I'm a mix of emotions, not sure if it's horomones or the stress.

I have 6 month old identical twin boys, who were a shock at my 12 week scan as my HCG levels looked normal but scan showed 2, and 2 heartbeats.

Now, I received a call from my Doctor yesterday saying my HCG were very high, and to come back for a retest to be sure. He think's it's more likely twins due to twins in family and my previous PG.

Yesterday, I was freaking out thinking it was something worse. This morning I was calmer but readying myself for bad news. Now, DH has me a little excited about it being twins. I've cried so many times because I can not stop the What If's running through my head. I'm booked in tomorrow morning, so he can fast track my results by tomorrow evening. The waiting is killing me.

I just needed to vent a little because I'm going out of my mind with all these conflicting emotions and DH has to work tomorrow, so I have to go on my own because nobody knows about the pregnancy. Have I forgot to mention I'm only 4+5?? And now the hysteria is setting in.

My twin girls are 6 months old and while I would love more children, I would die of shock if I was pregnant with twins again now!

Home from the Doctors. Had more tests done and opted for the HIV test while I was there. I will receive my results around 4pm and from there on my care will be transferred to my MW and the antenatal team.

Any news? I also had a worry waiting for scan with 2nd pregnancy (after having had twins) but my 2nd pregnancy was just a single. Mixture of relief and disappointment. Hope all is well

I have my results, they're high, so I'm booked in for a 7+2 scan to check, and then back in at 11+5 for a dating scan plus combined testing. Eek.

Are your other twins definitely identical? (I know that sounds like a daft questions but did they test them?)
because if they are then the fact that you already have twins is not that relevant to the likliehood of it happening again, as your doctor should know it's twins 101. identical= non heriditary (although it is more common in some familes for unknown reason)
I have fraternal twins and would be too scared to get pg again as I dread having triplets! but in current situation, short of a miracle, it is not going to happen

that said if it is twins again you are already an experienced mum of multiples and two sets of twins would be totally lovely. and a singleton (I always assumed if I ever had one) would be a breeze after twins.

My twins were ID (same sac) but fraternal twins are in the family Grandmother on my mother's side had a twin brother. I know it doesn't have be twins, as during my twin preg, my HCG looked normal until my dating scan.
