Hello all, I had my d and c on 17th Oct. I have attached my HPT pic which I started taken 2 weeks after. The last 2 tests seem to be darkers than the previous lines. I had strong positive lines 2 weeks after d and c and from the start of my third week, my lines started to faint. But the last two tests look darker than before. Please help to know whether its a new pregnancy or I am just not looking properly. I am not sure if I ovulated but we had a lot of BD,s a week after d and c. I had a scan last week and they seem to think its retained products and I will eventually pass this naturally and gave me antibiotics. But my concern is if they are just retained products why would the lines go darker. Please help

To me they do look like they are getting lighter - those tests can be pretty sensitive so it could take a while to see a meaningful lightening

(I would also advise waiting one period before trying again especially after a d&c as you would be higher risk for another miscarriage as the uterine lining needs time to recover to be able to support a new pregnancy)

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted hey thanks for replying. Yes I think I cant trust these HPT strips anymore as the one after that became lighter than this.

I have been for a scan and found out that I have retained products and lining is 21mm. I am not sure is that normal but they said they will wait for another 2 weeks and put me on antibiotics.

Its literally draining my energy to know that this is not over yet and I am terrified of another d and c

Retained products is common after a miscarriage although usually having a D&C lowers the chance of it happening - you could maybe ask for medical intervention (they can give you a pill to bring on a miscarriage) rather than another surgery but to be honest you don't want it to go on too long otherwise you're at risk of infection and scar tissue in your uterus which can affect getting pregnant again x

If you feel cold and shivery, and your head is pressurised on the inside then go to A&E IMMEDIATELY. I didn’t, and this developed into sepsis. Fortunately I already had a blood test appointment booked for the following day but the nurse took one look at me and wouldn’t let me go home - I was put onto an IV antibiotic drip for 3 days. This was before my D&C so hopefully most of your POC should have been removed.

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted Yes I will go for a scan and then see what happens. This is such a limbo land 😔
