Told to 'expect the worst' mmc

So ....by my last period (23.04.19) it puts me at 8+3 weeks pregnant we paid for an early scan last Sunday and she said I was measuring at 5+5 there was a sack and a yolk but no fetal pole or heartbeat, told me to go back in 2 weeks,

We went for another scan today at a different place and she says it doesn’t look good as I’m still only measuring 5+6 she said there is a fetal pole still no heartbeat and to expect the worst and she’s referring me to EPU Monday morning and looks like I have a little bleed just above the sack

Has anyone else had this??
It's going to be a long wait until Monday, so I loose all hope completely!?
I don't know what to do ...
I just feel hopeless ....

To make things worse I've just started with bad morning sickness, she said because the sack is growing I will still experience symptoms as normal 😞
Finding this really hard to take in

Does anyone have any idea what they will do Monday ? Will the scan me and tell me to come back for another ?

Will they tell me it's all over and do something there and then ??

I just don't know what to expect x

Hi, really sorry to hear this. I've had a similar experience and sadly it was confirmed the baby has passed away.

To make sure, is it the private facility referring you to the EPAU? I was advised a GP referral is required, you may wish to ring your GP to confirm. I rang GP out of hours and was informed that since I had no bleeding and felt fine physically I'd need to get a referral from my GP on Monday (I rang on Sat).

At the EPAU they will scan you and advise whether (and when) you need a second scan to confirm the viability of the pregnancy. You may need two scans on the NHS, either with one or two weeks gap in between. If indeed you suffered a MMC (Missed miscarriage) then you will be offered three different options, either waiting for the process to start naturally, taking tablets speeding it up (medical management) or an operation (MVA or ERPC). I've been through medical management myself a week and a half ago, fire off any questions you may have.

Again really sorry you're going through this, I completely understand and sympathise. Sending you lots of love and strength Flowers

Sending love. You have the exact same dates as mine, and I sadly miscarried (naturally, at home) on Wednesday. I don't have any advice yet, or anything that I can think of saying that helps, but solidarity.

@agirlcalledBede I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. It sounds very raw still, which again I completely understand. Please be kind to yourself now, whatever this might mean, and do not feel alone in this. We have a lovely community here and are always here to support you Flowers

Hi, I experienced the exact same thing last year, went for a private scan at 8+something and was told I was only measuring 5+something with no heartbeat I went to the epu who confirmed the measurements and lack of heartbeat and told me to come back in two weeks, nothing changed but they then told me to wait another two weeks still nothing changed so they confirmed it was a MMC. Sorry you're going through this Thanks

I've had this a few times and it was a miscarriage each time. So sorry you are going through this Flowers

If your previous scans were both private I've read on here that EPUs tend not to go by those findings and will do a scan and then another in 2 weeks to check for progress. It can be a drawn out process which is hard x

So they can't fit me in at EPU until Wednesday morning, more waiting 😞x

Everything looks good I'm just a lot earlier on than I thought ! Only 6 weeks instead of 9 xx

I had the same scenario and sadly my baby has died. But very pleased for you, goes to show it's best to wait and not panic at first as sometimes there is a positive outcome.

Hi first time I’ve posted
Just hoping for some advice and good and bad stories.
I had a tiny bleed 2 weeks ago was referred to epu going by lmp should of been 7 weeks but I knew I ovulated late so my dates put me more like 6 weeks 3 days
Had a scan and they said my uturus is a really odd shape and couldn’t see anything at all and questioned if I was sure I was pregnant, then said he could see a sac which measures 5-5.5 weeks at 10mm but empty was told it was likely a eptopic and was told not to go to work as they exspected me to have to go into hospital ( talk of fear of death) drew bloods and sent me on my way
Next day I got a call from them to say my bloods where reading over 7500 which didn’t indicate eptopic or miscarriage and to come back after 7 days for another scan.
2nd scan she said I can see you have a tilted uturus from the previous scan so had to do trans vagina, had no issue finding the sac but still empty but was measuring 17mm.
Told me it’s likely a blighted ovum but they can’t offically diagnose it till the empty sac is 25mm which it should be by the next scan which is on Monday.
I’m pretty sure it’s still going to be empty as my symptoms seem to come and go and not as sick as I was with my 2 boys. Lots of cramping but I remember having cramping a lot in my previous ‘good’ pregnancy’s
Had no bleeding since that small bleed over 2 weeks ago
Just struggling to get my head round this I’ve had 3 miscarriages 12 weeks, 8 weeks and 6 weeks but they where just bleed badly and miscarried pretty quickly it’s the mental touture this time making so much harder
