Flying with twins

I have twin 17 month old boys and we are flying to Spain next week with Ryannair. The last time we flew with the boys when they were 6 months (with another airline), we were split up because of the availability of extra oxygen masks which were only on certain rows on the plane. Has anyone flown with Ryannair or have any info about this? They are very difficult to pin down on the phone and are not contactable by email. Also, does a travel cot go 'free' like a pushchair?

dody, Ryanair are EXTREMELY child unfriendly. I wouldn't fly them if you paid me. I had a terrible experience on Ryanair, culminating with the flight attendant making rude comments about my breastfeeding and breasts and when I wrote to complain, I got a response saying that I made the whole thing up. I don't think they let you have anything, not even a pushchair, "free" for baggage allowance. Please make sure you get them on the telephone before you go and make sure you speak to a supervisor and get that person's name. When I called before I went I was given incorrect information about taking a car seat on board by the person I spoke with and was then told that no one could have possibly given me wrong information as all their staff know what they are talking about. Sorry to put you off, but I think you should be prepared.

My experience with Ryanair was also appalling - fortunately it was for a fairly short flight. I don't know if you can 'speak' to anyone on the phone, their customer services department is non-existant. I think it is highly unlikely that a tavel cot would go free in fact my DH who flies a lot on business was recently told that his suitcase (a very modest one) was too large and he had to pay excess for it!! As a seasoned traveller he always travels light so it seems a ridiculous rule.

Sorry not to be more helpful and good luck!

Thanks guys. Managed to get Ryanair on the phone eventually and they assured us travel cots don't count towards luggage allowance. We shall see.

Just to let you know we had a really good experience with Ryanair. There was no problem with the pushchairs or travel cots. The flights both ways were not full so we had enough seats for the boys even though they were meant to be on laps. The oxygen mask situation was better than the other airline we flew with as they had two extra masks on every row so you can sit across the aisle with twins on laps. The flight attendant also helped my three year old down the steps as we got off. Well done Ryanair!
