Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Am I about to miscarry?

I'm hoping if I write my experience down someone may have some advice or a similar experience that might help settle my anxiety.

I should be 7+4 today. Last Monday I started having brown spotting, turned into red spotting and painful cramps on Tuesday. EPAU unable to see me til Thursday. Had a scan, saw a strong heartbeat and a closed cervix. Told that spotting could be normal and to go home and rest.

Friday night, really strong pains for about 10 minutes then stops. Went for a wee and passed a large clot then had bleeding like a period after. Was seen at the hospital, they couldn't scan me but I had an exam. They said cervix is still closed. The doctor said that I had lost a significant amount of blood however it looked like old blood a few days old.

Today, I've had lots of pain overnight. Passed some smaller clots and still have bleeding. Sometimes lots sometimes not so much.

The doctor said I'd definitely know if it turned into a full miscarriage. He said its 50/50 at the moment. They will scan me again in just under a week to see what's happening.

So currently terrified to move or go to the toilet. This is my first pregnancy that was a long time coming.

Has anyone else experienced similar?

I don't have any relevant experience in this area but didn't want to leave you hanging. I think if the bleeding increases you should contact 111 or go to your nearest hospital. I'm so sorry to hear that you are in limbo I can't imagine how that must feel, hopefully another wise mumsnetter will respond.

Hi,

So sorry to hear what you are going through.
It's awful sitting and waiting.
I unfortunately miscarried last week. I started bleeding on the Friday but couldn't be seen until the Monday.

I really hope you have a good outcome, it's good that you have seen the heartbeat. Just a bit worrying with the clots.. have you had cramps/backaches etc?

A lot of women do bleed during their pregnancies so try and keep positive.
When's your scan? X

Thanks for the replies. I can't have another scan til Wednesday. They said there's no point having 2 so close together.

Bleeding and cramps have slowed down now, mostly brown spotting again. However a cheap test was pretty faint this morning.

I'm sure it's over but I can't prove it yet.

I have had this now happen 3 times and I'm currently 16 weeks pregnant with twins, both are healthy and the docs can't find any reason for the bleeding.

I'm sorry you're suffering this Blissful. It really is impossible to say unfortunately. My miscarriage followed a similar course, but I also know of many friends who bled like this and went on to have uncomplicated pregnancies and healthy babies.

Try and rest up. Resting probably won't affect the outcome but it will allow you to conserve strength. Flowers

I really hope your next scan brings good news x

Spotting on its own doesn't mean that anything is wrong - lots of women have spotting in the early days of pregnant and small cramps are also normal - just the stretching of ligaments around the uterus as your body adjusts to pregnancy.

More serious cramping and passing of clots though is generally not a good sign, I'm sorry to say. It is upsetting and frustrating to not be able to see what is going on. I remember a miserable weekend waiting to see what was happening. Try to rest and be kind to yourself.

Hi there,
I tested positive 19th May 2017, (2-3 weeks test said) I went to my MW on the 31st May and she told me 6 weeks gave me a due date of 23/01/2018 and booked me in for 10/07/2017 for 12 week scan.
I went to the ER 21/05/17 as I was having some pain, NO BLEEDING, I was examined and nurse told me cervix felt fine but booked me in for scan 2 days later. 23/06/17 I went for my scan, based on dates midwife gave me I should of been around 9 weeks, they could only see a 4mm fetal pole and no heartbeat, was asked to come back 30/06/17, I did so, had another internal scan and was told baby had grown but not much, only 3.4mm, she thought she seen a heartbeat but could not tell if it was mine or baby's. Got to go back 14/07 for another scan then we will know for definite. The wait is killing me. Can someone please help me out because I don't know what to think? MW had said there's been cases we're all had turned out okay but very rare. Am I about to loose my baby? Any help or advice would be much appreciated.Sad
