood the kitchen by putting too much in!

I have been using Fairy non-bio until now, Almat is at least as good. I haven';t noticed a smell, I wish there was one! One thing I really miss after changing from Bio to non bio is the lack of 'clean washing smell', Fairy is exactly the same. I guess it is because perfume is an irritant but it would be lovely to have that clean smell in a non bio.

I have only had one "poomaggedon" event and I was really impressed that it got the stains out of a white vest without any extra stain remover. This is much better than Fairy.

yes definitely, it works as well as Fairy if not better and is much cheaper. I wish it came in bigger boxes as we don't have an Aldi very close to us.

Yes, I already have recommended it after it cleaned up the pooey vest!

Normally I buy the well known brands such as Persil or Fairy, but I did try the bio powder from Aldi after seeing it performed so well in Which. Normally I buy washing powder which is on special offer but the price of the Almat means that it doesn't need to be on special offer.
I don't usually shop at Aldo but I will make an effort if i am passing now to get washing power.

Packaging is pretty standard. As many others have commented, I struggled to get int box, other than just ripping top off. This means that I had a giant box of powder left more exposed than would like and had to keep it up high so it was not in danger of being toppled by my toddler. It also did not come with a measuring scoop, so I had to guesstimate. Liquid washing powder is far easier. Labelling was easy to read and understand.

Cleaned well and at lower temperature would ordinarily use.

Seemed OK as usually have puree stained bibs and did not notice anything come out still stained.

No, powder form is more tricky to use and no-one I know lives near an Aldi.

Price and effectiveness, liquid firm and nice smell. Usually shop online at Asda for washing liquid.

The packaging was easy to read and eye catching. It did take a couple of minutes to get into the boxn but was a good design.

I have used this washing powder this week and it has washed the clothes well and I do like the smell. The smell wasn't too strong which I like and actually combined with the conditioner the clothes also seemed easier to iron when dry.

I think they are quite good value for money, though for the amount of washes you get from the large bulky box you can also purchase a washing gel from any of the leading supermarkets for the same price and it takes up less space in the cupboard.

I don't think I would go specifically to aldi to buy this powder as I actually prefer a gel liquid, its easier to measure and to store, it also doesn't block up the dispenser in the machine. If aldi bought out a gel version I would absolutely consoder it. The powder was also very difficult to measure without the special measuring cup normally included. I did read on the packaging that you can request one of these but quite frankly you want to use the powder straight away so its a bit of a pain to do this seperately. I would use the conditioner again as loved the results and was easy to use.

I would reccomend this powder/conditioner to friends if I knew they were going to aldi for other shopping howeveri wouldn't say it was outstanding enough for a special trip there. I often reccomend Aldi for their brilliant olive oils/balsamic vinegars/anti-pasti and fruit juices!

~Lastly, what's the most important thing to you when you're deciding which washing powder you buy? And do you usually shop at Aldi or elsewhere? Price and how kind they are to the skin as my husband and son suffer from eczema so I prefer the milder washing detergents. I shop mostly at sainsburys (online) but do shop at Aldi once every couple of months to stock up on my favourite products from there.

Thank you Aldi for sending me this product, I have enjoyed using it and would certainly consider it in the future if I am in the store shopping for other products.

~What do you think of the product packaging? Was the labelling easy to read?

Yes - this was all fine. It would have been handy to have it's own scoop for measuring the right amount as I used a different scoop but then wasn't sure if i was using the right amount as it was shown in grams how much we needed to use.

~How do you find the washing powder in terms of effectiveness? Does it clean your clothes well? Do you like the smell?

This was fine. Just about average like other brands.

~How does the washing powder perform on tougher stains?

I didn't really notice specifically for tough stains - so about average.

~We've included the prices of the products below - do you think they're good value for money?

Yes these are very competitive prices and I would consider buying at this price as it is a lot less than others for a product that is equally as good.

Yes I would. Our closest aldi is a little way away but when we visit I would stock up. I have recently begun to also use a liquid detergent and find this takes less cupboard space to store so that is the only down side to the aldi one.
