Has anyone found out they're having TWINS late in their pregnancy??

That's it really!

I have had a niggling thought since my 20 week scan.

Leading up to the scan all my movements had been on the left. And then the sonographer squirted the gel on the right side of my bump and starts scanning..and there was the baby. I told her that I thought the baby was on the other side and she said, 'well here's baby'...!
She briefly scanned the LHS and there was a black blob, no baby, but ever since I have wondered.

I have also been bombarded with 'huge/are you sure it's not twins/triplets, are you sure you have the correct due date' comments the whole pregnancy.

I have mentioned this to my midwife and she said 'you have had a scan haven't you?' and that was that..!

Anyway I am measuring a bit big for dates and am seeing the consultant on the 10th to see if I need a growth scan.

Anybody found out late that there is 2 and not 1???

Before it was usual to have scans a family friend was pregnant and gave birth to the baby she was expecting, then a few minutes later another was born which completely shocked all in attendance.

I was 15 weeks and found a triplet hiding behind a twin. Had had 3 scans already that missed it.

It happened to an older friend of mine, but that was in the 1950s before scans. It was only a week or two before her twins were born and she had to rush out to buy another cot and so on!
