Been miscarrying for a week. My boobs are deflated, my stomach is bloated, Im covered in spots and my hair is a greasy wreck. No real point to this post, just feeling a bit 'meh' Anyone else going through this at the moment?

I'm with you on this journey @DaisyChainsForever. I miscarried around 7 weeks and had my ERPC on Wednesday when I would have been just about 10 weeks.
I am a total mess. Got some spots, boobs have gone down and eating nothing but rubbish despite trying to tell myself I need to be as healthy as possible to try again. I've also spent most of today crying. At times I'm not even sure why. I just feel generally broken inside and out. It really sucks being a woman sometimes.

I'm with you on the junk food. ive told myself that once the bleeding stops i'll be getting myself back in shape. Go easy on urself with regards to the crying, its a massive hormonal rollercoaster.

Sorry for you losses! I found long hot showers helped me feel cleaner, as for the crying I have no answer as 6 weeks later I still get upset

I started miscarrying on Wed. Was just over 11 weeks. Feeling so much worse than I expected to, physically and mentally. Feel like I’ll never feel normal and happy again.

I got a load of spots the week before I found out the pregnancy was all over. Our hormones must be going crazy. I just want it all to be over now.

I’m sorry for everyone’s losses x

@DrG13 That's exactly how i feel - i just want it to be over with. i feel like i can't 'deal with it' while it's still actually happening. i'm going for another scan on Thursday, if it hasn't all gone by then i'll be asking for medical management.

Hugs to everyone Flowers

Hi @DaisyChainsForever. I’m so sorry for what you’re going through.

Mine is medically managed. I had been spotting since Wednesday before last, had my scan on Monday which showed the heartbeat had stopped, and opted for medical management this Wednesday gone. I think the worst is probably done but hate that I can’t be sure, and in my hospital they don’t scan you to check. I had to rush into hospital on Friday because the placenta was wedged stuck in my cervix. I didn’t know what it was and thought my womb was prolapsing. They manually removed it which was horrendous, but even after that they won’t scan to check it’s all out. I’ve just been told to wait 3 weeks, and if a pregnancy test is positive at this point, come back in. I’m still bleeding and in pain, and I just feel I won’t be able to move on until I know for sure it’s over.

Do you think you are nearing the end, or is there still a way to go for you?

@DrG13 what an awful thing for you to have to go through! Thankfully my hospital does do scans 2 weeks after but I found it very difficult to have to walk in the maternity unit and sit with expectant mothers

@DrG13 Oh that sounds awful, you're really having a tough time with it. Ive never heard of being asked to test to see if it's finished, i guess all hospitals do it differently. What sort of pain is it, is it like a period pain? This is my 2nd mc, so i kind of know what to expect, i was scanned every 2 weeks with the last one. I haven't passed anything major yet, so i know there's lots more to come. Sad

@Iloveeating it was the same at my hospital, it was so depressing seeing people coming out clutching onto their scan pics and sporting big bumps Hmm

I was really lucky to be seen in a seperate miscarriage unit. After my surgery on Wednesday they scanned me while I was still under the anaesthetic to make sure it was all gone and the cramping and bleeding has been minimal. I really wish I had some sort of chat about the effect the change in hormone levels would have on me. I read a report on sudden drops in progesterone after miscarriage causing mood swings and depression. I was on extra progesterone through ivf and it really feels like my body is a hormonal mess. Sometimes I just want to walk out the door and not come back and I can't stop crying. I'm taking pregnancy tests so I can see when my hcg levels go down and thankfully yesterday I noticed the line was fainter than 2 days ago. I really hope it's a sign things will start to improve.

@iloveeating that must have been very distressing for you. I was given a room alone because I was tearful. I really wish I could be scanned at 2 weeks.

@DaisyChainsForever I’ve period pains but also a sort of stabby internal pain. I wonder if it’s just bruising of the cervix from the placenta being stuck and removed. It’s my first miscarriage, and I have passed huge amounts, and the placenta (though nothing resembling the sac) so I hope it’s done now. Poor you, waiting for the worst. I hope you’re being looked after. 💐

@Runner31 I’m really sorry you’re going through this. My mood has been all over the place too. I had an idea what to expect from reading accounts on the internet, but if I’d believed my doctor, I could expect ‘a heavy period with period like pains’, then back to normal. There was no mention of hormonal effects. They aren’t good at preparing people for the reality of miscarriage, in my experience.
