Cheap Free Non Painful Newborn SATS testing Could save lives please help

Lots of you will see in the news today about the Newborn SATS test to detect Heart Defects - its the most common birth defect and kills more babies children and adults when it goes undetect than any other.

We NOW NEED to put pressure on to make sure that every hospital does this - its simple pain free takes all of 2 seconds and costs nothing but a little time!!! it saves lives!! 1 in 133 babies are born with a congenital heart defect - please make them take notice!!!

Ive been talking to the chief researcher Andy Ewer about this since 2009?. He told me it was coming out today but I didn?t expect I to make national news!... He is happy to help and back any campagin and has backed some news articles done in my area.

I actually wrote to all the regional hospitals and asked them to bring it in our hospital - UHND do it as standard which is why they found Ethans at 72% - believe it or not they never 'noticed' any problem with him and we were all ready to go as they nearly forgot to do it! - :( if he had gone home with oxygen levels this low he would have died overnight!:(

Unfortunately, the regional hosptials - including the Newcastle Trusts -which I find appauling as they are attached to Freeman Childrens Heart Unit are more interested in False Positives and worrying other parents than in finding a genuine case.

The HTA report comes out in December and hopefully with the re-org in S&S they will make this mandatory.

Lets face it they test for 1 in 40,000 with the gutherie heal prick and everything that entails - why not do his for 1in133 babies born with a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD)!
