It's for a dance comp

Currently she wears it like this

If you look at hair on the website you can see hers is a bit plain

So can anyone give me a tutorial (on-line) to help me get something a little more fancy

I guess I need to know what to buy to 'set' it so that it's solid (iyswim)

OK I guess I go with fat(ish) curls set with hairspray - fingers crossed it works

Bump for more expert help

looking at the rest of th epics it doesn;t look 'too plain' as everyone else just has a bun too

I think a parting might help though - look at te way she has a side parting with the 'big' side twisted away from her face.

or just a side parting with a couple of well-placed clips to match her dress - this looks stylish and eyecatching without being too 'done' and would keep ends under control.

this is excessive!

also (if I dare say it) more makeup...

I an thinking about make-up, not quite sure how much I can cope with

I guess more eyeshadow, alongside the existing eyeliner, lip stick instead of gloss & liner

Not sure if I can cope with blusher tbh

I have been looking for hair ornaments but not doing too well

MrsBadger Sat 26-Sep-09 15:26:43

I think just more eyeliner with a bigger flick would do it tbh

only takes a small amount on a pale skin to look hugely dramatic, so I think you need to turn it up a notch to make an equivalent impact, iyswim

re flowers, try Claire's etc and detach from band / reattach to slide as appropriate. Do not be afraid for it to be BIG.

is it the turquoise dress again?

something like this stuck in one side of the bun?

I really liked that two-clip look I linked to earlier though

Katymac Sat 26-Sep-09 19:00:39

More eyeliner, a scrap of eyeshadow (brown?) and a pink(ish) lipstick (not too peach, more coral?)

I will add some photos on my profile - I have been messing with her hair/jewellery a bit

Katymac Sat 26-Sep-09 19:27:13

Pictures now on my profile......which looks best?

do you know, the blingier earrings really make a difference

I'd use the crystal necklace and slides from the first pic and replace the under-bun pin thing with something bigger and greener - feathers, flowers, anythign you can lay your hands on in the right colour

The Diamonte necklace, marcasite ear-rings & hair slide, plus a green bobble of some sort

I have loads of spare fabric, I was thinking about making 'leaves' attached to a band with a kirby grip at the point to hold it in place?? 5 or 6 round the ponytail or is that a bit naff?

Katymac Sat 26-Sep-09 21:08:49

I can't cornrow blush

She always wears a necklace - but the choker she normally wear looks sad with the new neckline (see the photo in the opening post)

I agree about a bit of make-up....I thinkhmm

Katymac Sat 26-Sep-09 21:21:33

Sorry should have said 'Thank you' for saying she was gorgeous......'tho I had very little to do with it blush

I think she is gorgeous and DH & I are often stunned that we produced her

Katymac Sat 26-Sep-09 21:49:56

I waxed her legs today, I can't tell you how upsetting that baby!!!

But she has been nagging for months and she said the girls at high school said she looked like a monkey & in Junior school (about 3 yrs ago) he was bullied by a girl who said she looked like a monkeys - so I had to

I think this time they were all sat on the grass comparing & several were very it wasn't specific

But when it was bullying it was horrid & no-one believed me

Of course now it seems so long ago but 1 comment threw me back into the bullying episode

Of course that doesn't excuse me waxing an 11yo's legs blush
