Hope after 3 unexplained miscarriages

Hi, I just wanted to share my story and if it helps one person I will be happy :).These boards helped me so much when I was having a tough time and I promised myself that I would share my story if I ever had a happy ending.

I suffered 3 miscarriages in one year. With all of them no heartbeat was detected at 7-9 weeks. It was absolutely devastating. All my tests came back normal. I never had any of the fetuses tested but we assume they were normal too. I got pregnant very easily but was unable to keep the pregnancies going. After the second miscarriage I went to see a specialist who gave me endometrin and clexane. Even though my tests were normal he felt that this combination usually works. He was shocked when I went on to have another miscarriage. He said next time we will also add steroids as we had nothing to lose.
I decided to change specialists as I felt that he was just throwing drugs at me without any evidence. I also felt had an instinct that he was going down the wrong path.

My new specialist (Dr Howard Carp, from the UK but now practices in Israel) said that there doesn't seem to be any obvious problems so we will go down the hormonal support route. He gave me duphaston (Dydrogesterone) which he said works better than endometrin, and Pregnyl 5000ml injections every three days. I had to take these until 12 weeks. He said that they cause more progesterone to be produced and he sees a lot of success with this in unexplained miscarriages.

Anyway I am now cuddling my month old rainbow baby :). His due date was the anniversary of my 3rd miscarriage. I cannot believe that a year ago I was googling surrogacy, IVF and all sorts as I had lost all hope that I could carry my own baby. My friend also saw the same doctor and has just had her rainbow baby with exactly the same treatment.

Please do not give up hope and find a doctor that you trust and that will listen to your concerns. Also trust your instincts. I felt the whole time that I had a hormonal issue that none of the tests picked up and I found the right doctor that agreed with me.

I wish you all the best of luck and hope that you will have your rainbow babies soon.

That's lovely, I too had all of the treatments and medication thrown at me and I still miscarried 7 Times in total.
It's also nice that you were able to see specialists, my care and treatment was very much limited by what the nhs can offer and no funds to pay for private treatment.
There is hope I agree, great to hear positive stories, enjoy your bundle of love Flowers
