My sis is PG on her 4th.

Well. She was. Discovered this morning it will be her 4th and 5th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She is in shock. But happy.

This is the first pregnancy I have seen her really happy about - first was a 'mistake' and then she had bad PND after him, had 2 more 'mistakes' (hate that phrase really!) and bad PND, then diagnosed with bi-polar. Is doing really well at controlling that herself and is not on any medication.

She has been given a due date of 12 January but presumably she will go earlier.

Am grinning away here! SO exciting!

one consolation - it is much easier being pregnant in the winter - imagine having twins in August !(Mine were born in Jan) - you do have to deal with the dark nights though.

Does she know if they are id or fraternal ?

Hi Throckenholt. They are fraternal. We are all still in shock. My dad wondered if it was a credit crunch thing - 2 for the price of 1!

Christmas will be interesting. She is due on Jan 12 so could potentially deliver on Xmas Day. That would be just her luck!

Her youngest DS is almost 6 but he was a month early. Her other two are almost 11 and 10 so are old enough to be of help.

fraternal means a less risky pregnancy generally compared to ids (no complicated shared blood supply issues) - so that is a good thing.

Sounds like the older ones are old enough to help with cuddles etc - which will help.

What a great Christmas present for them all

I spoke to her again today. She is still in shock and wondering how she will cope but all her friends have promised they will help out. And as you say the older ones are old enough to help.

She is hoping to make it through Xmas and have them after but that one is in the lap of the Gods.

It's very exciting!

by the way - lots of twins get to nearly full term - 38 weeks isn't uncommon - and some make it to 40 or 41 (poor mother !). There are other twin parents round here - hopefully someone else will pop along and say hi soon

God throckenholt I don't think she has thought about getting to 40 or 41 weeks! Best not tell her that - it might worry her!

Thanks duckyfuzz! If hers do arrive in a similar fashion to yours I will treat her to Christmas courtesy of M&S!!!!!

Hiya. Congrats to your sis. I was booked for a section on the 7th Jan (4 weeks before my due date as mine are identical) but they actually came on the 23rd December. I spent Christmas and New Year in hospital but it wasn't all bad. Dinner was cooked for me etc. The only bad thing was that I missed my daughter like crazy.

Thanks all. We are all still alternating between big silly grins when we think of it and "Oh My God!". Sis is just panicking about all the logistics. She is off on holiday on Sunday for 3 weeks - commented that it will be their last one as they won't be able to afford flights for 7 in the future!

Hi sal! That is good to know! In fact it will be an improvement with my sis !
