Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Ovulation after miscarriage

I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks. I'm still bleeding albeit v v small amount, but it's been nearly 2 weeks since the bleeding started.

Is it possible to use ovulation kits to find out when ovulating? I'm keen to try again as soon as bleeding stops. I know they say to wait a cycle so u can date pregnancy better but I feel it will help me more mentally to try again straight away and think more proactively rather than wait a month and dwell on things.

Reason I ask is that I was about to buy a clearblue ovulation kit from amazon and then I read it's not recommended / not as reliable if you've recently been pregnant?

Hi Op,

So sorry to hear about your mc. I'm in the same position and the accepted practise seems to be to wait until you get a negative pregnancy test to use OPKs as the pregnancy hormones often cause positive OPKs.

Having said that, I'm still getting v faint positives on HPTs but I started using CB OPKs two days ago and I had two blank circles and today got a flashing smiley, so I think my HCG levels must be low enough for the OPKs to work.

Good luck and look after yourself Thanks
