TAMBA - is it any use?

I am 22w pg with twins and have started looking on the TAMBA site as recommended by my MW. I have to say so far I am a bit underwhelmed by the bits I can access without joining - it is pretty basic info and not as helpful as MN.

Did you find it useful? Shall I join?

I’m also 22weeks with twins and have joined. I can’t say I’ve looked too much at the info yet, I joined for the discounts Blush

Their website is difficult to navigate.

I have been a Tamba member for 6 years. I chose to become a member because of the work and research they do for multiples and families of multiples more than the discounts themselves.

Tamba have recently successfully implemented twins specific growth charts in hospitals so twins can be measured against these rather than charts developed for singletons. They do a lot of research on TTTS too, to name a few things.

The discounts are helpful. 20% off Frugi and JoJo Maman Bebe, 15% off Startrite and 10% off Clarks and Mothercare (which helps when buying two cots, two carseats and a double buggy).

Hmm thanks! Yes I support the idea of their research but tbh we already contribute to several charities monthly and we are watching the pennies as we already have a toddler and no idea how we are going to afford 3 sets of nursery fees! I will have to see how much it is to join properly....

£2.25 a month. Nothing really.

I cancelled my NCT membership to join TAMBA... Again mainly for the discounts (there's a 20% off clarks weekend a few times a year too) but the research too. I've no idea what the members only section on the website is, haven't looked much.
we're also facing the expense of 3 kids and are having to cut our outgoings significantly which unfortunately means cutting down our monthly DDs for the various charities we give to :-(

I liked the book they sent when we joined up. It was so interesting and useful. That’s been the most use so far. They are also good a helping during a crisis, I believe although luckily I didn’t need to use that.

TAMBA have been really helpful to me with their phone support - not sure if you have to be a member to access it (I am), but I would say the membership fee is worth it just for the discounts - we've booked a caravan holiday for next year and saved over £50 just on that, which has paid for my membership 😊

I would agree with a PP though that their website isn't the greatest to find your way around, that could be improved a lot.

I cancelled mine as I found the emails they sent all the time had really upsetting subject titles about prem survival rates, used to dread getting emails!

Thanks all. I have registered and will go on an antenatal course they are running locally. I'll see how that goes. Yeah, they keep pushing the pregnancy tracker emails and I don't want those. Imagine if something awful happened and you had to remember to unsubscribe from a mailing list..... urgh.
