OMG - Triplets

I posted this on the pregnancy board as I hadn't realised this board existed until someone mentioned it on that thread - so sorry if you've read this twice!

I'm still in shock. I've had 3 miscarriages and 3 ectopics and during November completed my first ivf cycle. I had a 3 day transfer of 2 eggs and got a faint bfp 9 days later. I then had a blood test at 13 days which was 348 and at 15 days which was 767.

On Friday I went for my first scan at 6+5 and was told I'm carrying 3. Two are identical and measured 6+3 and 6+4 and the single one measured 6+1. All had heartbeats but they couldn't tell me the heart rates.

Has anyone got any advice or experience of carrying 3?

Wow, congratulations! I have twins, so no idea about three, but yes definitely contact TAMBA. They have an advice line and all sorts of resources including online forums; I'm sure there will be lots of people on there with triplets.

Good luck with your pregnancy.

Congratulations!

It's intense in all senses. Organise support and enjoy.

Tamba or tripletconnection.org are good sources of information.

I have triplets :D Mine are nearly 15 now. I won't lie and say it was an easy pregnancy, but it was a good pregnancy for carrying 3. I got to 33wks2days with mine, two boys and a girl. The most important pieces of advice I will give you about the pregnancy is 1. Stay positive and 2. Listen carefully to your body and do what it's asking you do to.

Overall though, whilst it's been hard work, it's been bloody marvellous. Grin As Kentdee said, just shout if you have any questions. I agree about using thetripletconnection.org. I first used the site when I was pregnant with my lot and am still in touch with some of the mums I met on there, including one UK mum. It is an american site, but you'll be very welcome and looked after.

Best of luck!

Twins here...echo checking in with TAMBA pdq. Really good for advice, they run workshops plus they have a range of discounts with their membership card (which makes a huge difference when you're buying for 3). Also, depending where you are, search for twins and triplets clubs in your area. There's a very good one in Sarf London. You don't have to wait till they're born to attend (they're basically just glorified cafe meet ups with even bigger buggies...) as you'll meet other triplet Mums and be able to get a whole host of tips/hand me downs etc.

Good luck!!!

Thanks for all your congratulations. I'm now 11 weeks and still have a week to wait for my official NHS scan and 2 weeks for my first consultant appointment.

Once I've got through those and the news has finished sinking in I'll probably be back with 20 million questions - so thank you all in advance!
