What's going to happen and is this normal?

I'm just looking for a bit of advice. And sorry if the following is TMi!

I'm currently miscarrying (about 9/10 weeks pregnant although baby didn't grow past about 6 weeks). I was in EPU on Tuesday for a scan, but because of size of baby I have to go back in a week before they will do anything.

Anyway, I started spotting mid last week, over the weekend got to more than spotting but not heavy bleeding. On Tuesday evening I passed a big fist sized clot, and have been back to moderate bleeding since with no clots since. The last 24 hours cramps have been much more noticeable but manageable with painkillers and a hot water bottle.

I had a miscarriage previously in 2014 and remember the feeling of contractions and passing the baby. I'm pretty sure I haven't passed it yet this time.

It just seems to be taking a long time to happen, and I'm not sure what to expect. I remember last time spotting for a few days, then the main event of passing the baby and clots, followed by bleeding that slowed down over the following days. This seems very different.

@rainbowlover, so sorry to hear that your experiencing this. Do you know how far along you were for your 2014 miscarriage?

My last MMC was detected at 12wks, with baby dying at approx 9wks. I had severe contractions, and ended up having a D&C as I couldn't pass the baby.

In a similar position to you now. I think I'm experiencing a miscarriage at just shy of 6wks. Feels very different so far, like a period - occasional cramping, but nothing unbearable. Only one or two sizeable clots, nothing bigger than a twenty pence piece. Not sure if I just haven't passed everything, or it just is less intense than a more advanced pregnancy.
