Hi all really need some advice and help. Had mmc in may, got pregnant in July went for 8wk early scan and there was no heartbeat and furthermore it didn't look like a baby and they think it's a molar pregnancy. Never even heard of this until yesterday and am very frightened. Does it take longer to recover from molar preg than normal? I have so many questions..

Hi there,

So sorry for your losses. I had a partial molar pregnancy last year, and recovered well, with clear follow up. Maybe the best thing to do is to just ask your questions, and we'll answer as best we can.

Why thank you, rn! Lee, I've just bumped my own thread to say thank you to everyone - you may find it helpful; it's a bit of a story of what happened over several months! Here

Was just looking back on here and wanted to give you a positive story. I got pregnant in December 2007, found a MMC at the 12 week scan in March 2008 (despite having 2 scans with everything looking OK) and was diagnosed with a partial mole after an ERPC.

It was horrible, a horrible, horrible time. I felt helpless because I couldn't get on and do what I needed to do to get over it - ie get pregnant again.

I should have waited til September last year tto start trying again, but we had a happy accident and I became pregnant in the June. I now have a gorgeous 6 month old called Joe.

It's an awful thing to go through, but you will get through it.

Hope that my story gives you some reassurance.

Batitha

Leewt, I hope you are doing ok.

I had a molar pregnancy in 2003.

I would just like to add to the advice already given that this website is also very helpful and has the numbers of the hospitals that specialise in molar pregnancy on there. I was treated at charing cross and the people who are on the phones there are extremely helpful and supportive.

Let us know how you are getting on.
