ERPC last Wednesday, bleeding has restarted

I'm not sure if this is normal or not. I had an ERPC last Wednesday following a MMC and the bleeding had completely stopped by Saturday. Yesterday I started spotting again which I wasn't suprised about but today, I am bleeding quite heavily again. No clots and it feels like bad period pain. Is this normal?? I had an infection and ended up back in hospital on Saturday and on antibiotics. I don't know if there is a link or whether I should be worried.

Sorry for your loss Loueytbg

I restarted bleeding after my first ERPC when I went back to work (i.e. became more active again). It is probably nothing to worry about but maybe worth contacting the hospital to make sure and put your mind at rest.

Take care x

Hi Minieggs I know I should contact the hospital, I just didn't want to ruin another weekend (the weekend before I ended up in A&E with an infection). I suspect you are right about the activity but I would have thought the bleeding should have stopped by now. Its still going . Its difficult to say how much bleeding is going on because I'm using pads and normally I use tampons. I went for a run earlier and put a tampon in just for that and bled through it in the space of an hour. It has slowed down since then though.

Anyone else had this happen to them?

Hi loueytbg,
I experinced the same kind of thing after my ERPC last July - bleeding restarted a few days after the op and it actually continued for about 5 weeks! I was very surprised but all went back to normal after that. Although I didn't have an infection as in your case, so maybe just keep an eye on it.
Good luck!!
