Recurring miscarriage any success stories to help keep positive??

Hi, I’ve just had my 4th miscarriage in a row at 12 weeks (others were 10weeks, 6 weeks and 6 weeks-no live births). I’m just Wondering if anyone has any success stories after this many losses to help keep me positive?? It’s so tough to keep trying! I took daily heparin with last one from RMC but doesn’t seem to have worked. Any success stories or advice would be so welcome!!!

I'm so sorry @Koalabear23 ❤️ I had my third loss (no children) in February.

Have you had any recurrent miscarriage tests? Have they tested the baby? Someone I know is pregnant for the 5th time, all going well. Her last 2 losses were chromosomal and there was no blood issues like lupus or clotting disorders, just bad luck.

I was halfway through testing but it's all come to a standstill at the moment.

I'm so sorry to hear about your losses. I have a 10 month old DD after 5 recurrent miscarriages. I was under treatment of Epsom and St Helier recurrent miscarriage clinic, Dr Shehatas team. They are amazing. I was on a treatment plan that included hydroxychloroquine and prednisolone. I'm very happy to give details if you would like, just pm me. My losses were all around 7 weeks, but twice not picked up until 10 weeks (mmc). It's so hard

Thank you so much for your replies and I’m so sorry for your losses. It’s so good to hear that it can work out. I know I should keep trying but they are getting harder to recover from each time. The positive stories give me hope we’ll get our baby one day.

I had four losses and then my DD. All NHS tests normal, foetus genetically normal. Lost them all at 9-10 weeks but when scanned they were faltering from week 6. I finally got answers from Prof Quenby in Coventry - high uNK cells - and success first time on her protocol (pred, progesterone, heparin). Don't give up.

So sorry to hear you are going through this, it's horrendous.

Yes I can give one of those stories, albeit bittersweet.

I had six miscarriages and missed miscarriages and two failed rounds of IVF.

I was discharged from nhs clinics and private told me they would only proceed with donor.

I was referred to professor Siobhan quenby who was to see me when I next miscarried.

I took aspirin daily of my own decision and fell January eighteen. Dd was born in the autumn, full term by planned section.

The only other thing I did which may be here nor there was hair testing. It showed a high level of copper in my system and I took supplements recommended.

Whilst the positive is that I have Dd and she is just wonderful, my mental health has taken quite some battering. I suffered from post natal anxiety to a extreme level and still do. Even a cold or minor bump with Dd can send me sky high.

The pregnancy itself was stressful and anxious, I'm not sure I will ever fully recover.

Don't get me wrong she's the best thing in my life and always will be. But my god the effects of multiple miscarriage and loss on me have been far beyond what I ever thought.

So sorry for your losses

I had five first trimester missed miscarriages (at various stages) and a handful of chemical pregnancies before DD arrived. No problems found except for high uterine killer cells. Followed the protocol a previous poster described (prednisolone etc) three times and third time successful - no idea whether it was the drugs or we got lucky.

Sorry to hear of your losses.

I had 5 losses, one at 5 months, the others all 8-12 weeks. I had testing at the recurrent miscarriage clinic at St Thomas's.

It didn't come up with anything concrete but I was put on progesterone, aspirin and clexane. Largely as post mortem for the later loss found baby to have been viable so they queried if clots had disrupted blood supply.

My 6th pregnancy resulted in a healthy baby. I don't know if the drugs helped or not but I'm incredibly glad I kept going. It is so hard to keep soldiering on and knowingly put yourself in harms way again. It's incredibly brave of you to keep trying.

My sil has had 5 miscarriages, all at before 10 weeks. She decided to go down the IVF route and after one failed round, she is currently 20 weeks pregnant. Whilst it is the best news, she has understandably been a nervous wreck but she has had regular scans and everything seems fine.

Have you had any tests done? To see what the problem could be.

@moobar would you mind me asking was your DD conceived naturally then and you just took supplements and aspirin? I’ve just had my third IVF miscarriage and won’t be doing IVF anymore but trying our best shot naturally again...we have conceived before this way and got a DS who’s 4 now but since then have struggled hence the IVF...we have male factor x

IVF was not working and amh was low. Although I was falling every two years or so and miscarrying each time previous.

I'm so sorry for your losses OP and everybody else as well. My heart goes out to you all.
I had five first trimester losses, no problems found, including on the baby they tested from the third loss. Aspirin didn't work for me, neither did progesterone.
Somehow, I gave birth to my DD last year, I'll never know why, but God, am I grateful.
Don't give up if you can keep going... I'm so hoping for you. xx

It’s honestly so reassuring to hear from others that have been through or are going through. Thank you for sharing.
I guess we will start TTC again and see what happens. Sounds like some of it is bad luck. We’ve got some more tests to do when the current situation calms down, hopefully one day we will be one of the success stories, although you are so right the emotional impact of all this is pretty high.

I’ve had 4MC and have 2DD’s. All conceived naturally, but full dose progesterone for 12 weeks, heparin and aspirin throughout. Big bleed with DD1 at 6 weeks, but all good.

Good luck OP. It’s very stressful. Progesterone was the thing that made the difference for me.

Dr Shehata of the miscarriage clinic was like a miracle worker to me and several friends who had suffered multiple miscarriages and each one of us for completely different reasons. If you google him there’s plenty of positive stories about his research and success.

@Wireless77 I miscarried once on the treatment plan taking prednisolone aspirin progesterone plus the supplements but it was only 2 months in so they said its possible it hadn't had time to be effective yet. I then had hydroxychloroquine added to my treatment, after which my first pregnancy was my DD who's 11 months now. I'm on a group with many women treated by his clinic and his success rate is fantastic. Feel free to pm me. But I'm very happy to help, I remember how awful it is and how desperately you just want to find a solution.

I had a friend experience 7 miscarriages in a row before finally having her son. I’m not sure what the cause was or if she got any answers, it was so difficult to watch her go through that. But she has a healthy baby now!

I know this is an old thread, but I’ve had 4 losses. My pregnancy with my Dd was a dream though. We saw Prof Quenby but no reason found. I followed the advice in It starts with an Egg, taking Ubiquitol and zinc and I really think that’s what made the difference. Sending lots of positive vibes x

@happymum24 thanks your mum reply. Is the Ubiquitol tue same as Coq10? At the min im waiting to bleed for this pregnancy to end. Would start ttc again once my next cycle is over. Ive ordered zinc, vit d and cod liver oil tablets. Xx
