First pregnancy and have discovered its quads really just want to hear from others am only 8 weeks and can't find any information on the chances of the 4 making it to at least 32 weeks and if they don't all make it is there a chance that some will?

Congratulations! thats amazing.

Im afraid I can't really offer advice as Im not clued up on quads but I have heard / read on other threads that doctors can offer a reduction in order to increase the chances of 2 or 3 making it to full term. I just thought Id pass that on as something to potentially prepare yourself for conversation wise.

Yes look at the multiples section of mumsnet and check out Tamba which has lots of advice / factsheets about multiples.

Quads - wow!!!! Shock I am pregnant with unexpected twins and that threw me enough. Wishing you a very happy and healthy pregnancy.

Wow!
4 babies! huge congratulations 🎉

A lady who lives near me has triplets and she belongs to Tamba too; she gets discounts at various places but also they have tonnes of advice and did a multiple birth ante natal course too which she said was good.

I'm sure you'll be under consultant lead care and get lots of extra scans etc.... wishing you all the best x

Hi there, didn't want to read and run as I have a friend with quads. She carried all 4 to 30 weeks and they're happy and healthy. Just to give you an idea that it is possible! She attends a local multiples group and finds TAMBA helpful I think. She says in some ways it's easier when they're little as they all entertain each other! They all have their own little personalities. I know she spent a chunk of her pregnancy in hospital with hyperemesis so hopefully that doesn't happen to you. Best of luck.

wow im kind of jealous, that would be so exciting! they would all grow up the bestest of friends and be able to play at the same level (instead of when you have age gaps between normal siblings)

congrats! i dont have any advice but hope all goes well

Congratulations!

I know we have a couple of sets of quads on Parents of Preemie Support Uk so might bebe worth joining? You can join pregnant if you're reasonably expecting a prem sp anything before 37 weeks

I have twins and can definitely recommend joining TAMBA and your local TAMBA group.

A friend has quads. She'd hoped to go to 32 weeks, but went into labour at 27/28. All four made it; they're about a year old now, and I don't know of any disabilities/special needs, though they're still pretty young. We're not in close contact - she gave birth in the US, so I can't tell you everything, but I hope that's an encouragement.

Oh wow, congrtualations. I've 'only' got twins. A lady I know who had triplets, spent quite a long time on bed rest in hospital. All delivered safe and well.

Definitely join TAMBA.

Good luck.

I've not had quads myself (twins twice here), but my grandma is a quad born at home in rural France in 1945. They were born at approximately only 5 weeks early and were all small but relatively healthy weights. No idea until they were born (obviously, otherwise a trip to the hospital would've been more sensible!), but great grandmother was a twin so was kind of expecting the same.

Wow congratulations- it must be very daunting but there is help out there.

Request to join Facebook group "UK Triplet and Quad Mummies" and they can point you in the direction of other groups.

Join TAMBA too and they offer all sorts of support.

I'm due to have triplets this week (34 weeks) and the info on triplets can be difficult to dig out so make as many real life (social media) connections that you can. The sharing experiences and asking questions is really good.

You will be under consultant care which is very reassuring (scans every two weeks for triplets so maybe more for quads).

It's a rollercoaster that's for sure.

Please feel free to PM me although these next few weeks might be s bit busy for me!!

Hey @lj46 how're you doing?

Report
Lj46 · 25/09/2018 06:49

Not sure really 22+6 today and back for another scan, on weekly scans now. One of the babies has selective fetal growth so worried about it and the impact on its twin if it stops growing. Still at home and mobile but starting to struggle to stay comfortable they are talking about taking me in soon and early delivery. Just praying that I can get to 28 weeks 30+ would be amazing just want 4 babies home so longer they are in here the better.

I have adult triplets born at 33wks. All healthy with no issues. Listen to your body carefully and don't overdo it. Best of luck.
