I have just found this forum - I need some support! I have a 13 month old son and have just found out I'm expecting again. Was getting v big v fast so had scan today to show Quintuplets due end of December. What the hell am I going to do?? How can I cope with this many children (I'm 21 and we have no family around). How will we afford it (DH is a self employed gardener and I'm a SAHM). Am scared DS is going to be overshadowed too. And how am I going to carry 5 babies for long enough for them to be healthy? Dr thinks bedrest from 24 weeks - but what about ds? This is madness it can't be real. DH is overjoyed but i don't think reality is sinking in yet. Please help me stay sane and think straight....

Hello. I am afraid I have no experience of multiple births but wanted to welcome you here.

What have the doctors said about it all?

Just that everything looks good at the moment (9weeks). All the babies are ok. They just said its very rare and they'll get me referred to specialist too. No-one has said anything about how I'm supposed to cope with 5 babies and a toddler though.

Hi honey, you are a HORMONE QUEEN!!!!! I have 10 month old twins (boy/girl) and a dd of 4. I just want to say hi and that hopefully we can help in SOME way. I've found MN to be a fabby support - you can be totally honest and not worry a jot. A friend of a friend is due triplets and has a child already, she is being offered state help with childcare, cleaning etc so hopefully there is something there..... This must be a massive shock for you. Don't know if men always see it the same no matter how supportive they are. Have to run for now. Take care honey.

Hoho Quinty, this is going to be great fun to follow. You will make all of us who "only" have twins look like amateurs

Good luck to you.

Just a thought, you will have 6 children under 3! I am totally not helping am I. Sorry but I and mine send you all our wishes for a happy if somewhat uncomfortable pregnancy.

About finances etc. These things have a habit of working themselves out.

good luck!

Quinty! congratulations! i can imagine this is very scary and not common, but i think everyone finds a way to cope, i tink as long as you love you ds as much as possible and elt him joinin with the care of the babies he will be fine but a little jelously is normal. maybe he will enjoy playing drs and 'looking after' mummy whilst yur resting?

hmmm just read the other thread - strikingly similar to two stories that appeard on Babyworld - one was 'carried through' in one of the Antenatal clubs, the other was a pregnancy diary which went a very similar way to the story on the other thread...

Lets just say that the author of both stories was found to be lying.
