Nestle Boycott

I am delighted to see that Mumsnet is supporting Baby Milk Action and it's Nestle boycott. Just wanted to bring to everyone's attention the latest misleading claims that this company is making about it's products. Have a look at this info.babymilkaction.org/cem/cemfeb11
and send your support or better still contact your MEP. If we choose to bottle feed our children surely the decision as to what products we buy should be made on scientifically accurate information and not on the questionable claims made by many companies producing formula milk. This type of claim/advertising just takes advantage of our vulnerability as parents and our desire to do as well by our children as possible. It is something, I feel,we should be protected from.

I do not believe how stupid people can be. I can not believe what i just read about formula. What i hated the most during my pregnancy it was all this person trying to force me to breastfeed. I know it is the best for babies but if you cant what do you do? You should be ashame of this discussion.

Mums who bottle feed are as good mum as others and theirs babies as healthy as others. So stop talking bullshit. Breastfeeding is better but it is not the only option.

gimadh-WTF??

I too was a formula feeder but to outright state that formula improves baby's eyesight is just plain wrong.
All those insecure and unsupported woman can be misled by claims like these.

Breastfeeding is best. There is no doubt about it. But women should be supported in their choice of feeding, not lied to just to get their money.

You know very little if you think that thats all that Nestle does - lie in adverts!
For long time I know that they are also trying very hard to incorporate MSG into baby food without labeling it. They are top on the list of bad companies.
Since I can't post link here is part of article:

Unfortunately, certain food companies are experimenting on how to put more MSG in your MSG-free foods. We recommend you avoid ANY and all products from the following food companies - since they will NOT have a label that will alert you to the presence of free glutamic acid. They are trying to keep a clean label while increasing the amount of free glutamic acid in your food.

Nestle'
Campbells
Frito-Lay
Unilever
Dairy Management Inc.
The Mushroom Council
Ajinomoto Food Ingredients
Senomyx

if you want to know more search for msgtruth website for more info on MSG and baby food companies.
