Hi all,
Last week my partner & I were devastated when we went for what was supposed to be our 12 week scan and were told that the baby had stopped growing at 7 weeks. I chose for surgical management which I had last Friday (11th). On Monday i stupidly decided to venture out alone & the minute I stood out the car I bled right through my pad, underwear & jeans without warning. GP didn't seem too concerned but ever since then in the evenings I keep getting sharp pains on and off (almost contraction like) and then passing clots. I seem to be fine during the day and barely bleeding but in the evenings the pain is horrible and the bleeding is much heavier. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. This was my first mc so not so sure what's normal etc.

The same thing happened to me. I had a D&C, light bleeding which followed by heavy bleeding. I went to EPU and they said this was normal (it wasn't) and I went back and forth about six times. I was given some sort of acid to slow the bleeding and sent home.

I ended up bleeding out in a supermarket, taken to A&E where I had a second scan which showed large clots and remains of conception left.

I had to have a second D&C which sorted the problem out. I hope you get sorted soon Thanks

When did the bleeding eventually subside? I may go back to GP tomorrow. We live quite rural and are about a 45 min drive from he nearest hospital so don't want to risk anything going wrong at the weekend especially as my partner is on call for work

The bleeding stopped pretty much immediately after the second D&C.

It didn't stop after the first really, I would bleed heavy constantly and then huge gushes every so often.

How is it today?

I had surgical management on Thur, lots of bleeding when I came out of theatre, very minimal now. She told me if I passed clots bigger than a 2p to ring up.
My pain and bleeding is hardly anything.
Sending you well wishes.

The past couple days were okay until tonight when the bleeding has been really heavy & more big clots again! I checked my temp & it's normal so don't think it's an infection but scared to go to the doctor incase he thinks I need another d&c!

I don't think it's really a case of being scared to go back, you NEED to go back. Shock

I had Surgical management for my mmc at 9.5 weeks on 30/05/2018. This is my second mmc in a row (previous one in jan ‘18). Firstly I’m completely devastated that this has happened again but to make it worse I’m in so much pain this time round. Really strong lower back pains and the cramps, sometimes sharp and stabbing continue. I’m also bleeding still. Last time the surgery all went so well and was straight forward. I wasn’t expecting this. I’m wondering if it’s because I was further along this time. Last time was a blighted ovum. Anyone else have a similar experience?
