to think that I might still be able to find a small monkey toy to replace the one my ds lost 3 three years ago?

DS loves monkeys and has collected them since he was tiny. This one was his favourite- it used to be mine, and was over 20 years old so they don’t sell them any more. He somehow took it into town with him and lost it well over three years ago now. He’s now 6. But at regular intervals since then he has cried again about losing it. The latest time was this week. I have scoured the internet, ebay and car boot sales but have never been able to find one. I tried contacting the shop it was bought from but that hit a deadend too. I think it was a ‘russ’ something. The actual monkey was about the size of a toddler’s hand- it was tiny, probably only about 4 inches long and it was filled with tiny beans.

I know I need to let it go, and I know its one of life’s lessons, but I would so love to track one down for him. If anyone has any bright ideas or has one of these monkleys (I would pay obviously!!), please let me know

Have tried attaching picture- you can just about make it out in the post I think?
It needs to be exactly the same one- we have got other small monkeys but its the one he lost that makes him sad. I would just so love to see his face if I managed to find another one

The picture is too small to bring up properly

I think I know the sort, was it almost a kind of towelling material? I think I have the reindeer from the same range, was sold at our local garden centre

It looks like the very smallest of the jellycat monkeys.

It's not the jellycat monkey (I know it looks a bit like it) and its not the one that was given away with Macdonalds happy meals a few years ago - that one has a longer tale and is a bit bigger. I'll try and do something better with the picture (I'm not very good with techie stuff)

its really hard to tell from that photo :(

the closest I can get are www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Baby-Monkey-cute-little-soft-toy-by-Russ-3-10-/221437656868

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Quality-Russ-Soft-Toy-Baby-Monkey-20cm-Excellent-gMM-/251388596004?pt=UK_Soft_Toys_Bears&hash=item3a87ed8f24

But I don't think they look right.

I hope you find one.. it's a nice feeling when you find a replacement for a beloved toy.

Is this picture any better? I don't have much to go on!
Thank you so much for taking the time to look into it and post those websites- its really kind of you. There are some very cute monkeys on there- but none of them are the right ones! The one we are looking for really is very small

yeah it's finding the right search words.. I wonder if sticking the word vintage in there somewhere might help?

I've been trying Russ monkey 1990s.

Was it a beanie baby? They were huge in the early 90s.

Something like this?

1990's in the search is a good idea (I have been typing in all kinds of tiny/small/cute monkey combinations- with no success on and off for several years now.
It wasn't a beanie baby- it was smaller than a beanie baby- it was about the length of my palm

The monkey in the photo has cream 'hands' I think. Really hope you fund one OP. Someone here must have one!

It's not the 1998 Ty McDonald monkey? www.bbtoystore.com/store/Bmc_3b_1998_02.html

I had a teeny tiny beanie baby walrus - it was about 4 inches long. They did come in extra small sizes.

bigfoot- no its slightly smaller than the Ty Mcdonald monkey. (we do have one of those too- it was the nearest we could find to it and he is named after the lost one- but its not the same)
scrambled- I think beanie babies were a different make to the lost one- have done a really thorough search through all the different beanie monkey babies (I think they are slightly larger - even the really tiny ones)

Educated- no, ours didn't sit up- he sort of laid flat (intriguing web site!), but thanks for trying
Bigfoot- really sorry but he's not right- although he is very cute! Ours wasn't sort of sitting- he was kind of lying down. Thank you so much for looking though
