Phill and Teds double

Hi ladies...I've got a 4 year old, 16month old and I am currently 20W pregnant.
I've started to look into double buggies and fancy the phill and teds dot (mostly coz it's reasonably priced!), but also it's quite compact and light to lift/push.
My only concern is the second seat doesn't recline completely flat...has anybody used it for a newborn? I want to put my toddler in front seat as he's quite a big boy for 1 thing, and also there's no way he would sit in the back and not be able to see out very well, for any length of time!
Thoughts appreciated x

I had one years ago (my two were 18 months apart), there’s a lie flat bit to start off without the seat. It’s a bit like a shelf and I had a kind of sports bag/carry cot thing which you put in there. Thinking about it, I think it’s configured so that you’ve put the “second seat” in front and then dropped the main bit back to get the shelf, if that makes any sense at all.

To be honest once baby was able to sit in a seat, I tended to put them in the front. I know you’re supposed to do it the other way round but I found that by the time you’ve got a two year old they want to start getting out and walking every five minutes and getting back in again. If you’ve just got the second seat occupied and the front seat empty, it’s really unstable.

I bought one when mine were a newborn and a very small toddler respectively. Best thing I ever bought. It did have a 'lie flat' bit for the baby at the back and, obviously, I then used two seats in due course. That said, DS was always keener to walk, so DD ended up mostly in the main seat, and the second seat became a shopping trolley. But it was absolutely brilliant. I walked endlessly with them over all kinds of terrain (farm land, beach etc, etc). It had to have a new wheel bearing in the end, but was then fine again. What's more, I sold it on eBay for well over £100 (despite describing it as "very old and battered, with replacement wheel bearing"). Grin

Kind of like in this picture. Having just looked at their website though I can see there are all sorts of different Phil and Teds buggies these days - mine was probably bought new 12 years ago.

^Thundercracker's description of the 'lie flat' seating arrangement makes perfect sense to me!

I have the dot for my.2 year old and baby... I love It although there's a new one out with a proper carrycot that can be used in.double mode.
