The show means you could go into labour anytime between now and a week's time - sometimes even more. The pains you've been having are probably Braxton Hicks contractions and don't necessarily mean labour will start soon but they may turn into more regular intense contractions.

Waters can go at any time before or during labour - usually during labour. Basically if you are uncomfortable or worried about anything do call your midwife for advice but you can go on "niggling" like this for a while without anything obvious happening - your body is doing loads of work to get ready for labour but you don't necessarily realise it!

Best of luck with it all x
