I bet it does to a toddler - some mornings. grin

As long as it's lying flat in the bowl it's the right way up!

(Intrigued to know why you need to know!)

Maat Sun 17-Mar-13 14:45:26

Do you mean the box or the bix?

Once it's out of the box, no.

BanjoPlayingTiger Sun 17-Mar-13 14:47:49

No! Are they not symmetrical? shock

wibbles slightly at the faint possibility all my weetabix ever may have been the wrong way up

NuhichNuhaymuh Sun 17-Mar-13 14:47:59

Not sure, I've only got the Aldi version here, not sure itd be the same. But I can check if you like?

Do they have a smooth side and a rough side? Or something?

Someone with Weetabix in the house please go and look!

Glaikit Sun 17-Mar-13 14:49:47

I have some, I shall go and check if there is any difference. Does it matter what end of the wrapper it comes from?

I'm fairly sure that the actual box has "open other end" writren on it

YellowandGreenandRedandBlue Sun 17-Mar-13 14:51:30

Not that I remember. But if the box were opened wrong way up I would find that quite upsetting.

Trills Sun 17-Mar-13 14:52:45

Isn't that to do with the cardboard of the box though? Not the shape of the cereal inside?

HeadfirstForHalos Sun 17-Mar-13 14:55:46

Perhaps it's when people stand it on the long thin side like my dh so he can fit more in the bowl

Maat Sun 17-Mar-13 14:55:49

I am upset if cereal boxes are opened the wrong end.

It means they have to sit upside down in the cupboard or the contents spill out.

No cereal box should ever have to suffer the indignity of being upside down.

Glaikit Sun 17-Mar-13 14:58:13

For the purposes of this experiment. I removed the weetabix from a brand new sleeve, from the top according to the box.

photo 1 is top side up
photo 2 is the other way

I have also asked dh, who is unaware of this experiment which way is the right way up. He said there is not discernible difference. Then upon inspection of said briquette of weetabix in photos one and two, confirmed his initial stance was correct.

YellowandGreenandRedandBlue Sun 17-Mar-13 14:59:59

Maat - yes, that is it exactly. And poor crisps forced to be held head down if someone carelessly opens the wrong end.

Glaikit Sun 17-Mar-13 15:00:00

Ergo I have come to the conclusion, there is no "right way up" for weetabix.

I am however happy to be proven wrong.

They're the same on both sides.

You can open your boxes however you choose. You can use a spoon or a hacksaw or your mouth. You can stack the boxes on top of other boxes, or lie them down or sling them on your floor. I care not.

But do not, please do not even think about PUTTING A WEETABIX UPSIDE DOWN.

I feel the mocking tone in this thread btw. And I don't care. This is serious stuff.
