We're delighted that Phil 'Mister Maker' Gallagher is joining us at MNHQ on Tuesday at 1pm for a webchat.

Phil has worked in children’s television for the last fifteen years as a production team member, writer, actor and presenter, most famously as Mister Maker in the BBC crafts show. Since its first transmission in 2007, Mister Maker has become a worldwide hit and now plays in over 100 countries around the globe. Phil spent most of last year working on its sixth series, Mister Maker Around The World – where filming took place in the UK, Australia, Hong Kong, South Africa and Brazil.

This Easter Phil will be starring as Mister Maker in CBeebies Live! The Big Band, the new arena show that is touring around the UK. He’ll be appearing alongside Justin Fletcher, Mr Tumble, Mr Bloom and many other CBeebies favourites. Full details can be found at //www.cbeebieslive.com.

Come and chat to Phil on Tuesday 4 March at 1pm or post a question to him in advance here.

Ahead of the webchat we've got three great 'Mister Maker Make Sheets' for you to download and do ahead: Mister Maker's Flying Saucer, pencil case and Splatmonster.

Ooooh. It has to be what has been the biggest craft related disaster on set? I am intrigued. It always looks to organised, not what my house looks like when we do craft!

I'd like to know whether Mr Maker has always been into arts and crafts or was it something he's got into since doing the show?

Ooh you are my nearly-3-year-old son's favourite. Seriously, we have a cupboard we call our Mister Maker cupboard full of boxes, bottles, yoghurt pots and the like, and he pretends to be you, searching through the doodle drawers and naming everything he picks up Grin

My question: have you ever legit failed the minute make? ;)

Hi Mister Maker! Just wondering as an irish gal, is there any irish connection with a surname like Gallagher??? Or any relation to Noel & Liam??!

My DDs ADORE you, whenever they're in a creative pickle it's always 'what would Mister Maker do'!!!!

Thanks

Hi Mister Maker! My two kids both have big smiles on their faces when you appear on the tv. Unfortunately I am a failure when it comes to being a "crafty" mum. Have you any suggestions for idiot proof activities so that even a beginner like me can't mess up?
Thanks!

Hi Mr M! Love the show - can you tell me, do you do everything or do you have a team to help you when you're out and about?

Mr maker, the things you make are great, my daughter loves you, we have many mr maker inspired creations.
However I have one little gripe, Why do you always cut shapes out of the middle of a piece of paper?
It wastes so much paper and is a waste of energy, could you please be more environmentally friendly and tesselate.

Hi Phil,

Why did Mr Maker go round the world? It increased the BBC's carbon footprint a lot without bring anything especially new to the world of art and craft.

Mr Maker is fabulous - he shows my younger son all the things he COULD make if his mother was less crap at craft ;)

Now that Mr Bloom - I'd like to meet him... Wink

We love your shows!

After careful consideration, my 5 year old son asks "please Mister Maker, what is your favourite colour- mine is red. And blue. And green. And have you ever cut yourself with scissors? Because scissors are sharp!"

(sorry that was two questions)

My four year old thought long and hard, said "would ... He ... He ... Um ... When ... He ... " a lot and finally settled on "would you like some popcorn?"

Not really craft related.

Have you ever made one of the crafts and felt instantly sorry for the many parents and carers who are going to be forced to recreate it and then 'proudly' display it? not mentioning any names, glittery racing car badge

How stressful is it doing the minute make, especially the ones where there's an actual audience?

Do you enjoy going into the schools and making the big crafts?

Why do you make Socky live in a drawer? Ds1 and I frequently wonder why you haven't made him a house yet.

I'm sure you have an accent from a particular part of the south east and I'd love to know if I'm right, so I'm going to ask if you ever went to Excalibur's or Subsonics many years ago?
If I've placed your accent correctly you'll possibly know where I mean!

Other than that, my DC love the shapes. Are you planning for them to take on a more central role in the future? Maybe some sort of spin off show?

Hi Mister Maker,
Whatever you do don't do a search on your name on the Mumsnet site it seems some of the ladies may have a little crush on you! Shock

My daughter (4) LOVES you and loves pretenting to be you. She's obsessed with mixing paint, water and glue.

My question - what do you do with all your creations when shooting is over?

You don't seem to have visibly aged in 15 years. What is your secret? Because you could make a fortune from that.
