I am pregnant with twins confirmed as ID Twins. Currently the gestation period is 22 W + 3 days.
My ultrasound scan taken 2 days before has given a report as below.

Polyhydramnios in 1st fetus
Severe Oligohydramnios 2nd fetus

On the next day, I have got my ultrasound taken at another diagnostic centre and they have reported only Mild Polyhydramios in both fetus.

In both reports, baby growth is normal for both twins. But there is 35% growth discordance.
I am confused as to whether I have TTTS or not .

Request your kind advice on what I need to do.

I don't know much about TTTS, but there was a group of ladies who went through it together. It was a while ago now but their thread is here

You might find some information there, but I would probably just phone the midwife or your consultant and ask. It's the easiest way to get the answers relevent to you.

Hope everything goes well.

Hi Nik,

I had TTTS that was successfuly treated (was on the thread posted by Chesticles ablve!). I think you need to speak to your consultant ASAP. Sorry I didn't see this message until today. I am quite frankly horrified they gave you the report and haven't given you any indication of what's going on. Have you had any discussions with the hospital since you posted?

Thinking of you x

Hello Nik,

I'm another one whose identical twins did have TTTS, also successfully treated (waves at silver who I am sure is as busy as me with her toddler girls!)

I'm really hoping your consultant has given you more information now, I expect you are having frequent scans! Hope you are okay.

Hi All,

Nik - As Silver said, I am quite shocked they did not go into anything further with you. Where are you being seen?

I am now 19+1 with ID twins. I have been having scans every 2 weeks at UCH London. Last week, they found twin 2 has significantly more fluid than Twin 1, and the % difference in growth had increased since last scan.

They have been very clear and have explained very thoroughly about what may/ may not happen. My two are at the point where it could go either way - I am booked in for another scan Thursday where they are hoping to see that things have stabilized. Consultant says we will know within next 1-3 weeks which way it will go, and if its gets worse I will be given laser treatment.

Are they scanning you every week / few days now? any changes to the situation at all?

sorry to not offer any advice but just wanted to let you know what level of info I have been given etc.

Hi Rowan, just wanted to say it sounds like you're getting good care. Fingers crossed for Thursday but if you do need the laser we're proof of success! If you have any questions please feel free to ask / pm me x
