ROFL Mars - Frumpster seems to have been away for about 300 years

1003 goes to me!

Thanks dear Shabby, I'm fine. And I'd worked out now what AD meant, apart from being after Jesus was born.

MOVING DAY! Makes me think of a story we had when we were little - my naughtly littel sister I think. On moving day they had banana sandwiches for breakfast because they'd packed the toaster. Just one of those funny things that sticks in your mind.

Fine that is, apart from a marital ruckus about upcoming holiday and DP not going to come on it much becuase of work but at least I'm getting those babies out of the big smoke to East Anglia for three weeks (week 1: staying with friends in Suffolk, week 2: swapping our house with another family who live in Norfolk, week 3: proper holiday, renting house by seaside in Suffolk). Sounds a bit complicated? That's because it is. Oh and can't seem to get dinner time right in our house at the moment either which is causing some stresses. Stupid how these little things can grow horns and go on the rampage through your marital harmony.

Speaking of which, any of you Multi-mums live out that way?

Woops, wrote more than I'd planned to - probablly more like a thousand and ten now...

What are you reading Trips?

Speaking of which, meaning East Anglia not marital harmony...

AG I love Norfolk. It seems like a place full of stories and unexpectedness. Kazuo Ishiguro wrote it's the place where lost things end up

... I don't think it was a compliment, on reflection!

Welcome home Pazza et al.

I live near Rubester in a quaint fishing village with a lovely little harbour - you must come and stay

I also have a beautiful villa in Rhodes, Greece - whitewashed walls, the sound of the sea just within earshot, cloudless skies...it is idyllic.

Shabs how was Faliraki??

the closest I got to idyllic summer hol was watching Mamma Mia at Dalston Rio parent and baby screening yesterday - which was shot in Shabs' villa by the sound of it. Oh what went wrong?? We spent a week right by a gorgeous lake and a week at PILs with swimming pool and I didn't even get my new swimsuit on once (£4 from Primark - definitely NOT a bikini year for me!!! my stretchmarks have strecthmarks, even my BOBOS have stretchmarks now!!!) ... DTs bawled at first toe in water so that was the end of that - such a shame, they have the dinkyest swimsuits, which are now too small!

Also somehow managed to spend two whole nights on the road thanks to hotels being full/shut, BF-ing at dodgy Belgian laybys where there were DEFINITELY shady things going on!!! And spent the second week saving DTs tiny dangling feet from the snapping jaws of Cerberus (FIL's massive dog) while biting own tongue. Darling doggy has, according to FIL, 'great mothering instincts' and 'has been told since May she has to take care of the babies' - which passes for logic apparently!?

God look at me I'm complaining about a holiday!! There were some good bits of course, (like ogling Rafael Nadal's muscles with 92-year old gran) but they're less amusing to relate!

Mars:

  1. Harrogate is "a little bit of the south in the north" so you will feel right at home!

  1. Bettys Cafe Tea Rooms - where else can you get a cup of tea for a fiver!! And a plate of cakes for £30!!

  1. Some rather nice shops and a compact easy to get around town centre.

  1. The Stray - 200 acres of grassland that surrounds the town centre - home to picnics, lounging around, games of football, frisbee, walks etc etc.

  1. The Turkish Baths - Victorian stylee - hot/cold/massage, whatever you fancy. It was good enough for Agatha Christie!

  1. The Valley Gardens - its Alan Titchmarsh's favourite public garden dont you know! And its got crazy golf, tennis, putting, a playground, a cafe, and loads of lovely flowers. Plus brass bands play in the summer.

  1. The Royal Pump Rooms - Harrogate is a spa town so you can "take the waters". It smells and tastes like rotten eggs.

  1. Great pubs - the Coach and Horses, the old Bell, good old fashioned pubs with good ale.

  1. Great restaurants - the Drum and Monkey world renowned for seafood. Sasso - fabulous Italian.

10. On the doorstep of the Dales - great countryside all around.

11.HM and her family live there.Oops thats 11, not 10!!

Say no more!!
