Silver Star Unit at the JR

Does anyone have any experience of this unit at the JR in Oxford?

My midwife thinks I qualify for referral (4 m/c before 12 weeks, 2 before 20 weeks, one premature birth with pre-eclampsia & one normal pregnancy). It would be a bit of a treck for us but the do very intensive monitoring & care for women with 'complex' issues as well as preconception counselling.

I wondering whether my local obstetrician could refer me or I'd need to go to my GP (not helpful).

I think Whomovedmychocolate has been with the Silver Star unit due to preeclampsia in previous (and this last) pg and other issues.

I'd imagine that you'd have to be referred by your obs as its a tertiary referral if you are out of their area.

I hope that it works out for you.

I have been there for two pg's- they were fantastic- G.P used to be able to refer but this was 5 years ago.

Thanks for the replies ... if only mws could refer.

I think I'll put this in pregnancy too.
