hello all.

i have recently gone through my 4th mc.

my mum suffered 14. she had my brother fine then went on to have 7 mc before she had me then went on to have a further 7 before opting to have a hysterectomy due to quite severe endometreosis (sp). her 1st loss was at 6.5mnth and got earlier with each loss.

i have had 2 dc and my losses have been between 5-8.5wks so not exactly the same, but i just wondered if it could maybe be a hereditary thing? i know my grandmother went through a similar thing but she passed away long before i was born and it wasnt something she ever discussed with my mum, so dont know any details.

anyone got any experiences of anything like this?

Hi shyla - You pose a great question, and I've also pondered this...I think an underlying cause of recurrent mc could be hereditary but not recurrent mc by itself? For example, if a blood clotting disorder runs in the family, then this could be the culprit. I've had 3 mc, my mom never had any but she was also very young when she had her 3 children. My aunts have had a few mc's but have children, and my grandmother has had 4 or 5 but she had 6 children. I believe I'm the only one with 3 in a row, however the reason for my family's mc's could be my reason, only that reason remains to be known , even after all the testing I've done. I believe it may have something to do with the blood. Although my test came back normal, rheumatoid arthritis runs in my family a bit, so maybe I have just a tinge of it? I don't know. Sorry I can't be more helpful. It does sound like your mom's mc's maybe from a different reason since they happened late and yours are happening earlier? Have you had all testing done? Have you taken anything, such as baby aspirin or progesterone?

hi daynee, i am awaitng the results of the bloods, seeing my cons in nov. my mum had all the tests done and the only thing they could find as a poss cause was the endo. i have tried the aspirin with the last pg but that didnt progress any further than the others. its all so frustrating. i just cant see how its 'just bad luck'.

heres hoping that our luck changes soon. dont know how much more of this i can handle tbh.
