Stupid Facebook selling.

Real post I've seen this week.

"Got some cheap stuff for sale if you want anything"

Cue 20 posts along the lines of;

"Have you got a patio heater hun?"

"No sorry"

Have you got a wheelbarrow?

No, haven't got a wheelbarrow.

3 days later the thread is still going strong. 20 people have been disappointed that the seller doesn't have what they want and the seller has made no effort to make any suggestion what she does have.

TooManyButtons Wed 29-Oct-14 15:39:31

Has anyone actually asked what she does have? Or is it like a 20 questions sort of challenge? grin

VivaLeBeaver Wed 29-Oct-14 15:44:56

Noones asked apart from asking for specific things which she doesn't have.

I'm keen to see how long it is before someone hits the jackpot and asks for something she does have.

In the meantime I'm tempted to ask her for some really random stuff. Gas masks?

NamesNick Wed 29-Oct-14 15:46:56

yeah ask for gas masks

ask for a beekeepers hut

Facebook selling pages give me the rage, especially things like 'hm an weres pick up?' <teeth itch>
I also see posts like 'having a clear out, will post pics if any interest, need the space so need gone today'.. yeah, good luck with that.

Rollermum Wed 29-Oct-14 15:48:06

I think Facebook selling is ripe for a spoof / tumblr.

You see so many ridiculous things like that.

Most irritating, as I've posted about before, is the unnecessarily mardy and grammatically incorrect 'needs gone today'. Arghhh! Be more organised then and fuck off!

CiderwithBuda Wed 29-Oct-14 15:48:38

This has really made me giggle. grin

Ask for fork handles and four candles.

Rollermum Wed 29-Oct-14 15:49:11

Cross post Three!

CatKisser Wed 29-Oct-14 15:51:33

There's one boiling my pis at the moment on my local one - someone giving away six kittens for free. People keep advising her to do home checks, contact rescue centre etc, but she's just giving them away to every Tom Dick or Harry who responds "me plz" angry

Mrsjayy Wed 29-Oct-14 15:52:57

I think they are hysterical I wonder what she does have ? I have glittery shit and really really bad Frozen gifts sets which are awfulon my newsfeed some sweets wrapped in clingfilm with an Elsa sticker on it hmm

KnackeredMuchly Wed 29-Oct-14 15:54:57

"Anyone got X I can take off ur hands?"

VivaLeBeaver Wed 29-Oct-14 15:56:51

Someone on our site is giving away an American bull terrier for free. Someone's so going to have that for dog fighting. sad

IneedAwittierNickname Wed 29-Oct-14 15:58:49

"Got iPhone 4 wont 100"
Nothing like being polite!

Or my favourite of late
Anyone got baby walker for a gurl?
I've got a chicco one hun. It's green.
Uuuhh. I sed for a gurl? !!!

Choccyhobnob Wed 29-Oct-14 16:00:16

They wind me up so much! Have seen some hysterical random ones like that though where it goes on for ages.

Also people reporting others to the admins because people are being rude to them and when you look on the post (irresistible as it has 50 comments!) you see that they are not being rude but trying to clarify what the hell the donut is trying to sell as their spelling/grammar is so bad it may as well be in another language!

Theresadogonyourballs Wed 29-Oct-14 16:00:24

Worst one I ever saw - "Free, two guinea pigs, hutch and food. Now have puppy so kids aren't interested any more. Want them gone today".
I'm glad to say she got absolutely torn to shreds angryangryangryangry. And a lovely lady, (acquaintance of mine), adopted them, (and gave the woman a piece of her mind once she'd got them safely stashed in the car!)

Expedititition Wed 29-Oct-14 16:08:21

My favourite one was along the lines of '£20 Debenhams voucher.'
Lots of how much do you want for it's.
He came back with '£20'

Haha, yes bad bad Frozen gift boxes in abundance here too. £20 for a bit of pound shop tat.

Tigresswoods Wed 29-Oct-14 16:10:52

The humour value of these sites is great. People are also soooo rude

IShallCallYouSquishy Wed 29-Oct-14 16:11:57

Every time I see a "Buggy/walker/playmat for a girl required" I want to reply with "is that different to one for a boy?"

KimberBentonIsGoingSolo Wed 29-Oct-14 16:15:56

I think they are hysterical I wonder what she does have ? I have glittery shit

How nice for you, but you might want to get a dr to check that out for you wink

Zucker Wed 29-Oct-14 16:19:54

Double bed wonts gone

Hm hun?

To much but thanx anyway hun.

Properly laughing out loud at this. Funny because it's so true grin

On my local selling page there's a running theme of people stating the price and then about 10 people will reply saying "Is the lowest u would go"

I so want a seller to reply with, well I said 200 but I really meant a fiver hun, u interested?

VivaLeBeaver Wed 29-Oct-14 16:21:22

I'm going to be getting another Baby Oleg toy soon and will sell that. Selling them normally causes a virtual punch up as everyone wants to spend £30 on a shit toy.

Mrsjayy Wed 29-Oct-14 16:22:26

Nah I like shitting glitter grin
