Hoping someone has positive experiences here! I had 3 mcs before we conceived my DS (2 were 4-5 weeks, one 6-7) and we have started trying again. Now having my 3rd early mc this time around, all 4-5 weeks.

I want to go to the dr and get tests done because it is frustrating and miserable, but I'm worried that because they're all so early they won't 'count'? I mentioned it to my HV when she was here for my son and she said it's possible I'm just testing too soon - which I know doesn't make a difference but I'm guessing that's what the doctors are likely to say too. Any thoughts?

I've just had my 3rd consecutive mc. 1 was at 5.5, two were mmc at 10.5 but baby died at 7.5 and 6.5 awaiting operation now. I was told to say first mc was at 6 weeks because mc before then are really common and don't count. Perhaps you could say that?

I think it depends on your dr, I have had no issues having my v v early losses classified as MC but I know some people do. Don’t let them fob you off, 3 happening at any stage does suggest an issue. Waitlists are so long you might be better going straight to a consultant privately. I’d do that if I wasn’t getting anywhere with my GP. I was then added to the consultants NHS list for further treatment so it wasn’t that expensive xx

Ignore the hv comments!

Go to gp for basic tests.

You might just be very fertile and implant embryos that aren’t viable for longer than you should.

I already had 1 child, but when we tried for child2 I had 2 very early MC, and normally after 3 you can be referred for investigation, unless there's another issue such as endometriosis, in which case they will see you after 2, at least in our area.

In my case I was prescribed progesterone tablets for the first 3 months, and possibly pre-conception, can't remember that part. Whether it worked or not, DC2 arrived healthily.

Thanks all, that's really helpful. Will make an appt with the doctor ASAP then and see where we get.

Sorry to others who have had to go through all this too.

I have been TTC #1 for over 18 months now and have had three losses all just before 5 weeks. I have been seen at my local recurrent miscarriage clinic and as they unfortunately weren't that helpful I'm now waiting for an appointment at Tommy's in Coventry. A loss is a loss, and comments like the ones from your health visitor are really unhelpful and make you feel stuck between "infertility" and "recurrent miscarriage" and therefore unrecognised. I know this can be really hard so sending hugs Flowers
