I work full time and child care is always a prob. I know people who are mums full time but.....
Just wondered what arrangements everyone makes esp for the summer hols?

Sorry I didn't mean to do that! Lots of people I know use holiday clubs local library and schools usually know of loads.

Childminders often have spaces in the school hols (list avail from your local Childcare Information Service)....is this in Multicultural for any particular reason?

What do you do in termtime network? School hours do not cover you for full time work.

KatieMac can I hijack briefly please. I am looking for a childminder for my DS when he goes to school in September. When is a good time to contact a CM - ie during the day, evenings, weekends? Obviously I would avoid school pick up times (9 ish, 11.30, 3.30) because they probably won't be in.

Well I'm always on the internet so.......

I would say mid morning (9.30 - 11), Mid afternoon(1.30 -2.30), after school say 4.30 -7

I get phone calls after 7 ....but I don't have to like them

If you say Is it a good time to talk or could she(he even) suggest a better time......I would sometimes appreciate that - if I feeding/changing nappy etc

I personally would prefer not week ends (but saying that if it was to be lucrative ........maybe)

I have a 6 year old at school, she goes to the local nursery breakfast and after school club, and my 21 month old stays at the same nursery, during the holidays they hold a holiday scheme which is really good. You should contact any local nurseries and see if they do the same. Childminders didnt work for me.

Thanks Katie. Don't know what you class as lucrative. I'm looking for before/after school plus school hols 3 days a week for 1 child but with another one hopefully in 3.5 years when DD goes to school so probably not me! So basically you would prefer to be contacted during working hours but avoiding the school run times. Will try to do this.

thks for the advice. Will try these. Bozza DP is a night worker so collects DD at 3.00pm fm school. In answer to Katiemac MMTMML is right. I'm quite at home here.
