got news today that I cant share with anyone - not my husband, not my children, not my staff, not my team mates, not my parents, not my best friends - it will have significant impact stuff - I cant talk about it and its made me fairly miserable - awfully miserable - I am red eyed and in a bad mood

so .... give it to me ... you best Annie impression of the Sun Coming Out Tomorrow, Always Look on the Bright Side of Life, or some quote about there being a silver lining in every cloud

Go on, hit me with it, do you best, because today cant get much worse ... I think

Weeping may endure the night, but joy cometh in the morning?

I'm very sorry to hear you are so troubled. It must wear hard on you not to have anyone to share this with. X

Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.

Sorry, I didn't really articulate as well as Secret

You may need to spill on here OP you won't get any of that crap on here. I was empathising without sympathising.

Anyway, so my best is 'never mind'

but on here people do, so spill it out in whatever way you wish. Flowers

Thanks secret it was quite some time ago. I'm still friends with the person, sort of, we live a distance apart and I have accepted that she just really didn't have a clue how it felt. I don't love her as much as I used to though :)

Lady thank you. I'm not thread hogging.

Why don't you talk on here about it? If you want to that is.

Report
LadyCybilCrawley · 16/05/2014 02:16

I cant talk about it - its complicated - but i'd get in a whole load of legal trouble - i'm not being evasive - I just cant

But I know you lovely cyberfriends can cheer me up with some "it will be alright in the end" type of lines

I know it's a bit cheesy, but I like the Desiderata.

There's a line in it that goes "...whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should".

In fact all of it is quite comforting, if a little spiritual-lite.

I hope you're ok. There must be someone you can talk to in RL?

Ohhhh...wait..how about...smile!even though your heart is breaking or God never gives your more than you can handle...or..in my case I guess you might want to say " Don't let the door hit your arse on the way out"...

My mum always used to say when I was very young and I tears over something.. " Secret, Nobody is going to take your birthday away over this"..

Well, after every MC I had, my Mum came out with the delightful 'it wasn't meant to be'. When DP and I were mad busy with work in the run up to Christmas a few years back, his Mum said 'I don't know what has you so busy, it's not like you have children or anything. This was only a few weeks after the baby I had miscarried would have been due. Lovely.

My wonderful Nan, who at 87 is slowly dying from leukaemia, has the best outlook on life, ever. She always says 'what's for you won't pass you'. She's very wise, accurately predicted DP and I getting back together after an 18 month separation years ago. So she'd tell you that 'it will all be alright in the end'. She's almost always right, too. You must be going through a difficult time. If I could send my Nan off to give you hugs and tell you that it will all be okay I would. A cuddle and some soup from my Nan fixes everything.

My mum still tells me, no matter what happens in your life, no matter what you do, you are loved. I say it to my children now.

Thane, I love Desiderata. 'If' by Rudyard Kipling is great for such times, too. I chant it in my head often, when I'm struggling to manage.
